So you guys hit swarms for your first 2e battle...wonderful.

Some big changes from how things worked in 1e:

1) It takes an action to identify targets: https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=26

2) You have three actions and 1 reaction. In your resource tracker if you have unlocked nonstandard actions I wrote them there. > means it takes an action, >> means it takes two actions, and ^ means reaction.

3) By default I will activate the first reaction that triggers. If you want to "save" a reaction for something special (i.e. you really want to save a shield block vs. the baddie with the greataxe) then specify that otherwise the first thing that triggers gets it.

4) Swarms work similar to 1e but there are some mechanical updates. So they are resistant (but not immune) to physical damage and weak to area of effects and they don't "attacK" but instead automatically inflict damage to a target.

5) I no longer do initiative. Everything is just in posting order.

No doubt! When I was on active duty the one's in the barracks were even armor plated! You could stomp on them and hear your boot clank against their armor!

@Phelar: Yes it is a window BUUUT

@Tanu: Poison's work kind of differently and don't tend to cause ability damage anymore.

For this particular poison, when you failed it did 1 extra poison damage and enfeebled you for 1 round (-1 to any strength check or roll).

Different poisons do different things but so long as you didn't critically fail this one doesn't do very much outside of combat. Instead it is meant to be crippling if it accumulates so if you would have gotten lots of bites it could have been bad.

To recap new exits:

A = main entrance stairs up
B = Door under staircase (A)
C = Hallway
D = back entrance stairs up
E = door under staircase (D) - will require a DC 12 strength check to break down and force open.

Map has been updated. To recap:

A - door under stairs.
B - main floor hallway that curves to western rooms.
C - appears to lead into master bedroom
D - appears to lead to a study
E - appears to lead to a lounge
F - appears to lead to a sewing room

As this is our first 2e combat take it slow and steady. If you have questions feel free to ask or refer to the Archives of Nethys for answers. I hope once you get used to it you see how much more streamlined the rules are for 2e than 1e.

For your combat trackers I would like to point out a couple things:

1) Some of you have unlocked nonstandard actions. I've marked them as follows:
-> = takes 1 action to activate
->> = takes 2 actions to activate
<- = reaction. You get 1 reaction per turn and by default I trigger them automatically as they are triggered unless otherwise specified.

2) Everyone starts with a hero point. 1 hero point can be used to reroll. Dumping all your hero points allows you to avoid death.
