Zeric -  I had to look it up to! haha I honestly thought it was like some version of a medieval viola/violin...I wonder, could I just say it's a viola or something to that effect?

Hey, you’re the bard, you play it however you feel like. Not like any of us uncultured murder hobos will know you’re playing it wrong.

OOC - General Out of Character thread

Got my sheet done in paper besides trinket and gold.

And my favorite past character was a drow bard/dragon disciple. Even npc'd him as a minor character when I dmd years ago. I'm just bummed about the new "pick one instrument" stuff going on

"I kill people with spells so I'm not a rough neck."

I'm not sure the dead would agree. :-)

I'll review all character sheets tomorrow, and we'll see how close we are to getting this thing rolling.

We're using the RPoL character sheet, I just forgot to turn it on for you and Yikra.

You two should both have access to your character sheets now.

Re: OOC - General Out of Character thread

Thanks! I've found a good mix of background stuff too to tie in a druidic mentor kind of thing to. The folk hero background comes with a "fairy god mother" kind of option, but no reason it can't be a druid that was involved in the death of her past life. Final draft of the dragon(re)born!

Re: OOC - General Out of Character thread

Alright, so 5/8 of you have your character sheets completed. Two of the three are very close to being done, and the third actually is done on D&DB, we just haven't filled out the sheet here yet.

I'm going to split you into two groups tomorrow (assuming the seven servers we upgraded this weekend remain stable) and we'll get this party started. Character sheets aren't done for everyone, but I think we've got enough to get started.

As far as the adventures are concerned, I'm going to start you off in the Lost Mines of Phandelver pre-made adventure, which will take you to roughly 5th level if you manage to take it all the way to completion.

Once again, this game exists to help you learn how to play 5E D&D, or how to play D&D in general (I believe everyone here has some D&D experience, even if only of early editions). Therefor, if you have questions - ASK! We do have a couple of veteran players in this game who expressed a desire to help, so I'm not the only one who can answer your questions.

Doing great Renard! And welcome Jendar!
And whoa that language thing is pretty cool. Is there an option to speak it somewhere?

Re: OOC - General Out of Character thread

In reply to Yikra (msg # 42):

There should be an option for each language your character can speak (other than Common) in the downdown box labeled 'Insert a private line:' at the very bottom of the list.

If there is an issue with the languages listed, let the GM know to be able to change it.

Re: OOC - General Out of Character thread

So I'm going to be that guy. What's your character smell like? Or do they not smell much at all?

Jandar doesn't have a strong scent, but if you get close enough it's somewhat a mix of late adolescent hormones and earthy woods. Like a teenager that got into his dad's incredibly old stash of cologne.

So what about you?

Incense with a hint of rock dust. And dont worry Yikra, the dice roller hates everyone. Atm its being nice to me so when it decides to crush me, it does it extra hard.

Re: OOC - General Out of Character thread

I'm exhausted after a day of cleaning and moving furniture in preparation for my German exchange student who'll be arriving on Saturday.

In the morning I'm going to have a quadruple extraction at the dentist to fix a problem another dentist caused when I was a teenager, so I'm gonna feel like crap tomorrow but that also means I'll probably take the day off which means more time for you guys.
