March also noted the mention of the Israeli Air Force, being current Israeli Air Force himself. Archer was a capable pilot and a good XO. He listened with amusement to Adar and Zsofi discuss Archer's advice. It seemed being cognizant of your superiors' good graces was as timeless as war itself.

Danielle Bell:
Dani listened intently as Zach spoke, then responded once he'd finished sharing his thoughts. She didn't want to minimize it as this seemed like something that was really troubling him. She looked around, briefly, then back at Zach. "As you found out, we really can't go anywhere. And there's no CAG or DCAG here right now to discuss another sortie. So I definitely don't have anything more important to do than talking with you, Zach. So talk to me."

Tinker tipped her head slightly to the side. "Is this something that happens often?"

He looked a little lost, looking first at her, then the bulkhead. "It never 'appen before.

"Never.

"Some'sing... out there trigger some'sing wi's me. I 'eard a voice on s'e radio. I... it from long ago. Back when I serve in Africa, because I feel like I am back there. Fighting for my life. Not against s'e enemy, 'ere. Against s'osser 'umans. I... almos' did some'sing unforgivable. 'Orrible. You snapped me out of it in time."
He'd gone through counseling and therapy since being shot down over Africa. They pronounced his healed after his injuries. Healthy not just in body but mind Now he began to doubt that, doubt himself.

Re: The Battle of Saturn's Rings: Veritech pilots

Dani nodded at Zach's response. It would be tough to go through that while in the cockpit, and she could feel the concern in his voice as he spoke. "I'm sorry you went through that, Zach. You flew extremely well when it was needed, so focus on that okay? And I'm sure it doesn't feel good to lose your train of thought when flying, but there are ways of getting through these things. And we're going to help you though this. I am going to help you through it if you'll let me."

She looked around at the other squadron members who were lounging and relaxing elsewhere in the room, then shifted her gaze back to Zach. "We can solve this, together, though probably not in this ready room. But do me one favor, please? Spend some time now writing down everything you can remember about what happened right before you heard the voice. And what you were seeing and feeling from the past. And what snapped you out of it. You don't need to show anybody right now, or talk through everything if you're not comfortable. But at least for yourself, write everything down you can remember."

Re: The Battle of Saturn's Rings: Veritech pilots

The ETSPW manipulated his set and in short order established a connection with Falken Actual and looped the squadron commander in. He then point to a headset, indicating that Aksa should use that.

Slipping them on Aksa heard the Luftwaffe Oberstleutnant finish a reply. "....I see."

Aksa keyed her mic "Radio check?" She asked in a somewhat small voice.

"I hear five unt five Aksa." He said as her image popped up on his MFD. "This is most irregular you understand, but, then, these are irregular circumstances  ja?"

"I appreciate it Sir."
She replied with a sheepish smile.

"Falken Lead to Falken 8, you have a phone call from your girlfriend, would you like to take it?" He said, with an impish smile, clearly enjoying himself. Over the Falken squadron net there were some chuckles, and a lone cat call whistle, which only elicited more laughter.

Presently the face of Hauptmann Elise Krupinski popped up on the comm screen wearing a shocked and almost embarrassed look on her face.

"Aksa!!?" She blurted as her expression morphed into one of relief and then happiness. "Oh scheisse!"

"Heeey there...um so, ah, how are you?"
Aksa began.

"I'm in one piece."
Elise shrugged. "Headed to Tethys." She said apologetically.

"You were always bad at directions." Aksa replied with a brave chuckle.

"Ja. Sorry to stand you up."

"It's okay, I'm just happy you are okay, we, well, there was a lot of...I'm sorry, I know calling you is terribly selfish..."

"I think it's sweet." She said, then paused, not trusting her voice. "One helluva long distance relationship no?"

Aksa nods. "Yeah, one for the record book eh?"

"So..." Elise paused, then a impish expression crossed her face. "...what are you wearing?"

Despite herself Aksa laughed, then quickly covered her mouth as she realized where she was. The ETSPW next to her stifled a chuckle with a slight snort while members of the Luftwaffe squadron, less constrained by their surroundings, cracked up and, there was, again, a lone cat call whistle. Meanwhile in the CDC Aksa could feel the eyes of the OD burning into the back of her head. "Sorry..." She whispered.

"Sorry about that shatz, didn't mean to get you scolded."
Elise said hastily. "Gott I'm going to miss you, you know." She sighed "And fuck, and I'm going to miss watching you crush that Miss Macross Contest thing too."

Aksa sputtered slightly and realized that she had no choice but to participate; sure, she'd been signed up, much to her chagrin, but she'd secretly reserved hope she'd be able to bow out somehow. Now...

"It won't be the same without you there."
Aksa said huskily.

The comm tech motioned to Aksa. "We'll be out of real-time range with them in about 6 minutes." He said into the comm and made a 'wrap it up' motion with his hand.

Aksa looked back into the feed and Elise nodded. "I heard." She smiles. "So, how about a last song to play us off?"

"Oh you are going to get me tossed out the air-lock you are." She mutters, then looks over at the comm-tech who only gives her a 'don't look at me' shrug. Un-pocketing her phone she swipes thru a playlist, looking, until one tune speaks to her, and she keys it up. Plugging it to her suits intercom she strips off her comm stations headset, reaches back for her helmet, puts it on, seals it, and takes the offered audio link from the comm tech and plugs it in.

Guitar chords begins to play, heard only inside her helmet, the comm techs headset, Falken Flight's receivers, and ... incidentally from any Dione Recovery helmet that has it's radio on. A few seconds later, curled forward in her jump seat she adds her voice to the melody, her head moving in time as she sings The Show Must Go On by Queen...

OOC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNsQv8ZEVP0

When she is done she breathes in and puts her hand to the comm's camera pick up. "You stay safe out there mulkvisti."

Elise, her eyes misty reaches her hand out as well. "You too liebchen, give my best to Anika okay. Good hunting."

"I will. Good hunting." Aksa affirms. Elise nods, then cuts the transmission for her.

A minute passes before Aksa removes her helmet, and smiles at the comm tech. "Thank you for putting up with all of that. It meant...it meant a lot."

The comm-tech nods. "Pleasure was mine, and hey, for what it's worth, you've got my vote for that Miss Macross thing."

Almost napping, in that liminal space between sleep and consciousness, Aarne hears a crackel of static from his helmet. Grumbling he picks it up to assess what caused the offending sound and hears... music? His curiosity now piqued he holds his helm closer and shortly thereafter his eyes bulge as he hears a sonorous voice pierce the melody.

"Voi paska!" And he all but slams his helmet on.

Re: The Battle of Saturn's Rings: Veritech pilots

As Aksa leaves the UES Enterprise's CIC, she hears a comm tech calling out "Ten minutes before that alien ship rams the Macross."

It takes her about eight minutes to get back to the ready room where she finds that all eyes are on the information display. A long range camera from a recon craft that is still on sortie appears to be feeding information to the UES Enterprise.

As the alien vessel gets closer weapons emplacements, and destroid mecha begin firing on any location that is disgorging alien mecha. It seems like a never-ending supply of the headless ostrich mecha are being deployed. Veritech fighters are still mixing it up with alien Tri-Thruster space fighters. The remaining weapons emplacements are then begin to fire on their counterparts on the alien ship.

As the alien vessel is almost close enough to ram the UES Macross it appears to stop it’s advance, as if instead of ramming it just wanted to get close enough to unload its complement of mecha.

At this point the UES Daedalus is pulled back as if the UES Macross is a boxer winding up for a powerful punch with the three energy discs forming at the bow of the UES Daedalus roughly where the ‘fist’ would be.

The UES Daedalus is then rammed into the bow of the alien warship, with nearly the entire length of the vessel pushed inside the alien warship. There is then what seems to be a massive decompression of the alien ships atmosphere, followed by explosions coming out of weaker points of the hull.

The UES Macross backs off from the alien ship, pulling the UES Daedalus out of the alien ship, and getting some distance away before the massive alien vessel explodes. Surviving aline mecha and space fighters then break off, and the UES Macross recalls any veritechs. No sooner has the last bird been recovered, the hard burn to conduct a slingshot maneuver around Saturn is initiated.

With the UES Enterprise on the 'sunward side' of Saturn, the ARMD carrier is 'picked up' after the slingshot maneuver. With the UES Macross having picked up some velocity, the pickup is not an easy affair. The UES Enterprise has to line itself up perfectly to slide into the docking cradle that was built around the vessel during the trip from Pluto. Furthermore, the ARMD carrier has to increase its velocity, so that the actual docking doesn't rip the docking cradle away with the end result of the UES Enterprise getting left behind.

Just before the docking occurs an announcement is made over the ship intercom and the radio channels of crewmen in depressurized spaces. "Brace for docking, I say again brace for docking."

The docking itself begins is a mild shaking, that ends with a violent lurch. Those who failed to brace are thrown about.

OOC: Please make the requested roll(s) as part of your next post.
  • Roll a 1d20 to brace (add H2H strike bonuses). Get a 14 or higher and your fine, no need to roll the below.
  • Roll a 1d20 to roll with impact (add roll bonuses). Get a 14 or higher and you only take 2d6 SDC damage. Fail and you take 4d6 SDC damage. This will be bruising as the Gel reinforced plates  in your flight suits will prevent you from breaking any bones.

Aksa makes her way back, helmet sealed as she has made her way thru areas of the ship still under low or no pressure.

She doesn't even bother to take the helmet off as she is, as everyone else, transfixed by the display on the monitor. She slowly makes her way towards her seat as she watches, hands on various seat backs along the way.

"Ok...that happened..." She deadpans as she watches the Macross literally punch an enemy capital ship to death.

At the call for 'Brace' on the overhead she slips into the nearest seat and hangs on.
Roll of 15+4 For 19 (PASS)
"Perkele!" She exclaims as the ship lurches violently, and then just as abruptly, settles.

She doffs and racks her helmet. "Is everyone OK?" She calls out.

"Is this...going to be a norm now?" he mutters in wonder from punch the SDF-1 delivered.

He just like the rest of the crew grab a hold of his seat and wait the docking to be over with, and is surprised by the lurch at the end but manage to hold himself in place.

"All good here ma'am!"
he call back to Aksa as he begins to look around if someone need assistance.

Archer too was surprised to see the Daedalus being used to punch the alien space ship. But after contemplating it didn’t seem too crazy considering they managed to stuff 70,000 civilians into the UES Macross, and put a city in there too. That and just a few hours ago he was operating a literal Transformer, (albeit it wasn’t a sentient robot) in outer space. He wondered what crazy shit he’d seen next.

When the time to brace cam, Archer didn’t hold on well enough and was flung to the deck where he slid into the bulkhead with his right hand hitting it first.

“Fuck me....my hand is fucked up.”

Lefevre grabs Belland pulls her towards him at the table. At the same time, Bell puts a handout to steady herself against the table. The combination of this results in the two of them pressed up against each other chest to chest.

Klass Neulen was asleep and was still trying to wake up when the docking maneuver took place. He ends up slamming into the row of chairs in front of him, bruising his ribs.

Phillips Bodhi and Hugh “Lord” Elordi both manage to hold on during the docking maneuver.

Qian Jun slides out from his seat during the docking maneuver but manages to keep himself from getting too bruised up.

Kotilla sitting in the third row of seats, fails to hold on and ends up flipping over/into the second row of seat head first. He can be heard moaning and muttering something in his native language.
[Language unknown: “E ome..”]

The three Marine's don't manage to brace. The young female Marine falls on her rear and exclaims once everything was over: "I think I just broke my asshole bone and pissed myself."

The shaking lasts for a full 20-30 seconds before abruptly stopping. A loudspeaker announces: "Docking complete, all compartments report in."

Aksa makes her way over to Archer and Kotila, as they are next to one another and for a moment is beside herself...

'Oh this is just great...but, it might just be a bruise, right? But they way they are both carrying themselves...no, they are in real pain. For fucks sake...'

She looks up as the female penal pilot...Zsofi...makes her way over to the hurt folks.

"I know a little first aid." She says, stopping a few feet away, aware of the Amerikai pitbulls nearby.

Aksa purses her lips then nods and waves her in. "Thank you." She says.

"May I?" She asks of both Archer and Kotila.

Kotila, nursing his arm, notes his CO and nods.

Zsofi gingerly pokes and prods, and notes Kotila's pained responses. "It hurts..."

She does the same for Archer, manipulating the hand slowly and with care, but it still hurts, although the pain subsides some as she ceases her ministrations.

First Aid: Roll of 8 vs 75 (PASS)

With a sigh the Hungarian sits Kotila up and onto his side. "Hold your arm like this, and try not to move. You have a break."

To Archer she puts his good hand under his bad one, to cradle it. "Hold it like this, and try not to move it. It's broken."

She then turns to Aksa and shakes her head. "He has a broken wrist, and he a broken arm." She points. "They will need sick bay."

Aksa nods. "Thank you." She then heads over to and picks up the phone on the wall of the compartment. "We need medic's to compartment (she provides number), we have a broken arm, and wrist." She also relays any damage the guards might have taken. After hanging up the phone she stands facing the wall for a good minute... inside she is screaming.

Of all the fucking...

She keys her radio to Rokka "Ukko? How are you and the ground crew? Anyone hurt?"

She waits for Ukko's report then will turn to the room. "Is everyone else okay?"
