Character Creation
(I will randomly generate characters for you. The rules below are in case you want to do it yourself anyway, using Dice Roller.)
Do it by the book, as described below.
1. Roll abilities. These are Strength, Agility, Stamina, Personality, Intelligence, and Luck.
1a. For each stat, roll 3d6 only. Label each roll, or I’ll assume you rolled in order. Do NOT rearrange stats to taste, or roll an extra die and drop the lowest, etc. Dungeon Crawl Classics is hardcore!
1b. After you roll luck, also roll 1d30 to determine your Birth Auger and Lucky Roll. If you own the manual, record the result on your character sheet; otherwise, I’ll do it for you.
1c. Record modifier for each ability. For scores with no modifier, write “n/a.”
2. Role 1d100 to determine occupation. Alternatively, you may simply choose one from the list in the manual. This will also determine your Trained Weapon and Trade Goods.
2a. Role 1d4 for hit points. Apply stamina modifier, if any. You get at least 1 hit point, regardless of adjustment.
3. Choose an alignment. (Lawful, neutral, or chaotic.)
4. Roll 5d12 to determine how many copper pieces you start with, then purchase equipment. (See equipment thread.)
4a. Also roll 1d24 a single time to determine a free piece of starting equipment. (See
Equipment: General.)
4b. Record your armor class. (This will probably be 10 adjusted by your agility modifier.)
5. Attempt to survive your first dungeon. If you survive and reach 10 XP, you advance to 1st level. At this point, you choose a class.
Record this information on your character sheet. Keep it reasonably neat and orderly, even if you have chosen the path of chaos.
Don’t forget to give your meat snack character a name.
