Hello all. Cleric of Gorum here. I also think a queen, would do just as well as a king. ;)

Tatyana Dec'lan, at your service; mistress of mercantilism, paragon of pilfering, and monkey of skills! Investments, hedge funds, and cartography all fit neatly under her charming attire. :)

A warrior, a Rogue, a Cleric, a Bard and a Paladin. Should be a good sturdy group!

I’ll pick people off from afar while Filarion and Octavia are in the front line. Tatyana will do some flanking and Raz will hang out with me?

Not to worry I am expecting to get a nice group of six or seven to get things going on the right track.
Great that most everyone has started character sheets and pictures of themselves.

I'm ready to post my char sheet from HeroLab.  Do you want it sent to you, or are you going to open our profiles so that we can post them ourselves?  Either way is good to me.

Prelude limbo.....

I think we have a very solid cast of characters, but I wonder how the Paladin of Erastil and the Cleric of Gorum are going to get along.

Octavia is Chaotic Good, but incredibility chaotic.  She does try to do whats right and good(in her mind), but is also very brutal in combat. Expect many decapitations...

She may say things like...“War and courage have done more great things than charity. Not your sympathy, but your bravery has saved the unfortunate.”

Or...“If one would have a friend, then must one also be willing to wage war for him: and in order to wage war, one must be capable of being an enemy.”

Or...“One has renounced the great life, when one renounces war.”

It's going to be interesting to say the least. :)

I will read up on Gorum. Erastil is all about community and sometimes war is a necessary part of that. I won’t be playing Silas as lawful stupid if that’s what you are worried about.

I really like Gorum. He has a very Heavy Metal kind of feel to him.

Prelude limbo.....

Here's a couple of things I've found:
Erastil's view of Gorum:
quote:
“This one is a thug, always looking for a fight instead of letting well enough alone. Everything is a challenge for him, an excuse to make noise, when the real challenge is being a provider for your family when the land is stubborn.”

Erastil is a bit of a "bumpkin" for lack of a better word... Here are some listed Aphorisms:
quote:
Any folksy, rural saying is likely to spill from the mouth of one of the faithful as if it were the god’s dogma. Two in particular are favorites.

Never trust a fool: Whether the fool is the village idiot trying to catch the moon with a spoon or a traveling adventurer trying to inspire the locals to rise up against the local lord, a sensible man ignores him, as no good will come of this “work.”
Nothing is more satisfying than the fruits of a day’s labor: This is used to chastise lazy folk and rebuke those who wonder what’s so satisfying about a simple country life. Gold and gems make a man weak; hard work in a field shows strength of body and character
.

And here is the Paladin's Code of Erastil. I've bolded the things I feel are most relevant to the potential of a worshipper of Gorum and a Paladin of Erastil working together.
quote:
My community comes first, and I will contribute to it all that I can. If I don’t give something back, who will?

I must offer the poor in my community assistance, but I may not do the work for them—instead, I must teach them to contribute to the settlement. It is only through cooperation that a community grows strong.

When danger threatens, I am not a fool. I seek first to make sure the weak and innocent are safe, and then I quell the danger.

I keep to the old ways, the true ways. I am not seduced by the lure of money or power. I remember that true honor comes from within, not from the accolades of others.

I remember that reputation is everything. Mine is pure and upstanding, and I will repair it if it is broken or tarnished. I stand by my decisions, and live so that none shall have cause to blame me.

I show respect to my elders, for they have done much. I show respect to the young, for they have much left to do. I show respect to my peers, for they carry the load. And I shall carry it with them.

I am honest, trustworthy, and stable. If I must leave my lands and community, before I go, I ensure that they will be tended in my absence. Even when duty calls, my duties to my home come first—letting them lapse makes me a burden on my people.

I like the heavy metal analogy.

Much more important I think is how each PC views his or her character as an individual

Very good point. In addition to being a Paladin of Erastil, Silas is also an elf. The items I bolded above are things I also hold dear. As an elf, my view of time and community are even more important. Silas will be glad to know that he can afford to help secure the weak and elderly while Octavia rushes into the fray and holds back any enemies :). And then he'll come in and pepper them with arrows.

Re: Prelude limbo.....

Hello everybody.

Tauron is an elf druid.  However he will be little different (subject to GM being happy with me).

First imagine someone make a mistake.  Instead of sending the young Tauron out to explore the local forest they sent him to the mage tower to learn magic.

Second if allowed Tauron will follow Ketephys and Yuelra.
I used a Trait to give him good skill in Religion and discussing anything intelligently is something Tauron is always happy to do.

He does not really have a strong point (my rolls were not great but not very poor).
The one thing he is good for is getting along in the wilderness.  I have good Nature, Perception and Survival skills.  Know direction, create water, speak with animal spell.

Just be careful of the swan.  She bites...

Re: Prelude limbo.....

I can see us all fighting very together well(which will pleases Gorum). However, I must warn everyone beforehand, Octavia Cassiana is not a healbot cleric(meaning she will keep you alive and heal you while in combat, but no post-combat healing unless you give proper prayers and respect to Gorum). Luckily there is a druid and a Paladin that can give healing(if they so desire).

My thoughts on the cleric run along the same lines as Ander Wood's. Octavia, like any cleric worth their salt, wants more worshipers for her god.

Re: Prelude limbo.....

Tauron thinks for a moment- looks at his book and then says.
A word to the wize my fellow advetures.  Don't go to the cleric for healing.
She most likely to give you a slap and tell you to manup, womanup, personup, humanup, elfup.

(he he)

I do have cure light wounds as my second spell.
Also strangely enough with what I am planning with this character becoming the parties healer not going to be a problem and letting the cleric tank.  Things make more sense when we get 2nd level but yes I can take the roll on if need be.

So Octavia Cassiana.  Go on girl socket to them!!!

I did not expect this group to be so elf heavy, but I'll roll with it.

Who needs healing when you don't plan on getting hit?

Re: Prelude limbo.....

Okay, other than filling all the blocks in, I think my sheet is ready. Bought equipment this morning so the bare bones are there. I've got one trait only (Pioneer), but I've never been good with picking them so I'm fine with only having one.

Re: Prelude limbo.....

Quick quiz for everyone
1) who has played kingmaker before?
2) how far did you get?
3) Is anyone opposed to the idea of a charter given to Oleg & Svetlana (NPCs)?
