Gnorlin, in his excitement to reach
1000 posts, has posted two actions for this round. I've decided to choose his most effective action.
Gnorlin raises his crossbow and lets a bolt fly towards the remaining
zombie, hitting it in the chest for
4 HP damage.
The remaining
zombie climbs over the corpses of his fallen comrades and bites at
Matrim.
DM rolled 23 using 1d20+4. Feral Zombie bite.
DM rolled 7 using 1d6+2. Feral Zombie bite damage.
Matrim takes
3 HP damage from the bite.
Bhelmyr casts
Sacred Flame on the remaining
zombie.
DM rolled 10 using 1d20+2. Feral Zombie dex save.
The
Sacred Flame scorches the
zombie for
3 HP damage.
Matrim attacks the remaining
zombie, causing a
devastating chest-gut wound.
The
zombies innards spill out, but the
zombie remains moving, snapping its teethy mouth at the
goliath.
Kvanlanir (controlled mystically by the DM!) fires an arrow at the remaining
zombie.
DM, on behalf of Kvanlanir, rolled 25,6 using d20+7,d8+3. Attack w/ Longbow.
The
zombie takes the arrow in the skull, snapping the head off and
destroying the foul creature.
Xander does
not fire his crossbow, as the only remaining
zombies are those who were turned, and are not currently in direct line-of-sight.
Turn Undead in PHB states
"... it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage." The turning occured in round four, meaning the adventurers have approximately 6-8 seconds before the
zombies regain their undead confidence and lust to destroy the living. As you can see on the map, these
two zombies are further along the narrow passageway,
in a short alcove/passageway coming off the left.
