Edit:  I guess it has been a while.  Do I use the Marine OCC?  I am having a hard time finding a proper pilot OCC, can you point me to it please?

Please do not roll for years of military service yet.  I am not sure what you guys are going to roll or if I’ll judt arbitrarily say you’ve all been in X numbers of years after training.

So on to age.  Once you go to what ever age you are after university/academy add two more to represent pilot training. It takes 18-24 months to train a naval aviator and I am sure it takes just as long for an Air Force Pilot.

One option is to just start you all out as VT pilots who never were conventional fighter pilots. You would not necessarily start out at 1st level since VF-1’s we’re beginning to be produced in 2007. The larger countries would of course train thier pilots first. This option you would roll 1d2 for service years after completing training. These years would be garrison duty.

Option 2 is that you spent 1d3+1 years (after trainIng) as a conventional pilot before transitioning to VTs and you just gained the VT pilot MOS/skills. The 1d3+1 Years could be garrison, or occupation duty.

Option 3 your a nugget VT pilot. 1st level and never been shot at and don’t have to make any service year rolls.

Please post your preference here. Keep I mind that you might (well probably) get blown away (SDF-1 had a attrition rate of over 100%) so don’t get too attached to the character.

As for character attachment, problem is, the PB system is so involved, you can't help not by the time one is done making one.

You guys can go with any of the options I presented above.

Option 1 pro is that you will have a full VT pilot MOS, possibly some combat time in a VF-1 (pesky AUL trying to attack Macross Island several times), and I will toss in a bonus to pilot VT skill.

Option 2 pro is that your character may have some combat experience in a conventional fighter, skills may be higher due to being level 2-4, and you will have some rank over the other PCs.

Option 3 pro is no years of service rolls.

I like all the options!

I will go with 1, I think, though.

My pilot is 28 without adding experience.  I would like to at LEAST make it to the "Ragtag Fleet" without having to make a new character, please.

I understand your striving for realism, but making new characters kinda sucks.  And for me, I want an opportunity to role play, not just roll play.

yeah you get OCC related and Secondary skills, but it makes no sense to pick those yet.

I will also likely also go with option 1.

I see now that I will be quite young, without adding the extra age I'm 18....and if possible it would be fun to actually manage to do something useful before blowing to bits ;)

Slowly getting the VTs up. I am going to go back and change the nose systems of the VF-J and forgot to increase the VF-S speeds. The MECT stat block is the same for all of the VF-1’s so as you complete your characters go ahead and fill that in.

Since each of you have a different OCC I am going to work up a different set of OCC bonuses.

For H2H I removed Jujitsu but I left everything else alone. I seriously doubt anyone is going to or should pick H2H assasin.

Now that we are talking about Ace Combat and Macross, have you seen this?

Let me know what you think about the VF-1 variants.

If you really want to pilot a certain variant from the get go you might want to change your country of orgin.

Once we are about to begin, I am going to let you roll twice on the quirks table (or choose one of the 2 radar types and roll once). I have not figured it out but I will have a table for your ‘new’ ride after your first one ends up as a combat loss (destroyed or canabalized).

So far they seems to be good, I liked that there is now other options then just the normal VF-1 that everyone used at the beginning.

And I presume that we all start with either VF-1A or the VF-1J (unless picking SuP or FRS) right?

Yes your country of orgin determines model type. US pilots will have a VF-1A, the Finnish pilot will Get a FRS.1J. I actually rolled to see what head unit the each European country went with.
