The First Era - From Nothing, All
The universe is dark and quiet. Time has yet to be given meaning, as it has yet to start. No light, no sound, no darkness, no silence, nothing. And yet, there is unlimited potential. The Overgod makes a single action, hoping for it to be the only one they will make for a long, long time.

Ao allows the Gods to manifest.

Nothing has happened yet, but it will.

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Nova is born into the universe and takes his time becoming one with himself. A thousand years of nothing go by and Nova is bored with his existence and wishes to stare at something beautiful.

He creates atoms, the building blocks of matter.

He hopes that with these, the universe can be filled with beautiful things...

Order... Chaos... where first there was neither, now there is both. Atoms provide a basis for all of existence, with every atom of the same type being nearly exactly the same, but once combined in different ways it would be near impossible to predict what would result... unless it was a combination that one already knew about. The atoms drift about the universe, forming abstract swirls and clusters but not yet making anything concrete

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Nova is satisfied with his creation but it's beauty is in it's gradual effect and combination. Nova wishes to see something more spectacular and fleeting.

Nova pulls the atoms together rapidly creating the big bang.

He wishes to see the glory of his creations and all the splendor chance in action as he watches the effect of his actions.

The uncountable atoms are forced together, bouncing off eachother and melding together unpredictably. The pressure and energy is almost too much for even a god to contain, and at once they are set free, scattering far across the void in a plethora of new forms

Another splinter of Ao manifested within the coruscating explosion that Nova has triggered, basking in the light and sound. It approved of the tiny pieces of matter, the chaos and order that collapsed into a singular force even as Jayeff emerged. Timing his entrance for this moment, he seeded a proportion of the far-flung results with a twist of his own

Jayeff corrupts the atoms with emotion proportional to their density and make-up

The atoms mingle with eachother, generally grouping up with others like themselves. The smaller atoms join together for protection against the largest atoms, who tend to be more aggressive. The wide array of middling ones form several gigantic colonies. Spheres many, many miles across, with a relatively stationary shell to keep away outsiders, while the inside is a confusing swarm as they move about, doing their things, getting together, forming relationships, and so on.

Jayeff continues his corruption, outlining a set of reactions based on type and makeup of the constituent atoms

Guidelines for the semi-sentient atoms are laid out, allowing their makeshift society to further develop. They lack any form of real plan, but make one up as they go, forming clusters of dense solids in some places, resulting in mountains, or long liquid streams snaking about the surface of the giant colony. In general it becomes a bit easier to predict what will happen when different atoms are combined in specific ways

Nova watches as rules are defined by a new entity. One with an incredible grasp for rules and structure. Nova did not yet decide what he wanted to do with his creations. He starts experimenting with various combinations, forcing atoms to come together and react based on the rules outlined and finds many interesting combinations. Then the bright light from his big bang shone and Nova was enthralled by it's magesty. It was then gone. Nova wished to see it again, to just observe it. He comes up with a plan to do so.

Nova creates a force that pulls all matter together proportionate to their mass and inversely so to their squared distance in the hope that reactions between his creations becomes more frequent.

He gazed at his newest achievement. He wondered what the other being would do with this new

The atoms, no longer able to only associate with things that they choose, form more complex and varied combinations. Some of the spherical colonies end up colliding, the giant masses creating so much energy in the process that they ignite, almost like a miniature version of the mass that led to the big bang, but due to the relatively small size, and the fact that the newly created gravity is holding it together, it's a lot more stable and unlikely to explode... at least it won't for a long, long time

The First Era - From Nothing, All
A third life was born from the great swirl of cosmic power that was Ao. Born at the moment of the Big Bang, Herne watched in awe as the other two gods began to enforce their will upon the Void. Seeing the possibilities inherent in the crash of energies and sounds suffusing the Void, Herne grabbed some of the energy and began to weave a dance of intricate beauty.

Herne takes a portion of the energy from the Big Bang, and creates the dancing orbits of all the Heavenly Bodies.

With the introduction of gravity, it seemed that there would be no stopping everything from just going back into one point, but with every planet and star now set in a deliberate motion, things seem a lot safer for the gods' creations. The planets seem to make for great dancers, and always make sure to leave ample space for eachother... though sometimes the smaller ones get a bit out of line

Tempus wasn't, and then was. Born of Ao, the consciousness that was Tempus manifested and saw what was. All was rigid. Planets and other celestial bodies we're fixed to an orbit, molecules held together by forces.

Tempus begins pulling molecules apart, allowing the newly created liquids to flow with a certain spontaneity.

Liquids were already found on a couple planets, but now they had something to do. They'd usually go downhill, as gravity told them, but not always. Some areas had water-rises, instead of waterfalls, and one particularly large river on the most complex planet now formed a giant circle that fed into itself, no longer having a beginning or end

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Nova looked at their creations as they grew and grouped together as gravity forced them together and orbits made them stay together over vast distances. He watched the maelstrom of interaction and was proud of what could be achieved by him and his fellows. He thought the balls of rock that orbited the stars seemed a bit dull though. He altered his three dimensional position to be closer to some of these large rocks.

Nova sturred up the molten insides of the rock balls and allowed the magma to burst from the outer shells creating fountains of heat and gas that erupted forth all over the Rocky surface allowing the natural currents inside the planet to continue the process.

He looked on as this new form of celestial body began to change form, no longer the boring rock it once was...

Deep inside the cores of the worlds, they began to stir, hotter and hotter, getting uneasy, everything suddenly seemed too close for comfort for these molten atoms. The desired space, air, something to relieve the immense pressure they were under, and they found that relief in the form of giant welts on the worlds' surfaces, spewing out for miles around whenever these volcanoes erupted. It would change the surface of the planet, but in the eyes of the atom it was certainly worth it. Though not all were so eager to leave. Some atoms enjoyed the feeling of power that came with being such a high temperature, and grouped together, forcing their way under the surface of each planet in a slow but powerful flow

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Acting in a mirror to the reactions resulting from physical collision and interaction, Jayeff laid a skein of emotional reverberation and responses, tensions and releases, highs and lows. Lacking any form of agency, he hopes and envisions that this will provide an undercurrent to the planets and stars, to each place upon them: rivers of sadness and joy, mountains full of concern, winds of rage and love and yearning

Jayeff imbues the Void with emotional reactions, separate to the chemical ones

It was no longer just the atoms. In a sense, the spread of emotions to larger objects already existed, since most things were comprised of like-minded atoms, but it wasn't always the case.  Now instead of the great circular river being a bustle of a trillion atoms, each trying to do their own thing as they flow, all come together and form a mindhive for the river. Beyond physical things like the hills and valleys, more abstract forces now had feelings; the winds of change were literal and fickle, prone to changing direction without warning. Gravity was cold and unwavering, always in an argument with the water-rises, who simply craved freedom

The First Era - From Nothing, All
The emotions ringing through the Void, seemed inspired to Herne and the god stood for a moment watching the heavenly dance. How long he watched he could not say, but when he returned his gaze to the area nearest them he noted the ball of rock. It was aflame with fiery bouts of heat and magma.

Grabbing strands from throughout the Heavens, Herne wove quickly, laying a protective shell over the heating rock. It was transparent as the wind, and yet would keep the worst energies out of the transforming planet.

Herne creates the Firmament of the Skies

Being the surface of a planet was a hard job. Whenever you were facing the sun, you were assaulted without end by the thing's heat, and many planets that were too close to a star could hardly maintain a solid surface at all. When facing away from the sun you would cool down, which offered only too brief a respite and again, it wasn't enough for the closer planets to cool down enough to solidify. With the addition of atmospheres, however, the worst of the days became much more manageable, and more planets were allowed to retain a comfortable temperature. The nights became a bit hotter as a result, but most atoms agree that having things normalized is much better, since this even let further planets get a little bit of warmth

Taking in the beauty of his creation, Tempus wished for his creation to be witnessed in all corners of the cosmos. Its Glory was something to be shared. Surely all beings would love the flow of liquids as he did? Surely they would all bask in the way it's form weaved and shifted?

Tempus begins to spread his creation on planets throughout the universe

The waters multiplied. Liquids were here and there, and many large rivers and ponds were found on many planets, but most was still rock. Now the waters were beginning to take over. 10%... 15%... 20%... more and more of the surfaces of worlds began to be flooded, but only a scant few were overcome entirely. Most planets fall between 25%-75% water, and each one ended up rather pleased with the amount it ended up stabilizing with.

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Nova floats through one of the galaxies wondering of his existence. He is frustrated. It is an unfamiliar condition to him and he does not know how to remedy this. He does what any find to be their natural reaction for almost all emotions were new so even with his vast age which expanded to before the universes creation he was still emotionally somewhat inept. He released his anguish on a random star. The largest he can find. All can hear his frustration as he focused his power on this one entity and crushes it. However, he continues to crush it long after it has collapsed. Crushing and crushing until it becomes something new.

Nova creates  the first black hole.

The realization of his emotions made him stop before he destroyed more. Or was it pure destruction? He had just created with this new emotion. Was this what Jayeff gave the atoms? he thought. He stayed where he was thinking of what their purpose was, whether or not they shouldn't do something, how to best utilize his talents and for what. He thought for a long time letting his brothers take center stage in the creation of new things...

The black hole is a twisted creature among the many things in the universe. It desires to return to what it what once was in spite of knowing the impossibility. Regardless it consumes all around it, trying to build itself up to the glorious giant star it once was. It is hard to tell how many planets will fall to it. The black hole's reach is relatively small, all things considered, but every thing it eats makes it a little more powerful.

Zinios was in awe as the void filled up with creation. Wanting to make his own mark in the void he decides to create a star far off but much larger than the rest and glows a bright red that it can even be seen the day as well as night so as all can see it and see a representation of Zinios himself.

Zinios creates a big bright red star to resemble Zinios' form.

The red supergiant gazes across the unfolding universe, and is proud of its stature. The void had a new king, made in the image of one of the gods themselves. Many planets adjust their dance to join with it, all while the black hole looks on in envy. As the previous biggest star in the universe it sees the red star as a thief who claimed its throne as soon as it fell. Beyond hunger and longing, the black hole was now driven by spite. It WOULD be the death of that star some day. Even if it took aeons.

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Watching his siblings play with the new stars, Jayeff remained .. elevated ... considering the structure of the Void and the interplay between its metaphysical realms. His prior work had allowed for perception and reaction, but little agency. Now, perhaps, some agency was required. Not for the tiny atomic pieces that made up the void, nor perhaps even for their mindhives, but something a little more indirect.

First, he pooled power between the skeins and weaves of the Void, separate and unaffected by either physics or emotions to begin with but which would be made lumpy where it was drawn to concentrations of both: something that would remain in a nebula that had witnessed a pique of rage, or would be drawn to the heart of a star, or roiling ocean...

Jayeff creates a third realm atop the physical and emotion ones, a pool of power

Second, he created an ephemeral and insubstantial form of life, that fed on emotion and this new power, but that was tied to a specific matrix within the Void: a moon, a mountain, a river, a wind. Any of the early creations. It was not them and they were not it, but in time they might come to view themselves as a manifestation of such things. Sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, feeling: any one of them would have three or four of such senses

Jayeff creates the Small Gods, fuelled by emotion and power but tied to the physical realm

Finally, he provide them with that missing agency: an ability to push upon the Void, either physically or emotionally, with a force proportional to th matrix they were tied to and the energy - emotional or physical - that they spent; an ability to push the smaller pieces, some atomic and some realised such as rocks or currents or even streams of magma - and some emotional, such as a projection of sadness, or joy, or ennui

Jayeff imbues them with minor powers, consuming emotion and power to effect the physical and emotional

The universe was a magnificent place at this point. With many sights and sounds and events going on. And now there was somebody to experience it beyond just the creators. The atoms and objects had something resembling life, yes, but their sense of the world at large was rather limited and abstract. A bursting volcano could not see where its lava would land, and as much as two atoms may like eachother they have no real way to talk or listen. The Small Gods, however, can see the landscape, or at least feel the way of the land. They could see and appreciate all the work that the major deities have done, and if they find something they think they can approve on, even if only in small ways, they can, thanks to the pools of power drifting through the aether

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Tempus, while pleased with his own creation, wanted to bring more spontaneity into the cosmos. Liquid was just the first of many things created with this thought in mind, and Tempus yearned for more. Something more aware of it's surroundings and could understand the fundamental laws of the universe.  Tempus didn't quite know what he was looking for yet, but he figured this was a good start.

Tempus creates single celled life.

Taking cues from the atom, the first truly living thing is small and simple, with an abstract perspective of the world. There are different kinds, largely divided by where they live. Some drift along the winds, absorbing the magical aether for nourishment. Meanwhile others find the heat of small underwater volcanoes quite comfortable, and live off the energy they expel. One of the rarer variants form clouds in the void and orbit stars, directly consuming their radiant light. And finally, some choice meteors have small colonies of the small beings, dormant, waiting to find their true purpose

Herne, seeing the works of Tempus, Jayeef and Zinios is inspired to also leave his mark upon the cosmo.

Summoning Power from the cosmos he lights the sky with a blazing emerald green comet. He sets it to dance among the stars, on a path that will circle forevermore.

Herne creates a comet. Known as Herne’s Chariot.

After that he witnesses the life being created by the other gods. Concern over the small gods wars with his optimism, as Herne watches the budding cells dancing within the liquid’s of Tempus. If there are to be other creatures of greater stature alive, the worlds will need to become Gardens to feed them all.

Herne creates lichen and fungi, the simple plants.

Herne's comet joins the dance around the red star in a loose orbit. It moves a bit slower than most planets, which makes the time between sightings longer, but also lets you appreciate it more when it is close enough for its brilliant green light to be seen. Meanwhile, contained to the planets, new life begins to grow. Some under the water, but most prefer the bright glow of a nearby star over the chemical bath of a submerged volcano. Some of the small gods take a particular liking to the fungi and experiment with them, making some of the mushrooms giant and/or glowing

Zinios looks upon the void and enjoys how the void is filling up with so many various things. Every time something is added it becomes more and more beautiful. He looks upon the developing planet and decides to create a moon to orbit it. He makes it out of a material that is reflective like a mirror so that when looking upon it its colors mimic the surrounding areas. Like when the comet comes fling by it will give off a green color.

Zinios creates the moon of colors

Zinios then creates a large wave of red flowing energy that flows through the solar system in no particular pattern randomly around the planets and sun. Each time it comes near a planet it causes some type of blessing upon the planet.

Zinios creates a red flowing energy of blessings

Alos, upon the planet Zinios creates a red tower. When reaching the top the walls are transparent and when looking into space it magnifies the vision so as to see far into space so as to observe things happening far away in space.

Zinios creates the Tower of Observation

He thought of adding new life but he wished to see what became of the first buds of this new phenomenon first. So he does not create anything at first.

Destabilizing the trajectories of various meteors and free floating space debris, he flings them into multiple planets

He does this in the hope that it will push forth the distribution of liquids and single cell life forms so that the universe can grow.

Knowing that such power will eventually draw envious gazes, and to help protect the more delicate of spirits and small gods, Herne creates a tangled growth of trees, thorns and brush.

The First Era - From Nothing, All
Nova thinks about what else to add to the universe. He looks at the chaotic order that he and his brothers created and decides that there should be more beings in this place that are not creators or creator-like entities. He looks at the basic forms of the single celled organisms and how they were slowly evolving into something greater on the planets they inhabited. He then though about how sad it was for nebulas to have no such species. He went to the nearest nebula and began to create inside the nebula a new creature.

Nova creates a herd of creatures using an altered form of the single celled organism that is trillions of times larger and look like Jelly fish who propel themselves through space utalizing the energy they consume from the nebula.

These new creatures would not have advanced intelligence but they would hasten the formation of galaxies in nebulas by consuming and redistributing  energy and materials inside the nebula.

"Nova then gives them the ability to fold space and extremely long lifespans and reproductive cycles.

All so that they can make it to nebulas as a herd traveling the universe. He turned to his Brothers with satisfaction at his new creation.

Nova loves the advanced life forms and watches them as they do their thing. He does visit Zinios' tower to see them as they move through the universe.Afterward he floats over to one planet that is a Terran style world with a high volume of water and  land that is near if not above the surface. This planet would be his in the miriad of solar systems capable of sustaining life. After a proclamation to his Creator brethren he meets with the local "God's" as well as the planet itself and establishes a dialogue, expressing his wish to push the creation of life on this planet and promasing that it was under his protection.

Nova makes contact with and names the planet Alpha.
