[OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

I know you will want to talk about your characters so here you y advicecan do that. My personal advice is not to reveal your actual rolls. If you roll low and someone rolls stupid high what is that going to do for you? Or if you complain about your useless guy and someone else rolls even lower how will that feel? My advice is to just use abstracts like  “highest is Dex and Wis”or “low Int” and leave it at that but you are free to do you!

I’m not sure. I feel like rolling a 3 in Int and a -2 Int race would be straight up brag worthy

[OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

I pretty much got the rolls I expected from the dice roller. We don't get along.

So I went with a Human Fighter and I'll probably be using a bow because dexterity is my only decent stat. My character may also be a terrible person. Horribly beat someone, did it out of jealousy, felt pretty "Meh" about it. And my drawback is Avarice...which means if my character doesn't get more than their fair share, they get jealous. And we all know what happens when my character gets jealous. >:)

Still putting all the pieces together but it all adds up to a pretty crappy past. Still trying to decide which sex to go with (I'll probably just roll for the kicks) and then come up with a name. Is there a way to roll a name? Maybe like a d12 for name length then roll a d26 that many times for each letter? All fear Mjllrtxw!

You could randomly roll the list and then randomly roll a d12 to determine which name.

There are more lists, but this is the human pathfinder list.

Went with Talla's suggestion. Guess I'm a dude named Garlad now. Garlad the Fighter who's kind of a jerk. :P

It rhymes with Chad. That's how you can tell.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

I guess I'm the party healer, unless Player One makes a divine caster.  Hopefully things will be relatively slow paced enough that we can rest between encounters, because one bard trying to keep a party of 8 on it's feet is going to be rough if we're fighting every day.  At least until we can get our hands on a wand of CLW.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

How's everyone's builds coming together? I rolled a bit low on gold but had enough for all my main gear (thank heaven's I'm not a tank though!). Just grateful I didn't roll exceptionally low on HP as a melee rogue.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

It's max HP first level, unless I missed something.

I think my build worked out alright.  Torg's a pretty standard support bard; with songs and spells and the occasional untrained net attack.  Maybe a javelin if I have nothing better to do.  Plus some decent diplomacy.

The minmaxer in me is filled with terrible regret at playing any race other than human or halfling, but it'll pipe down eventually.

10. Roll for Gold, Animal Companion HP etc. and all the other finishing touches.

Max hp would be nice but I rolled because of this

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

That's "Animal Companion HP," not "Animal companion, HP."  Animal companions get 2 HD, and they roll for both.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

I was not one of the people that rolled a high Wisdom (or I suppose a high Charisma) to take a Cleric or Oracle to be the healer. I will have SOME healing possibly to help out but not divine caster.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

Judging by the classes we ended up with, I have a feeling a lot of people ended up with rolls similar to mine. I almost went Elven Rogue, Alchemist, or Wizard since Dexterity, Intelligence, and Constitution were my only decent rolls. And hey, what do you know? We have an Elven Rogue, an Elven Alchemist, and an Elven Wizard. I wouldn't even be able to cast spells as a Cleric and could only barely do so as an Oracle, so I'm definitely no help in the healing department.

Dice roller does not believe in variety or balanced parties. Here's hoping our second set of characters roll better after our inevitable grisly demises. :P

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

I guess I could have gone Druid or something wisdom based. But i didn't actually decide my class. I made a list of 10 classes that fit my stats some what, rolled, and ended up with cavalier.

Re: [OOC] Character/ Party Discussion

Nah, you're fine. I thought about doing the same thing. The dice roller is just handicapping us because it knows we're that good.
