Refugee Camp: February 15, 2009

It has been eight days since the space fold, and one of the massive hanger bays on the UES Macross has been turned into a refugee camp for the civilians of Macross City. The pre-painted color coded lines on the deck with military words on them that make no sense to civilians have been used as indicators where people can lay their sleeping bags (handed out by the military) out for sleeping. Within this large open area people have congregated based on groups of families or groups of people who know each other. There are some sleeping areas where no one really knows anybody else.

Other areas are where food in the form of a pink packaged  Humanitarian Daily Ration is handed out once a day ( https://www.mreinfo.com/images/hdr-089-1024.jpg ).

There are designated rest room facilities for each gender, which have military members of the appropriate gender to ensure nothing bad occurs.

Soldiers patrol the refugee are in an effort to maintain order. The first (and only time) a rape occurred the two culprits were dragged to the nearest airlock, stripped naked and then spaced. This one harsh reaction from the military has caused the civilian population to be rather docile, despite being in tight quarters.

[Private to Miki Spicoli:
Your one of the soldiers on patrol, probably in charge of a fire team of four. You have body armor, a helmet, rifle and pistol. This is a little bit more fun then having to clear the UES Prometheus of the crewmen killed during the space fold.

Not knowing anyone, Vance stakes himself a claim and makes it known to any would be street toughs that he'll fuck'em up real good if they try any shit.

As such he's not in charge per say of an area of a sleeping area where no one really knows anybody else. But people know being near Vance guarantees safety when the military types are occupied elsewhere......

"Could be worse." Romy says as she shares a ration pack with one of her crew. "Could be home mucking out stables in the middle of an Indian Summer." She says, putting things into perspective to her group. "Corn-beef hash isn't that bad actually." She adds, digging into the meal pack after applying a liberal dosing of Tabasco.

She's dressed in a sweatsuit, dark caramel in color with white striping, with a Brandywine Productions logo on it. The back of the top has PRODUCTEUR emblazoned on the it.

"Must say, nice to see what the Army did to those shits. Two less 'red dots' milling around eh?" She smirks.

Miki is still astonished at what is taking place onboard UES Macross.  Bringing all the inhabitants of Macross City onboard, as well as, the buildings too.  Seeing the inhabitants up close and personal brings a new light to the struggle that started a week or so ago.  Miki thinks to himself, "Wait until the techs back home see what we did when we fold home."

"Good morning Romy, how are you doing today?  Yea, it was a harsh reaction, but I think it got everyone's attention. Hopefully in a week or so we will be back to regular life on earth."

"Oh, I'm doing fine." She says, motioning to her meal pack. "Just taking advantage of the Army's largesse." She adds, taking another bite.

"A week or so eh?" She says in a manner that says she isn't convinced of that in the slightest.

Once off duty the pilot still in a USMC flight suit makes her way around the Camps.  Her shoulder Proudly displays a large colorful patch VMFA-314/Black Knights/VF-1 Valkyrie with an overhead profile of a VF1.  Her silver Lieutenant bar a sew on, but a regular metal bar on her service cap.  The nametag on her flight suit is "Levina".  USMC is also plain on her flight suit.  Whoever she is, that is the flight uniform for a Marine Aviator.

She looks Asian, likely a mix of some sort.

She looks for Asians, speaking to them asking about a family named Hoshino, and about any Japanese refugees.  Her Japanese is fluent, with a trace of a Sendai accent.  Her English, when she asks others, is also fluent and mid-western unaccented, but with a military crispness.  Given occasion she speaks an unusual third language.. Hebrew.  Should she find anyone speaking that, she will delve deeper into their welfare.
