Great catch by one of you in a pvt message on Shadow points-

****Ensure you add Temporary Shadow Points and Permanent Shadow points on your character sheet somewhere.

1.  When you roll against corruption (shadow) use your WIS with bonus as the base.

2.  DC 15 is the 'normal' roll and if I forget to give you a DC use that.

3.  Temp shadow points accumulate and take a special act to remove-typically during a fellowship phase.

4.  When you TEMP shadow points exceeds your WIS you become 'Miserable'
  a.  While Miserable you are at disadvantage on attack rolls
  b.  Automatically fail Charisma checks
  c.  When you fail any WIS roll by the difference you have a 'Bout of Madness'

5.  When in a 'Bout of Madness' I take over your character for a short while and have you do something you will regret based upon your classes 'Shadow Weakness'(Think Boromir trying to take the ring fro Frodo)

6.  After your 'Bout of Madness' you remove all Shadow Points and place 1 permanent shadow point on your character sheet.

7.  Usually 4 'Bouts of Madness' and you character will be retired

OOC:  Players book  180-188 goes into better detail.  I intend to do a better job in the future on 'handing' these out.  One of teh sapects of this that I think makes the game so 'Tolkien' like.

I assume that the roll is a d20 +/- your Wisdom bonus to bet in this case a 15?

Yes. Plus, I think, your proficiency bonus if your class has proficiency in Wisdom saves.

You know, I double checked just to make sure. It would have been amazing if the slayer got wisdom, but the other fighting classes didn't, but alas.

And my Wisdom is my dump stat as well.. :(

Dirhael, see post 4 in link to a message in this game . Basically, you pick one thing to accomplish during the "off season" from adventuring. These are the options, with references to the AIME player's guide pages where they are discussed in detail.



Based on the calendar notes LM has posted, this looks a "long" fellowship period, so all the options are available, but I have a question above on that to be sure.

So, for example, if you chose "Meet Patron," you might try to get in good with Bard. Though Thiriswen went straight to Gandalf! If you choose "Receive Title," you could RP becoming a Guard of Minas Tirith or stay local and become a Burgess of LakeTown. Or you could "Heal Corruption," you could do it in Minas Tirith or Laketown (Sanctuaries for you) to get advantage on the Wisdom/Insight check to erase your temporary shadow points. If you happened to take the "Guard of the Tower" Cultural Virtue (Feat) at character creation, you can do Training at Minas Tirith to unlock another of its powers.

Once you've decided what to do, you can post the doing of in link to a message in this game . I've PM'd the Loremaster first with my idea to see if it sounds like a good fit for where we are in the game, then will write it up. Good writeups can earn xp.


*EDIT: I missed that the Title is mostly your home culture until you've started doing great things in various places. So LM can tell us if killing two spiders qualifies :)
