Do we have a minute to salvage some bolts? I'm running low. That was intense, how many was that?

"Whether we have a minute or not, we're taking a minute to do just that. The rest can push on alone if they've not the patience to wait."

I hate ammo rules. Melee characters don't have to maintain their weapons, casters don't have to buy new component pouches or foci, we just like screwing with archers.

"Indeed good Kvanlanir, search for ammunition it is." Gnorlin agrees. He heads down the hallway to see if any can be recovered.

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

Gnorlin's perception roll is good enough, so he, Xander and Kvanlanir (and anyone else who fired a weapon)
can recover half their expended ammo for the two fights against the zombies
(the two bloated zombies, and the fourteen feral zombies).

If you can't remember how many ammo pieces you used,
just add 1d4+1 back to your current amount.

All the ammo pieces are lying in the fairly-immediate area,
due to the twisty nature of the narrow passageway.

The passageway continues to the north, with more rough ancient stone steps leading down through the gloom.
The sound of the constant blood waterfall nearby also continues.

While the ranged members search for their ammo, Matrim will calm down, and sit down before following the party, cleaning off his warhammer.

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

Cricket had been gone a while. Where? Who knows. The strange bird up and vanished without a trace or word of where he was going. Not that he ever had many words to say anyways. Conversing with the others was difficult for him.

Now the sound of tapping nails, distant at first, but growing louder as they drew closer, echoed through the halls. It was a moment later when Kvanlir's voice came from the path the party had come from.

"Have a minute. Taking a minute." Followed by Xander's voice. "I'm running."

Cricket called out, catching up with the party and offering a chirp exactly like a cricket would make as he watched them gathering up their spent ammunition, tilting his head and staring.

Gnorlinn looks up astonished, "Where in the blazes have you been?" he asks Cricket.

Once he finishes collecting his gore-covered bolts he addresses the rest of the group, "Shall we press on?

Xander is able to salvage 5 bolts and his dagger. He cleans much of the Gore from himself and the others with prestidigitation. Hearing the mimicry Xander tenses up, unsure who or what us happening.
Seeing Gnorlinn's recognition puts him at ease. He stows his weapons and wand and extends his hand.
what are the odds of a friend in this forsaken place. I'm Xander, very pleased to meet you.

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

The adventurers continue on, venturing down through the narrow passageway to the north.

The passageway widens into a ledge overlooking the vast blood pit (T5 on the map).
Across the chamber can be seen another chamber/area that also overlooks the blood pit (T7 on the map).

This second overlooking chamber is approximately 15' lower than where the adventurers stand,
due to the twisty winding passageways with carved stone steps leading down.

"In the blazes."

Cricket copied Gnorlin as if this was somehow a suitable response.

"Press on."

"Very pleased to meet you. Friend Xander."

The over-sized crow called out in Xander's same voice and inflection, making the sentence sound stitched together in a crude manor. He then responded with the sound of a cricket chirping as he followed his group along.

Gnorlin says a little prayer and makes his way down the staircase. Not even the help of his deity can keep his stubby feet from kicking the stairs causing him to almost stumble.

Cast GUIDANCE on himself and try to sneak down the staircase but... crit failure.

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

With the rest of the adventurers following, Gnorlin and Matrim stumble down the stairway to the north, through another narrow passageway, revealing a junk-strewn chamber (T6 on the maps).

Crates and barrels are stacked haphazardly along the walls. On the far side of the chamber a pair of eastern passageways lead into darkness. Between the eastern passageways is a heap of clothes along with an open barrel.

No sound is coming from either of the eastern passageways.

The nearby chamber (T7) is also revealed on the map as you could see it from your previous vantage-point, overlooking the blood-pit/waterfall. The chamber was empty when you could see it.

Gnorlin creeps through the chamber and peers down the eastern passageway.
He believes the passageway to be short, and to open into another chamber ...

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

Which way do the adventurers want to go ?

There's two passageways heading east.
(1) The more-north passageway leads to an unknown chamber.
(2) The more-south passageway leads to area T7, which you believe is empty.

Gnorlin looks back at his companions and points down the northern-most passageway. He shrugs his shoulders and waits to see if they agree.

If the party agrees he will proceed down the passageway with them following the illusionary image of himself.
Matrim don't forget you have advantage on stealth rolls.

Re: Chapter One : Greyhawk City

Bhelmyr. the clothes are old and dirty rags.

The barrel under the clothes, as well as the other barrels and crates in this room, contain raw iron ore, finished horse-shoes, spoiled cider, stale bread, and leather-working tools.

The crates and barrels have markings on them from multiple merchant houses,
indicating them to probably be stolen property.

No sound can be heard from either the north-east, or south-east passageway.
