How to use the dice roller

First, click on "Dice Roller" up in the top-left corner of the page. Middle-click to open a new tab if you're writing a post and wish to keep it.

The roller has been set up to work for this game, so all you have to do is pick the number of dice and type in a reason. The die size is always 6 sides. Example: Change "No. of die" to 3, fill in reason "Looking for Muaka tracks", then roll. Quote the roll result at the bottom of the relevant post.

The roller will display the highest result, but it will not add the bonus from getting multiple 6's. You will need to do this yourself until I get a custom setup, so remember: If you roll more than one 6, every additional 6 is a +1 bonus. This means that rolling three 6's equals 6 + 1 + 1, or 8 total.

If you are asked to roll, the format is <number of die> d6. For example: "Roll 3d6 and mark the result as Combat damage."

Consult the chart below for what the roll result means.

RollSuccess?Degree of SuccessDescription
1No, and...0Critical failure
2No0Failure
3Yes, but...1Partial success
4Yes2Success
5Yes3Success
6Yes, and...4Critical success
7+Yes, and..., and...5Critical success
  • When you wish to know the outcome of an action, consult the "Success?" column. The "and..." is a fill-in-the-blanks sitation for the GM.
  • If you deal or take damage, the damage is equal to the Degree of Success. The target subtracts its Defense from the result.
