Well, given the GCW...most 'Blueberries' were either wiped out in situ, or recalled back to their originating nations to take place in whatever conflict said nation was involved in. (For those true peacekeepers (Neutral nations, Switzerland etc.), those were likely pulled back just to get them out of the line of fire.)

That’s possible but even then would you want the Blueberries in charge of the defense of the planet or leave it to a bunch generals and admirals who just fineshed fighting world war three and yet didn’t turn the planet into a nuclear wasteland?

I’m pretty sure the big five also told the UN that everyone should have access to the alien tech. Of course OPEC countries didn’t like the fact that oil was now no longer the primary power source/fuel which is why the hired mercs and terrorists to try and destroy the SDF-1 on Macross Island.

In reply to Darkside Trooper (msg # 62):

True true, I'd imagine some European nations might have tacitly supported them as well. Non Big 5 nations, that may have felt that the transfer of technology wasn't happening fast enough, or fairly enough. All, no doubt, in an effort to 'kill their economies and tech sectors' Or whatever reason, real or imagined, they could think of.

Heck, even factions within the Big 5...look at the news now to see all the polarization regards globalization. The UN essentially did it in the wake of the SDF-1's arrival. The entire GCW could be looked at as one big fight about rampant globalization. And the globalists won.

In reply to Pilot 3 (msg # 63):

Yeah the globalists one but the Nation States did get some sort of concession in that instead of a UN only Command the UN SPACY ended up being a unified command.

For example the SDF-1 Air Group is comprised of squadrons from multiple countries.  So once you go beyond Squadron or Battalion level the HQ component at the Regiment/Wing/Group level is multi national.

It won’t be until the Rain of Death that UEDF military units will be multinational at the Battalion/Squdron level on down.

I could see a few nations insisting upon their own version of Pershing's view on troops under foreign command. But, I guess, if they had representation at the higher levels in sufficient numbers they'd call that good.

After the Rain of course...yeah, all bets would be off.

Is it everyone ready to start off? I am thinking of putting each of you in your own thread.

Basicly RP the events of launch prior to the SDF-1 guns going off.

Your MOS was combined with your OCC.

I’ll PM base SDC and OCC/MOS bonuses to everyone.

Re: OOC (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

In reply to Pilot 1 (msg # 70):

So, got an answer regarding LASIK and flying combat aircraft. The USAF, USN , and USMC all have the same policy. You cannot fly a plane with an ejection seat. The G’s pulled in flight aren’t the issue. It’s the wind force of the ejection on the cornea. Even with face shield down enough wind will pass into the helmet. Plus pilots lose their helmets during ejection all the time.

PRK surgery is fine however because it doesn’t intrude upon the integrity of the eyeball.

Now, in space where you don’t have the issue of sudden wind blasts, the LASIK ‘problem’ would be rendered moot.

Cool info. So Max should not have had LASIK. He just wears blue tinted glasses.  Good thing to keep in mind.

Re: OOC (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

The last thing I want to do is get a listing up if the military units present on launch day. Well at least the aircraft units, which are done except the non-variable fighter units.

I don’t plan on fleshing out the the infantry, armor and Destroid units. There is about the equivalent of regiment of troops on the deadlus, a regiment on the SDF-1, and a regiment assigned to defend the island. This is good because 25 Zent re-entry Pods equals a shitload of Battle Pods to kill. The Zent landing force (or at least a good part of it) gets folded away too.

Ooooh Jack is one of the Jolly Roger guys!
Are they "Skull" or "Jolly Roger" in this?  Am assuming they are based off VFA-103 (Tail AG).

Naval Aviator eh?

Meet M. Levina, one of the USMC's VMFA-314 Black Knights.  =) (Tail VW)

Trooper, you should make certain to include the VFA-101 "Grim Reapers" (Tail AD) in this somewhere.
Fairly famous unit, originally from their part in the "Turkey Shoot".

Would also love to see somewhere a little love for the 100th AF Red Tails (AKA Dixie Vipers) (Tail AL).

When VF-84 was de-established VF-103 was renamed Jolly Rodgers. I am going with the Sqn was never de-established but transitioned to VF-1’s.

Yes Black Knights are on the list.

I already picked the uSAF sqns

Nice, just really looking forward to start the game ;)

Another question(s), did WW3 happen in the original Macross or was that only in Robotech and do we use it in this game? Or was there peace and then SDF-1 crashed?

And yeah, one of Skulls reporting in to kick some ass :)

Re: OOC (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

Ok so Macross/Robotech historians....what are the following "hard dates"? If you have multiple sources/dates provide them. I am looking for both the canon Macross and canon Robotech dates, not just one or the other.

The exact date the SDF-1 crashed on Earth in 1999.

Launch date of the SDF-1. I have seen February and June 2009 as dates.

The exact date of the Zentreadi Rain of Death.

Now.. I think Robotech may have randomly changed dates, like they randomly changed names, but I am not sure.  Macross Canon is much more extensive.

BTW, these AnimEigo liner notes are very extensive, and include a lot of character bio information as well!

Nod,

RobotechWikia puts the Rain of Death in April 2011

Macross 7, however, puts the end of Space War 1 in March, which backs up the Feb 11 date of the Rain

Yup, the timeline differs between Robotech and Macross, for no reason I know of, things appear to get changed just to change them.  Maybe they didn't have access to the information we have, maybe they didn't care.

I trust the heck out of AnimEigo's liner notes, though, Robert and his gang don't screw around and make stuff up.

Crap! I should have made you guys make civilian characters who end up having to flee from the Zents during the battle of Macross Island. Then have you trained as VT pilots.
