Nope. Gotta be one of the core/base classes that has a background. This is OLD SCHOOL, we don't have time for your nimbly pimbly hah-bred classes! This here is DUNGENS & DRAGUNS not SWASHBUCKLORS AND WAHPRIESTS!!!

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 28):

I considered it, had their been a fighter/rogue combo I might have asked myself. Decided to just go with straight rogue though and have fun with it, oldschool style!

Archetypes are an option but hold off on those until we have an AP. If say Skulls & Shackles gets picked that might mean something very different then say Reign of Winter or some other localized environmental one.

Return of the Runelords, not the Rise. Quick question... is Ameiko in Sandpoint or has she gone East?

[OOC] Character & Party Creation

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 33):

So I googled it and....

Return of the Runelords is the twenty-third Pathfinder Adventure Path and is expected to begin in August 2018. It is a continuation of the Runelords storylines from Rise of the Runelords and Shattered Star, and the first adventure path to span player character levels 1 through 20.[1]

Is the wiki screwing with me or do we begin with Rise and keep going? (I don't normally AP so i'm clueless)

Dont know...the AP doesn’t publish until August. Pro is its a brand new adventure and I can preorder for a discount. Con means waiting until then.

We can slide it out and pick Ire of the Storm instead. That will have to be a majority vote among you guys. I am fine either way.

The first part of six comes out in August and I’d rather not delay over a month myself so I vote ire

To clarify it is not a continuation, but it does progress the metaplot. Given the pace it will probably be about 2 weeks before game on no matter what so yeah it would be about a 2-4 week delah before Return of the Runelords releases

I vote for playing Ire of the Storm, as opposed to doing nothing until August 29th.

[OOC] Character & Party Creation

Two months of downtime just waiting for a book to come out does seem a little excessive. I'm not usually a fan of the one-off adventures like Ire of the Storm, but I'm also not a fan of anything else the dice roller has decided for me so far. Why break the pattern now? :P

I have a solution. Why dont we run a smaller one off adventure close to where Return starts. By the time we finish that I can have Return locked and loaded. Does that sound like a plan?

[OOC] Character & Party Creation

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 43):

1. I rarely if ever AP and in general i have had bad luck with them on Rpol, so I'm clueless and open to whatever. I just adored the format so much it had to be played! ^-^

2. My only suggestion is this, the longer a gap between 'character creation' and 'game start', the more likely you are (from my experience on rpol) to have players drop. Especially over weeks if not months, its easy to disconnect from a character you've never actually played and lose interest. So my vote is 'whatever works but the sooner we can start the better'.

[OOC] Character & Party Creation

See my experience is different. Solid players are solid, flakes are flakes. If waiting a couple of weeks is the difference between you playing and you flaking, you were always going to flake. Maybe not right away but within the first couple of months or so you were probably going to flake out. Then again I have been doing this for a loooong time and fully admit that I am a bit judgey and jaded at time :P

That being said I see on the store it is August 29th which is too long for me to wait so I will look at a couple of one shots I have my eye on and get thins started. For now we will just leave the campaign trait slots blank and do a light touch on backgrounds, In addition when the players guide finally comes out I will build in some downtime so players can retrain to better suit the AP.

The more I think about it, the more I want to run Return of th Ruinlords. The fact that RNG picked it is too powerful an omen to ignore.
