I'll open up a thread for you. Gladiatorial Arena, Barren Wasteland, or Urban throw down?

I'm good with any of them, so I'll let the "challenger" decide.

So I'm guessing this is one of the simulation chambers on the watch fortress, correct? Can't find the book that has all the Erioch info in at the moment but I know we have the technology.

Its an out of time place so who knows what it is. It might just as well be some backwater planet where we could train.

Probably should have the new guys run the duels so they're not just waiting around.

Well, doesn't seem like anyone's interested in competing.

Anyone have a fun Roleplaying story?  I can also share one, if you prefer.  There's...
  • Captain Gareth "The Gator" Cortez, or the time I accidentally destabilized an entire country because I forgot my alarm clock.
  • The Black Crusade/Rogue Trader crossover, or how my party of incompetent heretics decimated a chapter of space marines by failing in all the right ways
  • The Tengu Story, or how my brother's ninja character pulled a fast one on the entire party.

Winning b loosing? That sounds like an interesting story.

Maybe instead of doing a duel (i really don't like those) we could do a little freeform on that death world instead?

Also boss can you let us know if we can 'easily' rocket that weapon or if we need to make a massive detour? If its easy to shoot at i'll take a few pot shots.

You'll have to literally go out onto the surface of the hole. It's not difficult to get out there, but once you are, you're in space. I think you can take it out with a krack. The module is not very specific.

I honestly thought the duel was already set up. I only asked if it was in a simulation room because it would need someone to help oversee the smooth operation of it.

Well nobody is posting in the simulation or otherwise non canon duel so its understandable Xander thinks nobody wants to play with him.

Unless it's involving chainswords and jump packs, I got nothing.

Gah, figured the flamer would have an oxygen supply and oxygenated fuel. Shows how much I know.

I mean, it might. I don't know what the rules are. I figured if it was spraying pure promethium... Nope I don't know. I didn't want to take it away from you just because you're in space. We should come up with a precedent in case this comes up again.

Use the rule of cool to determine when a flamer works in vacuum and not, & blame it on different fuel qualities?

The game is developed with vacuum in mind. There is nothing saying flame weapons don't work there so id say go with they work. Probably will not set anything on fire but it should do its initial damage

Sorry for the delay, had a bunch of overtime this week.

I'm totally okay with free-forming the "duel" thread.  The origin story for the  primarch Vulkan was that he and the emperor didn't fight directly,  but made a bet on who could hunt the biggest prey.  Vulkan slew a massive creature, but slipped into a volcanic rift and couldn't climb out without abandoning his catch.  Them the emperor showed up, dragging a beast even bigger than the one Vulkan had caught,  and without hesitation threw it into the lava so Vulkan could climb out safely.   Even though the Emperor had no proof of his catch, Vulkan forfeited before his own people because he was so moved by the Emperors benevolence.   A similar,  perhaps less epic confrontation would be fine by me.

Also,  Hooray for joining the party in-game!   I'm assuming we're not prepared to be in the belly of a Kraken, so I'm just going to fight with standard-issue gear.

How damaged is the reactor? I don't expect the ship to fly us out but if we can get it powered up...
