Re: Character ideas and other stuff
I'm going to suggest that Lucca could be a good option. If you are going to find yourself waking up in strange places, a berry farm isn't the worst option. We have rabbits you can hunt as a wolf. We have berries you can eat as a human. If you are discovered you can claim you either got lost or were just stealing some berries. It can explain the blood too. It's not blood its berry juice. I am not sure how much time and thought Chole has had to put into these things, but if she has any reason to be scoping places out, Baba's farm isn't the worst place. To that end, checking out the people who live there makes sense. Make sure we aren't going to react poorly to finding you or that we can be avoided. The fact that they go to school together gives you more time to watch Lucca and learn about him. There are also fewer things you would have to get involved in to make up excuses to watch from a distance.

This also dovetails nicely to them being friends. It is possible that they hang out, or hung out, then you were watching him from a distance as well. You could really build up familiarity. He would also be one of the ones more likely to be cool with your new look. This seems to be a somewhat conservative community. Us freaks by choice have to stick together. I could even see him being one of the questionable friends with a couch.

That being said, Duncan brings up good points. Each of us have very valid reasons for you to take an interest. If there is weirdness going on with you, the popular kid or the one whose father seems like he could whip up a mob with torches and pitchforks might be the better ones to take and interest in. The popular kid might be more likely to learn about you and the pitchfork brigade is always a problem. Not to mention that if your brother was a football star, you might take an interest in the other people who are fixtures of the school. The student council could be a good way to hang out with people who could share memories of your brother. Getting to know people who knew your lost loved ones has been used as a coping strategy before.

Alright, so I went with Lucca for stalking purposes. I feel like Chloe and Lucca used to hang out before she got all wolfy, and she probably crashed on his couch a few times when she just didn't want to bother with going home. She's not the sort to put any thought into this whole werewolf thing, but if she associates the farm with Lucca, and Lucca's a friend, it makes sense that wolf!Chloe would gravitate toward there after a good nocturnal reign of terror.

Splendid. I look forward to playing with you and seeing how we end up interacting. Here's hoping I don't have to bind you because you tried to bite my face on during the full moon.

See, now you're going to give him funny feelings that he isn't going to know how to deal with. I kid.

Cool in the gang, It occurs to me I have no idea what Duncan and Mara are doing during the night so I just assumed they were sticking with their freinds, let me know if they're doing anything different.

After the new guys have done their intro's I'm gonna fire some questions at you guys to see if I can get some plot hooks to sink in somewhere.

We need homeroom seats for the new characters! Are Al, Ethan, and Mikkel going to be removed from our homeroom to free up seats for Chloe and Lucca? Olivia being in the hospital frees up a seat.

Theo's seat might also be open depending on how fast his lawyers work.

Chloe sits where she wants, beholden to no man’s seating chart! Freedom! No rules! Anarchy! Eternal detention! Woohoo!

Ahem. Sorry. What I meant to say was, “Sorry about the late intro post and the length thereof, sometimes intro posts run away from me and I hope this one did so in a direction that is both informative and entertaining. Thank you for your patience, I will try not to use literally all the words in future.”

Re: Character ideas and other stuff
It was indeed both informative and entertaining. Mine might have been longer, but I was trying to leave room to adjust depending on how people did their posts, so don't feel bad about it being long. It is good to see her interacting with her family. I didn't do that and I think that that was a good use of your time going through that. It let you strike on some things that build quite nicely on who she is.

Just trying to keep the timeline straight. I thought auditions were today and try outs were tomorrow. Did I miss audition day?

Auditions and tryouts equate to the same thing, don't they? Or are you referring to a division between sports and things like drama club and choir/band?

MC:
After a moment Mr Grisham continuies.
"The Drama club has also announced they are going to be putting on a new play for the semester, Romeo and Juliet!"

Tristan feels a sharp, almost painful, burst of giddyness from Mei as she squees.

"Audations will be taking place tommorow lunch in the gym, all are welcome. Last but not least, Sport tryouts are being hosted the day after, There will be a whole range of sports teams to apply for and again, all Students are welcome. Even if you think you're not up to it there's a space for you somewhere..." As he says the last sentance his eyes linger on Mara for a moment.

Then it passes as he snaps the notebook shut. "Right...Times your own until you got to be at class, any questions?"

My reading of that was that "the day after" referred to the day after the previously mentioned tomorrow. While one could interpret that to mean "the day after today", that would be an odd way to say that they will also be tomorrow. So, my understanding was that there would be the auditions for drama on one day. Then the next day would be tryouts for sports. Now, I will fully admit that the two words can be used somewhat interchangeably, but in this case they do seem to refer to two separate events.

Here's the updated list, stolen from Duncan and edited by me. Real quick Lucca, What's your last name?

Also, Time for questions.

Chloe, When shit gets to much for you, is there a place you go to cool off? If so where is it and why do you like it?

Lucca, Of your sisters, do you have a favorite? If so which one is it and why?

Also, Just to clarify, Is anyone but Duncan aware they are a supernatural?

Re: Character ideas and other stuff
Lucca's last name is "Moirai". Gained from his married mother rather than his father. So it would be the last name of his sisters, but not of Baba or of his bio-dad. As to the other questions:

quote:
Lucca, Of your sisters, do you have a favorite? If so which one is it and why?

Decima is his favorite. She is a fellow follower of the old ways and refused to take part in breaking any of his hexes. She gave Lucca full faith and credit for his judgments against their father under the old ways, including his final sanction. It wasn't her place to intercede and reverse Lucca's judgment. The only time she tried to temper his judgement was in the final sanction, convincing him to use only nine hexes to kill the man rather than the 27 he had originally wanted.

quote:
Also, Just to clarify, Is anyone but Duncan aware they are a supernatural?

Yes. Lucca is very much aware that his magic is real. He has worked his hexes plenty and works other rituals as well. Whether that has a mechanical effect, or they are any more effective than the rituals worked by witches in the real world, is up to you. But they are part of his belief system just like that of other people who pray and work rituals to invoke the aid of gods, spirits, or forces in the various other religions. Basically, if he takes peyote and has a vision during a ritual, he may get the answers he is looking for. It isn't necessarily that magic is giving him accurate visions, but proving otherwise to a true believer would be hard. Considering the more obviously supernatural abilities he has, he can make a good case for all of his magics working. Just some work more directly than others.

Way back in the woods, well off the beaten path, there's an abandoned quarry from way back when the town was being built that Chloe and her brother used to hang out in. The quarry's long since flooded, it's been abandoned for decades and, with no easy access through the woods, it's remote enough that even most teenagers can find a more convenient place to hang out, so it's a good, quiet place to calm down and retreat when raw anger's not enough to deal with Chloe's life. Chloe likes to go there and shout or swim or sometimes just talk as if Josh is still around to listen.

I've been assuming that Chloe's got no idea. As far as she knows, she's just got a nifty scar on her leg from where she tangled with a wolf several weeks ago, and suffers occasional nocturnal fugue states that she doesn't tell anyone about (except maybe Lucca?) because it'd make her sound crazy.

Mara SHOULD know. However, the way I see it is that ghosts deny their deaths. The mindless ones just repeat actions they did in life. The more a ghost acknowledges its death, the less connected it is to the land of the living. Sometimes that means they forget ghostly actions they do, and just rationalize it. Its not a rational process.

Dead. Hexed to shit and then allowed to take his own life as a measure of peace at the end.

I'm wondering here Mara, and feel free to disagree but this feels like a shut someone down. I'm not sure how that works in regards to adults though.

Is it a shut someone down? I am asking actual facts, which I know to be true. Would that be a bonus? Could I activate my traumatized move given the target(my dad)?

I think so as it seems to me like you're doing it to embarass him in front of the crowd. If you're doing it for some other reason let me know. But as you've said you're asking questions you already know the answer to.

Shutting Someone Down is
an attempt to take their power and confidence away,
usually in front of an audience.

That works. Do I get a bonus for the situation? I am nailing my Dad using actual info the cops wont tell the community-but I am. Can I use my traumatized move for an extra bonus?
