Character Creation

Alignment
No Evil alignment.  No Evil inclinations.

Races
Core races preferred, but if you have your heart set on a specific race you can run it by me.  Please remember our goal at starting is folks who have not experienced a lot of magic themselves, though they have, naturally, heard tales.

Classes
I will entertain most classes (even 3p) so long as they are balanced and fit the flavour of our game.  I reserve the right to say ‘no’ however.

Monks are not permitted in this campaign.

The limited exposure to great magic does not preclude wizards, summoners, sorcerers, clerics or other magic users, but remember that you are unusual in your skill.

This is a medievalesque themed fantasy game so no guns of any kind.

Character Abilities

The RPoL dice roller hates me, not just from time to time but as a general rule.  Sacrifices of wax and incense have done naught to alter that.  Because of this and because it is this GamesMaster’s belief that only the exceptional amoung the populace would abandon tradition of remaining in the community of one’s birth to go adventuring, stats are determined by the player.

Take 86 stat points and divide them between the Abilities.  No point buy.  No risk.  Simply ensure that at the end of your calculation two things are true:
1)adding together your stats = 86 (before any racial modifiers) and
2)you are happy with your stats.

Example:  Potential Cleric might choose:

Strength:        13
Dexterity:       12
Constitution:    14
Intelligence:    15
Wisdom:          18
Charisma:        14
                ----
Total sum        86

Character Description

Please describe both your character physically and their personality.

When choosing an Avatar for your character please do not choose an anime style image. I confess  that is a personal prejudice (anime images) and only slightly apologize :).

Character History

Please keep your character history to yourself unless you are starting in the same locale as another player.  I like to see characters share their story (as much or as little as they choose) in character.

Feel free to tell your character's story how you like, but some basics to make sure are included in your character history are

1)Where are they from?  Have they always lived there?  Do they like their hometown?

2)Do they have family?  Are they alive?  How do they feel about the character
wanting to adventure?  Do they know the character is planning on adventuring?

3)What is their favourite Food?  What is their greatest fear? Do they have any
  friends or pets?

Equipment

I don't ascribe to the standard start up gold rules.  I would like characters to choose what they reasonably might have.  If you are questioned on how you have that ancient chain mail armour, you better have a good story to explain it.  If it belonged to your adventurer great grandfather and you inherited it because you are the only one in the family it fit, it's yours. Try to keep it 'real'.

It is the PC's responsibility to keep their equipment list up to date, to track every arrow, food ration, personal item carried. This is especially important for found treasure and how that is divided between party members.
