Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

Ironic, in lieu of a Space Shark I was thinking of an Apothecary.

There are so many Chapters, I can find that works, it's the Specialty that we may want to be fully covered on.

Looks like Librarian is suggested and Apothecary, I could go full tech and make an Ironhands Techmarine.  Then we could fill up on the Assault, Devastator and Tactical.

Lotta love for the sharks on here. I guess that means people are tired of the ultra Smurfs?

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

I really suck at writing space marine backgrounds. Probably havent read enough fluff books on em. So im sort of blanc there. I am also entirely blanc on the adventure paths so im going in blind. Hope thats not an issue as i find knowing of em spoils the fun a lil for me as i tend to make the 'right' decicions in critical moments.

Im al for Sharkanado IV. And for each new party member we count up.

My Shark Psyker is up already so its not suggested its done already ;-)

AS for Specialties. Personally i feel you should roll with something you like. Most Marines can hold their ground and beyond the massive healing a Apotech does about anything else everyone can potentially do.

And i never liked the smurf. Then again i was a hardcore Dark Angel player.

One thing I've never seen is a Dearhwatch killteam that is of one Chapter, if we were thinking all going Space Sharks, count me in!

Thats going to make boring battles. Nobody tauning enemies just silently butchering them all.

Also PlayerA still with us?

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

That's a great point, forgot about their whole silence thing.

I'll go with an Assault  Marine, Iron Hands, can still have plenty of Tech support that way.

Aw, and here I thought you were going to implant blades into your bionic hand and go by "Sharpus Manus" ;)

Once you have decided what Chapter, specialization, and name you want, send me a PM to that effect. If you haven't already.

I likely won't be able to make a conclusive decision or build until the end of the week--just a very busy time at work that gives me enough freedom to post snarky comments but not any thing substantive.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

Here's a few concepts I have in mind, I'd like to post for group cohesiveness (aha!).  I have backgrounds in mind for them, but for now, let me mention some nuts and bolts concepts.

Iron Hands Devastator; A walking wall that shoots stuff and can fix things.

Ravenguard Assault; A ninja in power armor!

Raptors Tactical; See that thing over there?  No you don't, I already killed it at over 1000 yards.

Charcharadon Assault; A flying chainsword from the depths of space.

The first and last are the opposite of subtlety and stealth.  Take the leash off and watch the chunks fly.

The middle two would be designed for precision and incursion, the chunks may fly, but no one sees or hears them fall.

What are we looking for in a Kill Team?  A balanced team, or a more focused team that performs a certain type of mission or methodology?  I didn't take any of the specialist types (Apoth, Tech, or Librarian) but I can, with a preference perhaps for the Techmarine (I could adapt the Iron Hands concept to a Techmarine).

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

Well established are a Shark Librarian and a Wolf Tactical

Player C was busy but going for an apotech iirc. Which is great.
Player A is rather quit send him a PM to let him know we love some input from him.

So id say scrap the Tactical idea as its to generalist and we got it covered with Wolfy.

My personal preference would go to the Devastator as it sounds cool and i can stand next to you with my psychic heavy flamer. WE call our squad Regret and tear all enemies a new one. Or the Shark Assault. We go under the name NAIL (Now All Is Lost) and do away with any subtlety and be a real kill team. ;-)

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

If we have a Tactical and no Assault, then I'll go with a Charcharadon Assault Marine and go all sharky.  Story wise, we could say that the Deathwatch entreated the Sharks for aid, in response they sent...two.  Quality over quantity (which is kind of the Deathwatch motto anyway).

Pfft, if they wanted quality they'd have asked for two wolves :D

Aye, I'm here.

End of the fiscal year rolling up has made my work a bit busier than normal.  :\  I am still here though and going nowhere.  :)

Starting as DW and modules before rolling over to the real campaign sounds good.  May have to look at a few different things then as options.  I'll be more detailed tonight when my brain is fried over numbers and more numbers.

In reply to Hrothgar (msg # 76):

No we are about to be send to a forrest world and Wolves have the tendency to pee against every tree. THats taking to long.

So youre a numbers guy. Guess that makes you the Tech marine then. They love numbers ;-)

*laughs*

Nah when I come here I don't want to see numbers that way so it's unlikely that I'll be a Techmarine.  Not impossible but you know how it goes :-P

It's the same reason that I never want to play the Healer but always end up getting stuck doing that anyway.

Gotta love it when the EU decides to promulgate new regulations that take effect a week before all your contracts need to close.  It's like double the work for half the fun!

Yup and when you are down to this time of the year most of the ones left are all the 'problem children' that you've been haranguing for stuff for months so this exact situation doesn't happen. :)

Lucky...mine is June 1-May 31, which has this nice side effect of I never get to take holidays because the US ones always seem to fall near a quarter end.

On the plus side...

...not coming up with a plus side

How else are the xeno scum to know which areas we've conquered?

When I bring the wolf along, it will literally be a peeing contest.

Planning for the future here, does anyone have plans to take the Forging The Bond talent when we hit rank 2?
