Character Creation

All discussions on character creation here.

REMEMBER: There are never enough points to make that perfect design.  Focus on the primary abilities.  Use the Power skill for the 1-offs.

Overview
Play will begin as an established team.  Expect to know each other though characters may keep some secrets.

Characters will be built on 400 Character Points (CP) and 75 points of Complications (max of 40 points per Complication).  Once initial characters have been created I'll determine if any further adjustments are necessary.

Builds will tend toward the Standard Superheroic guidelines:
Characteristics: 10-40
SPD: 3-10
CV: 7-13
DC: 6-14
Active Points: 40-80
Skill Points: 25-80
Skill Roll: 11-15-
Def/rDef: 20-25/12-18

GM will review/approve all candidate builds in an effort to preserve balance. See below for some specific guidelines.

All Characters have the Modern Everyman skill set at no cost:
Acting 8-
Climbing 8-
Concealment 8-
Conversation 8-
Deduction 8-
Native language (4 points' worth, includes literacy)
Paramedics 8-
Persuasion 8-
One Professional Skill (PS) at 11-  (a character's job, hobby, or the like)
Shadowing 8-
Stealth 8-
Transport Familiarity (TF): Small Motorized Ground Vehicles
Area Knowledge (AK): Home Country or Region 8-

Useful Skills:
KS: Superhuman World
Power

Limitations Guidelines
If you've played Hero System before or maybe even Mutants and Masterminds you've probably seen a player load up on limitations that provide extra points but that never end up coming into play.  We're going to try to avoid that.  Bottom line, don't be surprised if I reduce or nix the value of a limitation.

Communicator/Vehicle/Base
These will be provided if needed but will be very basic.  Having your own travel powers or pooling points to build your own is a much better option.

Leader
Players should discuss who will be team leader and support that player.  Doesn't mean leader makes all decisions, just that when needed, someone ready to step up and take charge.
