Gnorlin begins hurling insults towards the lead zombie.
DM rolled 12 using 1d20-2.  Feral Zombie wis save.
The female zombie is not insulted by Gnorlin, but rather flattered at his compliments !

The remaining three threatening feral zombies push forwards against Matrim.
Z11 and Z13 make bite attacks against the goliath.
DM rolled 17 using 1d20+4. Feral Zombie bite.
DM rolled 23 using 1d20+4. Feral Zombie bite.
DM rolled 4 using 1d6+2.  Feral Zombie bite damage.
DM rolled 3 using 1d6+2.  Feral Zombie bite damage.

Both feral zombies sink their teeth into Matrim, causing 3 HP damage !

Bhelmyr again casts Sacred Flame, but the target zombie twists out of the way.
DM rolled 18 using 1d20+2.  Feral Zombie dex save.

Matrim smashes his warhammer into Z11, smashing open the zombies chest in the process.
The zombie is not yet destroyed, but is extremely hurt !
Matrims RAGE ends. (Started at round 1, this is round 10, rage lasts for one minute. Correct me if I am wrong here.)

Kvan continues to burn through those arrows,
shooting at and destroying the hurt Z11.

Xander shoots his crossbow at Z13, missing.

Calming down, and still seeing the creatures in front of him, Matrim will begin another RAGE (This is a long encounter!).

Matrim will continue his zombie smashing workout. (Two-handed)

Gnorlin continues to channel magical energy through his voice and projects it at the lead Zombie. This time he focuses on her incredible lack of personal hygiene.


ACTION: cast Vicious Mockery at lead zombie. (Save v. WIS DC 12 or take 3 damage and have disadvantage on its next attack.)
NOTE: Matrim you still have a Bardic Inspiration. (add 1d6 to an attack roll in the next 10 minutes)
MOVE: none

Matrim begins another RAGE and continues his zombie smashing workout, smashing Z13s chest, splintering undead bones inside.

Kvanlanir (controlled mystically by the DM!) fires an arrow at Z13.
DM, on behalf of Kvanlanir, rolled 22,10 using d20+7,d8+3.  Attack w/ Longbow.
Z13 takes the arrow in the skull, tearing the head clean off the shoulders. Z13 is destroyed !

Xander continues to rain down bolts, hitting Z14 for 7 damage !

There is only one feral zombie left attacking Matrim,
while there are two feral zombies nearby, turned for approximately another half-a-minute.

Matrim will attack the closest zombie

To Hit: Matrim Rogthor rolled 19 using 1d20+6

Damage: Matrim Rogthor rolled 14 using 1d10+6

If the closest one has died (Z14), Matrim will instead run to the turned zombies, use his last fire breath on both, then attack the closest standing one.

Gnorlin, in his excitement to reach 1000 posts, has posted two actions for this round. I've decided to choose his most effective action.
Gnorlin raises his crossbow and lets a bolt fly towards the remaining zombie, hitting it in the chest for 4 HP damage.

The remaining zombie climbs over the corpses of his fallen comrades and bites at Matrim.
DM rolled 23 using 1d20+4.  Feral Zombie bite.
DM rolled 7 using 1d6+2.  Feral Zombie bite damage.

Matrim takes 3 HP damage from the bite.

Bhelmyr casts Sacred Flame on the remaining zombie.
DM rolled 10 using 1d20+2.  Feral Zombie dex save.
The Sacred Flame scorches the zombie for 3 HP damage.

Matrim attacks the remaining zombie, causing a devastating chest-gut wound.
The zombies innards spill out, but the zombie remains moving, snapping its teethy mouth at the goliath.

Kvanlanir (controlled mystically by the DM!) fires an arrow at the remaining zombie.
DM, on behalf of Kvanlanir, rolled 25,6 using d20+7,d8+3.  Attack w/ Longbow.
The zombie takes the arrow in the skull, snapping the head off and destroying the foul creature.

Xander does not fire his crossbow, as the only remaining zombies are those who were turned, and are not currently in direct line-of-sight.

Turn Undead in PHB states "... it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage." The turning occured in round four, meaning the adventurers have approximately 6-8 seconds before the zombies regain their undead confidence and lust to destroy the living. As you can see on the map, these two zombies are further along the narrow passageway, in a short alcove/passageway coming off the left.

Gnorlin follows the Goliath and lets loose a crossbow bolt at the nearest zombie.

If matrim doesn't then...   hold action
Gnorlin stands ready for what comes next.

Matrim will charge towards the two turned zombies, breath fire at both, and swing two handed at the closest one.

Matrim charges forward, with Gnorlin behind.

Matrim expels his final fire-breath upon the two cowering turned zombies.
DM rolled 17 using 1d20+2.  Feral Zombie dex save.
DM rolled 13 using 1d20+2.  Feral Zombie dex save.

Both zombies pass their Dex saves, and take 5 HP damage from the fire-breath.

Matrim then smashes Z5 with his warhammer, seriously injuring the zombie.
Gnorlin shoots past Matrim, but misses the zombies.

Z5 is on the ground, battered, burnt and barely still (un-)alive.
Z9 is standing, burnt.

Both zombies have taken damage and will attack Matrim,
unless another quick adventurer can step forward and finish them now.

The remaining zombie (Z9) is injured and will attempt to bite at Matrim, who is closest to it.

It will probably only take one last round to finish it off, using this order :
