Re: OOC thread

Where will the game be set?  I left the location I moved to open so I can conveniently be where you want me to be.

Also, will we know each other before-hand or will the game introduce us?

1. I was thinking 1963 New York City.

2. I'll leave that up to you, but the game's original intent seemed to be that you already know each other and have banded together to fight badness. But I didn't push that for two reasons, the easiest of which to explain was that I wondered if you'd want to back up and roleplay meeting for the first time.

So I'm really asking you that question...

Re: OOC thread

I think I can pull a "Parents got jobs in NYC". Thus why the countryside boy moved.

I might just have to make dinner and touch up the mental image of Scales in costume. I'm thinking minor touches of armor like shoulder pads on top of a tunic for when he's "fired up".

Thoughts?

Simple but effective, I like it.  :)

Do you think we might know each other, Scorch?  And if so do you have any ideas how?

Huh?

I don't get what you're saying...

...Are you saying you will think more about what you want Scales in costume to be like while you make dinner? Is that what you're saying...?

Re: OOC thread

I could see a meet up happening, classic hero stuff.
Maybe:

  • A classic bank heist stop?
  • Or how about stopping an altercation at Central Park? (Wait, did it exist in the 60s?)
  • Or maybe we both bump into each others civilian identities without knowing? Like you or Aunt Jessica go to a curiosities shop thinking "Maybe something in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein would help."

The first few that popped into my head.

1. I would be fine with the first idea.
2. I would be fine with the second idea. Central Park totally existed throughout the 20th century.
3. The third idea doesn't really seem to work...
4. See also my previous message, posted just seconds before your last message so you probably missed it...

Re: OOC thread

Yeah, while making tea, I was wondering about that. I've done it now, but does a tunic and a few ceremonial pieces of armor work? I think I'll get a crest with an dragon curved like an "S"

It does make me think of Dr Doom vibes a little I'll be honest :)

Re: OOC thread

I might have added the classic "Heros fight each other thinking they are villains." But I don't know how to contested or fight like that in a Powered by the Apocalypse system yet.

I think I have the character description sorted now, so at least I've caught up now-ish :P

Okay, I think we'll start without our possible 4th player... I'm gonna start thinking about villains and stuff...

Welcome to the gang, Silver!

What do you think about us all possibly knowing each other before the start?

Re: OOC thread

That's a good way to get things started quickly, which is useful, but it can be fun to do meeting scenes too...

Silver Streak's been at it for a while, so if anything you may have at least heard of him in the news or tabloids. We could split it down the middle, maybe we know of each other, but by reputation only?

Re: OOC thread

Now that I think of it Patch-Work would have only just started doing this, she'd be new to the whole heroing thing and to America in general.  Maybe Silver could be something of an idol for her.

Re: OOC thread

Silver Streak:

1. How did you get your powers?

2. Where do you live right now?

3. Does anyone know you're powered?

4. Do you have a day job? What do you do for money?

5. Do you have any special motivations regarding being a hero? Or does it simply seem like the morally right thing to do?

6. So, you're late-20s, yes?

7. Social situation? Single? Seeing anyone?

2. An apartment in the Bronx

3. No

4. Yes, working as a courier in the city

5. Strong sense of righting injustice by virtue of growing up around racism (raised in Tenessee during the 1950s)

6. Yep :)

7. Single and looking to mingle (not seeing anyone as of yet)

Re: OOC thread

Silver Streak: About your origin:

1. Did you see the killer? If so, describe exactly what you saw.

2. If you did, I'm sure you didn't mention getting stuck with the syringe, but did you talk to the police about the murder?

Re: OOC thread

Oooh, this is a good opportunity for a classic storyhook. Jim didnt see much of the killer, except that he was a grizzled looking man with a large scar going across his left eye. He had a shock of white hair and wasstrangely well-dressed, suit and tie.

Jim tried talking to the police at first, but they weren't interested in what he had to say. Jim quickly realized that he had to stop talking before he became a suspect.

That sound ok?

The murderer was a white guy?

How old was the murderer (roughly)?

Re: OOC thread

Yes, a white guy, mid-to-late thirties, looked like he'd gone through some serious business. After hearing a commotion, Jim went into the Professor's office and saw him bleeding out with the stranger standing over him, knife in hand. Before Jim could do more than shout the man ducked out through the side door. Jim didn't see anything else, because he went to the Professor first.

Understood... I'm guessing the guy took the knife with him, yes?
