The team had seen the news about the situation around the Empire State building and Harbinger. The team had also seen Harbinger and Williams meet together on a few occasions.  Williams had spent a lot of time with phone calls and in his office more then likely trying to settle the Harbinger situation as one of the news stations was trying to switch the bad press to a positive one with Harbinger having saved the life of a young Asian man called Toa Xing, who in an interview says that regardless of what people though Harbinger should be seen as a hero regardless of what she does.

A couple days had passed and in general it was very low key. Most of the others were settled in to the base and settling some things in their personal affairs. Getting use to the faculty that was being provided to them.

[Private to White Witch: During the course of one of the nights You seem to feel a lingering presence. It’s nothing you have ever felt before. You can sense a great evil . A cold shudder slides down your spine. Nothing seems out of place as far as you can tell.]

[Private to Darkstar: You have some horrible nightmares on one of the evenings. In one of them you lose control of your Dark force power. You are having a conversation with William and Green Goblin and suddenly your powers act up on their own and You suddenly impale William and through the heart killing them instantly.

In another vision all you see is Harbinger standing above you an insane fanged smile on the symbiote’s face, tongue lashing back and forth and saliva dripping from the tongue and the corner of her mouth dripping onto your cheek. An extended hand reaches for your neck and picks you up. The symbiote’s face peels away revealing a woman’s terrified face more than likely Evelyn but it’s hard to make out, , N…nooo she screams seeming trying to regain control and the symbiote melds back to the horrific face, Shh child it will be over soon the symbiote says. As the hand is about to snap your neck you see Belial and another demonic looking face standing behind Harbinger smiling… You feel the grip getting tighter and You hear the SNAP and suddenly wake up your sheet’s are loosely around your neck. The Snap sound was from a the base of the plastic lamp that had fallen to the ground from your nightstand and cracked in two]


[Private to Spiderman: During the evening you get a tingle of your spider-sense it’s from all around and not a specific direction. It doesn’t last long maybe a second it happens a few more times during the next couple days but you can't pin point it. You do know that it is not from anyone on the team.]


[Private to Harbinger: Please let me know if Harbinger is in the base or near the base.]

Kevin struggled and kicked the sweat-soaked sheets off of himself, panting with exertion and stress.  The room was dark so he concentrated slightly and the off-colored Darkvision kicked in, revealing the room to him.

"Shit.  They'll probably make me pay for that," Kevin groused as he picked up the broken lamp.  "Oh well, it's not like I really needed it anyway."

The first nightmare, which was already fading, was weird because it was a call-back to earlier times when he'd been learning his new abilities.  He hadn't had one that bad in... years, probably.  Maybe it was Witch-girl's reaction.

The second dream had been far less usual and much more disturbing.  The face under Harbinger's mask had been young, kind of cute and utterly terrified.  And Kevin had somehow known her name was Evelyn.  Of course, he'd never seen Harbinger's full face as the closest he'd come was when she shifted her costume to "hoodie mode" and she certainly never shared her name with him, given the bad footing they'd started with.

Which meant that either he was developing psychic powers, which was highly unlikely.  Or it was Belial somehow using a dream sending.  Or nightmare sending.  Which meant he was trying to pull Kevin into a confrontation.  Which meant he thought he was ready for a confrontation.  And that he knew about Harbinger and was possibly targeting her.  Which made sense.  Pushing a serial killer of pedophiles into a serial killer of others would be right up Belial's alley.

"So now what the fuck do I do?" he asked himself.

Running straight to Nasland with "intelligence" from a bad dream seemed like a quick way to look stupid.  Figure the best thing would be to confirm the so-called intelligence.  Which meant talking to Harbinger.  Which he kind of didn't want to do because he didn't want to provoke her.

"Fuck," he decided, realizing he needed to take that risk.

Everybody wore the comms with GPS, so it was a pretty simply matter to locate her in the Shooting range.  So, after a shower to wash off the nightmare sweat and a change to his Darkstar threads, Kevin headed there.

After helping whoever wanted assistance transfer their things to their new home away from home, Galina became an elusive figure. Popping in for a meal or mediating in the common room before disappearing through a door for hours at a time. She had also developed the habit of leaving her communicator in her room at night, while she went elsewhere.

Spider-Man entered the building after being out and about in New York, feeling the need to be outside for a change. Once inside, he crossed his arms, unable to shake the feeling his spider-sense was giving him, even if it did go away after it alerted him to some kind of danger that was supposed to be around him. "That's really weird, it's supposed to only go off whenever I'm in trouble, but nothing's happened so far besides the occasional small crimes he happened to catch while I was roaming the city. I wonder if there's anyone I can talk to about this," He asked himself as he continued walking to find the rest of the team.

Octavius kept himself occupied with his work, spending most of his hours secluded in the lab. He had come to think of it as his own area and remained cordial with the others, if not slightly dismissive. He met with SHIELD regularly to fulfill his duties, though he was disappointed to find that the time away meant delegating tasks to others and moving into a more administrative role. Still, he relished the freedom and lack of oversight offered by his new surroundings.

<From Tec/Comms Room>

"One of the bravest, most heroic people I knew hated heroes.  Or at least he hated the need for them," Kevin told Galina.  "He hated them because he noted that the first prerequisite for anyone being a hero was disaster.  If a situation needed heroes it's because that situation has gone so bad horribly wrong that nothing less will do.  And Belial is a disaster, always."

"And, no I really don't want to engage.  The "smart" move here would be to nuke the general area," he told them.  "But that's gonna kill a couple hundred thousand people so we really don't want to make that our first resort."

"I'm more wondering if anyone else knows about what's going on right now," Spider-Man says, following in with the others. "Shouldn't the Fantastic Four already be there?"

Galina looked to the others to confirm that there was no reason to delay before turning back to the door. "While a calamity's brutality can highlight a hero's actions with its extremes, I would implore you to not underestimate the impact of less cataclysmic struggles. Many people vastly underestimate the effect of small choices." She replied.

Opening the tec room door once again revealed the windy sunlit balcony of the Austonian which Galina didn't hesitate to walk out onto, raising her scarf to cover her face as she did. "Perhaps they are."She answered Spiderman. "However the situation is still developing and we are going to beat all but the fastest jets, from New York at least. There is no telling who else might show up or already be there when we arrive. Who knows, maybe by the time we get there everything will be resolved and we can help the citizens get fixed up." She added optimistically.

Stepping through would reveal the sizable downtown of Austin. The transfer from the depths of the facility to the Texan capital would feel like any other step. Once through, the din of the city would be at full volume beneath them, a stark contrast to the quite white noise of the tec room.

After taking a moment to get her bearings, Galina pulled out her goggles and sat off the side of her broom, "Alright let's get flying." She said as she offered a hand to Spiderman.

As you pass the portal the first thing to hit you is the smell. Wood burning, death, and decay. You could see a few building in worst shape than others and some were smoldering. There was glass and debris in every area of the streets, There were about 9 people  lying in awkward positions on the ground, If they were not dead their bodies definitely suffered from broken bones.

From your vantage point there did not seem to be anyone alive or on a rampage.

"Alright, let's go," Spider-Man says, accepting White Witch's
Upon arriving, he immediately reaxts by saying, "Holy shit... I don't think anyone resolved this yet. I'm getting a very bad feeling right now." Right then was when he realized just how in over his head he was.

Upon taking White Witch's hand Spiderman would feel himself become weightless. Then with a light pull, she moved him over to the broom, clearly intending for him to also take a seat. As she did so, the broom also moved towards him, it seemed that both were simply floating and that besides that oddity newtonian physics was still in full effect.

The pair then shifted up slightly and off the building. They weren't pulled along by the broom, instead they all seemed to move together. Spiderman would be more than familiar with the sensation, it was as if they were falling together, only in the wrong direction.

Their flight was cut short however as she slowed to a stop only a few feet beyond the balcony. The billowing smoke that she had dismissed early as a puff of unpleasant city air, was now choking her as she had moved into its path. Looking down she destruction below, she remarked "This certainly wasn't part of the plan.."

Fishing through her satchel, she withdrew her communicator and began fidgeting with it, clearly not yet comfortable with its operation. "Hello? Hello? Hellooo?" She repeated until a reply came. "We have a situation in Austin."

"Ah, fuck-balls," Kevin said with a grimace.  "Looks like Belial decided to move the party here."

"Okay, let's head to the airport," Kevin suggested.  "Figure that's the best option to find a door big enough to bring the plane through."

He manifested his wings, bat-like, pitch black with a vaguely leathery look to them.  "Yeah, I know, they look creepy, but they work."

You Get through and seeing the chaos, You also see just off in the distance now out of the portal that This street in Austin seemed to have been the only one affected, Emergency services are scattered all over slowly moving in for clean up and rescue.

Fire trucks are putting out some fires nearby and the police have barred off a section about 3 streets wide.
Whatever happened here is over but is this a preview of what is to come?
The emergency crew seems to busy to notice you.

William turned from the controls.
Yes White Witch, What's going on? William asked turning to the team. Maybe this flight would be shorter then expected.

In reply to Darkstar (msg # 12):

"That does seem like our best bet," Spider-Man says with a nod after regaining his composure. "I'm going to keep a lookout for anything that might be on our way to give us a welcome, so far it seems like whatever caused this is taking its break."

Briefly turning to Darkstar, White Witch responded. "No. Like I said before, that is almost guaranteed to be a waste of time."

When a voice finally came through the device, she was surprised to hear William's voice and not some secretary or operator. "William, there has been an attack in Austin. There are first responders present, so we are likely witnessing the aftermath of something." She said before explaining the scene. "Should we help or should we continue to Laredo?"

Proceed as planned. I think this is what is left from Ghost Rider's initial pass. you should be clear untill you reach where we need to be.
Came the reply back

"Acknowledged. Over and out." White Witch replied before stuffing the device into her satchel and hoping William would hang up for her.

It was against her instincts to fly away from people needing help, but she knew that the people in Laredo needed their help more. Feeling uneasy about following a trail of destruction and what she might find at its conclusion, she ascended a few hundred feet. Then, if there were no objections, began to fly southwest towards Laredo. Her speed would reach about 160 mph, with her glancing over a few times to make sure Darkstar was keeping up.

Kevin took off, using the GPS on his phone to guide him toward Laredo.  The wings let him reach and maintain a top speed of around 225 mph.  Plus, since they were a Darkforce manifestation, they drew energy from the Darkforce instead of him.  A quick glance around let him see he was starting to leave White Witch and Spider-man behind.

"Oops, sorry, I'll reign 'em in," Kevin said via the comm units as he slowed down a bit.  "Once they get going it's easy to go with the flow.  Too easy."

Williams seems to have been correct, Your way to Laredo is clear, Once you approach Laredo though, This is where you can see the town looking like a warzone.

You see a few people Stumbling around in the distance to the south of you, It seems everyone is heading in that direction,

Various houses smoldering or burning, A lot more people laying in the streets.  (See Map Laredo one Uploaded,)

"Look down there," Spider-Man says as he points at the people down below  that were walking in an odd way. "They must be the civilians we were briefed about, should I slow them down now?"

With her face and eyes concealed, it was hard to make out her reaction. However Darkstar would still somehow get the distinct feeling of her rolling her eyes. She was already going past terminal velocity for her seated position, so the wind pressure was already quite unpleasant. She choose to keep the pair's speed steady as they soared towards Laredo.

Witnessing the hellscape that the town was turning into, White Witch stayed high in the sky until she saw the field, William's requested site. "Just a moment." White Witch responded. Descending into the parking lot next to the field as she scanned for signs of trouble, White Witch undid the spell on Spiderman allowing him to once again feel the earth's pull. Once landed, she began making her way into the high school. The double doors immediately in front of her would make a perfect match for the pair leading to the hanger. If no trouble presented itself, she would open the door to the base, creating a shortcut of several thousand miles.

"Let's not kick the hornet's nest any sooner than we have to," Darkstar told Spider-men.  "They're not hurting us, anyone else or each other right now so let's just leave 'em alone and hope they keep returning the favor."

White Witch didn't even break stride as she pushed through the doors, into the hanger. Her pace took her from the grey concrete side to the polished floors of the base in a heartbeat. "Hello! We got there and are ready to go!" She called out. If after a moment there was no answer, she'd repeat herself through the communicator.

From the front of the cockpit the front of the hangar changed from the steel wall and hangar doors to what looked like a window looking out into a baseball field. William heard White Witch on the comms before suddenly realizing she was standing in the new portaled doorway.



He waves to acknowledge her and turns back to the controls.

Jocasta take us through the portal, and land here onto that field.   The Jet’s engine start to hum and they headed into the portal. Rolling right out the door from New York to Laredo in less than 30 seconds
Well now I sort of feel slightly foolish for having everyone board the quinjet. Didn’t expect us to be right on target. he said reopening the hangar doors.

Once the team was all together on the field Williams set’s the first group to get ready and head out,

 Exiting the field and heading into the streets south you could make out with many people seemingly just lying on the streets It wasn’t clear if they were dead or unconscious. Looking down the street you could see A few houses  were in shambles and smoke can be seen billowing from some of them and fire from others.
Lorado looks like It was in a civil war of sorts, or some sort or attack.

 the whole route that was discussed was the map on Group T

Harbinger exited the jet and joined the others. Her body was screaming at her to do something. She hated waiting for instructions. She wanted to tear through the city to find her target and rip his guts out. But there was a plan of sorts and she couldn't risk jeopardizing it. Who knew what kind of monsters were taking advantage of the chaos though.

Bloodrager disembarked, staying close to the rest even as he looked in all directions. He turned away from the group briefly to barf up his sword, Woundhealer, and held it ready in both hands once it finished materializing from the blood.

Going back through the double doors, White Witch joined the others. Once again hopping onto her broom, she floated up until she had a good view of their surroundings. Despite the increased danger of being able to be spotted from afar. The reverse was also true. From her vantage point, she could see any trouble coming from several blocks away, before the group would encounter it.

Bloodrager's unique method of producing a weapon drew her attention briefly as she waited for the others to take the lead. As she had explained the other day, she didn't think of herself as warrior. She was instead going to sit back and observe before deciding how best to support them.

Kevin nodded to the others as they disembarked and addressed William.  "I saw a fire station that looked undamaged and there's quite a few fires around here not being fought.  I want us to head there first since it's just a couple blocks from here.  Even if it's abandoned, there might be some information there that gives us a clearer picture of what's happened here and what threats we might be facing."

"White Witch," he said, tapping his communicator. "You got anything that can give us an idea if that fire station's occupied and if so by what?"

In reply to Darkstar (msg # 29):

"An abandoned fire station in a city where there's fires going on. I have a great feeling about that," Spider-Man says once he hears Darkstar's plan. "But it's not like we can do anything else besides walk straight into the warehouse not knowing what to expect, so I can go with that idea."

"Only my eyes and an educated guess." She replied. "If you are worried about the fires, I would recommend subduing the threats first so emergency services can respond safely."

"William, what are your thoughts on how to proceed?" White Witch asked.

In reply to White Witch (msg # 31):

"Obviously, threats first.  Plus the fires seem fairly contained at the moment," Kevin said.

"The thing is, we really need some ground-level intel on what's happened here and what's still happening here," Kevin told the group.  "Figure first responders are the best folks to ask."

"I know we want to hit the warehouse and shut down B and his peeps ASAP, I want that, too, but if we go in there blind, we probably won't leave again under our own power," he concluded.

I am following the broadcasts from the emergency services, they are confirming what we know the warehouse is their main base here. The police managed to subdue one person on the outskirts, He mentioned something about a demon wanting to eat his family if he didn't follow his demands.

I suggest we continue with the main plan.

Jocasta can be heard saying on the radio.

Sir if you don’t mind I can hang back with one of the rifles we have and help start bringing in the Fire and Police. This area seems Quiet enough and as you make your way done and clear up these streets. She said holding up one of the rifles that fired the Ice bullets.

They weren’t kill shots but neutralizers that would give her and the authorities some advantage…. She hoped.

William looked at the team,

OK Two and myself and will stay behind and help the authorities to get them to start moving in.

Williams said pressing a button on his watch and producing an circular energy shield.

The rest continue with the plan, Bloodrager, Harbinger, Spider-man and White Witch
Head down Malinche or Bartlett and clear the path.

Doc and Darkstar, Barbarian remain a few minutes behind and then follow up the path to ensure no surprises are left to surprise the team and then once near the warehouse house you can regroup and investigate or engage the warehouse.

Harbinger began heading down Malinche with a noise of acknowledgement. She was eager to get to the target and tear him apart.  This Purple Man was likely only human unlike Belial. She didn't know if she could kill a demon but a human with powers she could. She broke into a full run, letting her suit enhance her speed to a degree as she moved her fangs grinning. She was excited to hurt someone.

Bloodrager listened closely. Sword did not know what Malinche was, and thought that Bartlett was some sort of fruit, but he understood following and assisting the other units in the party. Seeing as White Witch and Spiderman were more aerial, the big red man trotted after Harbinger, sword firmly in the grip of his ring-wearing hand. The ring itself was actually rather dim at the moment; Heart's attention being more focused on what the other Blood Red Swordsmen were up to currently.

"Alright, I'm going down Bartlett," He says, waiting for the others before he would begin to scout ahead. Everything still felt... Far too quiet considering the situation they were in. I don't like when it's so quiet despite a scene this bad... I better keep my guard up while I'm here. Spider-Man thought to himself.

As the plans changed and the groups split up, White Witch weighed her options. Spiderman was going one way and it wasn't ideal to have anyone alone in this dangerous situation. However, the other team consisted of a homicidal monster and an odd, alien being that she still only vaguely understood occasionally. She had faith in Spiderman, he seemed confident and leveled headed, so White Witch decided to head down Malinche with the two questionable teammates.

Steeling herself for what was ahead both literally and figuratively, White Witch flew down Malinche. She didn't need to go far, after a single block and an intersection littered with still bodies, the first dangerous person was stumbling south, away from the school. Not wanting to engage directly before gauging their ability and temperament, White Witch flew ahead of them, still several meters in the air and addressed the victim below to test their reaction. "Hello there. Can you tell me what is going on?" She asked. She was ready to evade should the affected individual throw something or leap up.

Spider-Man, upon seeing White Witch also head down another street he was taking, then jumped and began swinging down on his own, landing on a streetlight that was nearby the first person that managed to still be standing. "Hey buddy, you doin' alright over there?" he asked, wanting to see how they would respond to him before he acting.

Sword of Cup paused upon finding the first body on the ground. His head tilted left, then right, considering the sight. Raising Woundhealer over his head two-handed, he snarled and brought the blade down to plunge it into the fallen person's torso. Up and down their form he non-sliced with the healing sword, hoping that enough life was still present for the sword of mercy to keep them from truly perishing. If there were obvious serious wounds, he drew the blade through them.

She ignored survivors , she ignored the wounded, she ignored her teammate stabbing people. She moved with the focus of a Terminator. Only one thing could possibly distract her from her mission. Of course her better half was keeping a careful eye on their surroundings for that one thing. She could imagine someone taking advantage of the chaos to catch a plaything. But her primary focus was the Target, the Purple Bastard.

SPIDERMAN:

Spidey doesn’t get any answers from the corpses laying in the street he heads down a few more houses he can see on the street that the road has has been torn up something, like melted tar which makes it's way down Bartlett...

His spider sense kicks in, warning him of danger to his left.
He turns, to look and just as he does he sees a large electrified Spike heading his way from a beaten looking female civilian. She is standing by the door of a house one arm raised which was aimed at Spidey the other holding a body of a man with a smoking hole in his chest, her shirt is partially torn and one of the legs on her pants are torn off her face looks bloodied but she stares up at you with a blank look.

Harbinger / Bloodrager: White Witch

As the trio head down the other street. Bloodrager’s attempt to heal are left with no effect,

Harbinger continues her March ahead and see's the figure White Witch attempts to communicate with, the man looks unstable on his feet his brown shirt swaying in the wind his jeans partially burnt off.

As White Witch hovered,  the second she finished her question the stumbling person looks up towards her and a blast fired from his eyes, White Witch maneuvered just enough that the blast just missed her shoulder but she felt the heat emanating from it. He yelled as he got set to fire another shot. As White Witched watched it was very easy to notice the blank stare in the eyes of her assailant.

William / Two:

William and Two  the smell of the area is strong, The smell of death is heavy everywhere. The Duo head out of the school onto the Bartlett main entrance and Head north. They can see the street has been torn up something like melted tar makes a line down Bartlett. Williams assumes that this was where Ghost Rider passed by.



OOC: ok this is probably the first sequence of fight for most of the folks:
So in brief let me The Defensive action required and attack action required.

Harbinger ignored her teammate under attack. The man was entirely focused on the witch so she continued onwards silently towards the target. She began runnin, more of an bounding at top speed towards her destination. Nothing was getting in between her and tearing the villain behind this's arms off.

Spider-Man instinctively reacted by jumping over the spike and firing his webbing at it, causing it to stick to the wall of a nearby building. He landed on the ground, facing the direction of where it was thrown at him. Once he sees the woman, he says, "Hey, that wasn't very nice!" He knew there wasn't anything that he could do for the man she was holding. He thought to himself as he carefully approached her, something isn't right, I doubt that this is really her actions considering how her eyes look...

Having only barely dodged the fiery blast White Witch decided to not take chances with the subsequent. Staying still, she raised her left hand as if to stop the blast and after a moment pitch black wall formed in front of her. The square of darkness was several meters across, enough to adequately cover her floating form, at least until the attacker repositioned.

Thinking herself safe for the moment, she considered the fight ahead. Hopefully while the man was blasting away at her, one of her companions could close the distance and incapacitate her attacker. Or at least that was her line of thinking until she noticed Harbinger booking it down the street. "By the heavens.." She started before silencing herself. I followed these two, but find myself alone.

Quite bothered by the deaths of unique individuals this way, Bloodrager moved away from the still forms. His sword was, oddly, clean and free of blood despite having been used to stab the body.

That Harbinger rushed ahead seemingly senselessly confused his human elements, but the flash of light up ahead was more concerning. And... was that a darkness spell? The Witch was doing more than just fly, he guessed, and he broke into a run heading for the wall of darkness and White Witch to see what he could do to assist (or heal) her.

With the wall in place and the preparation for the attack. A Loud Clacking is heard from behind you. It was Doc Oct.

That foolish Girl is going to get herself and possibly us killed!!  Bloodrage and you hurry after her keep her safe I will handle this one!

Oct Yelled to make sure they both heard him, Doc Ock used two of his arms and planted them firmly, sending two more towards where the man was standing.

Spiderman:

Upon Spiderman’s approach again his  spider sense went into over drive again. The woman he was focused on raised her hand again but this time before she had time to use her power Spidey just avoided a man jumping from the 2nd floor window and landing with a ground shaking impact next to the wall crawler causing him to lose his footing and land on his ass in the grass,
This man seemed to be strength augmented from the crater he had just made.
From Spidey’s current position he turned to see another spike coming for him from the woman who had now dropped the body and was walking towards him.

White Witch’s’  Darkness wall seems to shimmer with another blast hits it from behind. The man was in an uncontrolled rage now, both pounding on the wall and using his beams to try to go through.
White Witch could feel that there was a fair amount of power behind the attack.

Ignoring the fight you’re full run leads you quickly down the road. You get a couple blocks down when suddenly from beneath you the ground suddenly becomes a melted puddle causing you to lose your footing and tumble head over heels onto the ground. You can feel the hot tar on you. As you look you can see 3 people surrounding you. One holds up a hand with a  fire ball, another looks to have some sort of weird Bug eyes and clawed hands, The last one looks like a savage, foaming at the mouth and grunting

As Bloodrager approached, he would see that the black square floating several meters in the air, concealing White Witch, was a wall of some variety. Although it was a little difficult to discern at first glance due, as he drew closer it became clear that the barrier was a thin plane with no perceptible thickness.

White Witch breathed a small sigh of relief as the blasts were stopped by her barrier. While she was sure it would hold against any mundane force, powers where a bit of a gamble. Was the fiery blast a concentrated blast of plasma? Perhaps a laser igniting the air? Both easily stopped. However on the rare chance it was something more mystical in nature, like drawing energy of a fire realm and casting it forth, who could say how it would affect her spell.

Unfortunately one of the many trade-offs of a more absolute barrier was the absolute lack of knowledge that penetrated it. Blind to her attacker's movements and assaults, White Witch was forced to use indirect clues to deduce what was going on. Yes, the man was shooting his blasts at her, the illuminated street and buildings was proof of that. Yes, it was quite powerful, the air coming from around her barrier was practically scolding. However she couldn't discern  more until she braved a peek under her floating bastion. It was only then did she see that Bloodrager had tired of what had assumed was mutilating corpses and was running towards the fight.

Before she could decide how to subdue the rampaging fiery eyed man, while keeping Bloodrager from becoming burnt to a crisp, an unexpected voice drew her attention. "Doctor!" She exclaimed with surprise. "Alright, but please stay safe. It would be too soon for the world to lose your brilliance." She added before dropping her dark barrier. While the spell's collapse had a sort of ripple affect as reality snapped back to normal, to the untrained eye it simply vanished in an instant.

Flying towards Harbinger in a fast and erratic pattern to avoid any further blasts from roasting her, she did a quick assessment of the situation. Three affected individuals, with varying abilities. Great. She thought as she swooped down to the roof of a parked van. She had to slow down momentarily, but with a touch to the vehicle's roof, it lurched into motion off the ground and into the air, carried by White Witch as if stuck to her hand. Then after a few seconds of lining things up, the van shot forwards ahead of her flight, careening towards the group. White Witch had aimed for a spot in between the fireball wielding man and Harbinger. She was hoping to avoid squishing anyone and instead create a distraction and give cover for Harbinger. "Watch out on your left!" She yelled out in warning.

In reply to GM (msg # 49):

"Oh, come on!" Spider-Man says as he barely rolls out of the way of the incoming spike, hopping back up to his feet. "You're really leaving me no choice!" Spider-Man yells out as he fired more strands of web at the woman's feet with one hand, then with his other hand, he fired more at her torso to either slow her down or get her stuck in place. civilians. He knew that with the stronger one, he'd have to wear him down first before he even had a chance of keeping him still.

The hot tar wasn't much of a problem. Though the tumbling was a bit embarrassing had she been more prideful. As soon as the firestarter was in the picture she could feel her better half screaming. As Witch dealt with him. She sent out two tendrils forming suffocating masks around their heads other tendrils quickly forming restraints for their arms and legs. "Go to sleep" she told them. Hopefully they'd go limp before the other could tear a hole through the van with his flames

Spiderman / Barbarian

The webbing caught the woman dead on and caused her next action to fall short into the ground in front of her, creating a slight spark as it hit the ground harmlessly. She let out a howl as she tried to break free of the webbings.

The man However started towards the wall crawler and attempted to land a blow, Spidey easily dodged the fist coming at him. The man growled at the missed opportunity.

Spidey heard something from behind him but his Spider sense did not register a threat.
As Spidey prepped for his action he heard a familiar voice from behind him.

I have him! The Barbarian says tackling and Grappling onto the brute.

As they  tumbled a few feet passed Spidey Grappling his enemy, The Barbarian attempted to drain the energy from the man . However to his surprise, There was none of the specific energy Barbarian could drain. The brute had no more hopes… no more dream… in fact there was nothing but horror and despair in this brutes shell of a mind.
The Attempt to drain the host so Barbarian could keep his form strong seemed to have the opposite effect,  The energy he drained now filled Barbarian’s / Kent’s Psyche with the fear and despair the shell of the man felt.

Barbarian’s large 7’ foot frame and large muscles which needed Kent’s mind to be positive  in order to remain the Barbarian suddenly reverted him back to a normal  6’1” Kent, the Barbarian persona now retreated back into his psyche. Kent felt the brute reverse the grip onto Kent and snapped both his wrists. Kent shouted in pain. Fear and realization now visible on the young man.

Bloodrager / Doc Ock



White Witch Lowered her barrier as one of Doc Ock’s arms streaked towards the firs spike man. Bloodrager was arriving as Doc Ock’s arm smashed into the man’s face. His fiery spike launched straight up as he tried to react to the arm now grappling his face. Doc held the man in place allowing Bloodrager a chance for a free attack.

White Witch / Harbringer

The van came flying as did the fireball. It hit the side of the van and engulfed it in flames the impact sent the van flipping a few feet above Harbinger’s head.  The symbiote felt the heat but it wasn’t enough to distract harbinger from her goal. He tendrils streaked and engulfed the enemies. The brute’s strength was formidable but the Symbiote was stronger and held him steady as he tried to rip the tendril from it’s face.

The bug man’s clawed hands tried to snap the symbiote loose from it’s face but there was not enough strength. Harbinger however did feel a sudden sharp pain  as the acid from the tendril wrapped onto it’s face released and dripped with a strange acid like substance.
The Bugman spit again at the tendrils wrapped at it’s arm and again another wave of pain hit the symbiote. Wings emerged from the bugman but he could not quite escape grasp Harbinger had on it’s legs.

While The Brute went unconscious she had to focus on the bugman and the pyro . Spinning the bug by it's legs she smirked a pained smirk under her covered face. "You ever been so mad you beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker?" she muttered and then used bug man as a club against pyro.

Bringing Woundhealer up, Bloodrager snarled like some sort of beast. The ring on his finger flared with bloody light, the ring self-fashioned from living metal that fell from outside of the multiverse, and the thematic music of the Blood Red Swordsmen began to play in an oddly atemporal fashion within the area the ring illuminated.

Liquid light flowed down the blade of Woundhealer as the sword of mercy was brought slashing down on the man's head. Had it been a normal, injurious weapon, it would have been an attack threatening to cut him in two lengthwise.

"I better help him out now that I got the other one tied up," Spider-Man said to himself before focusing his attention to the powered man. Spider-Man jumped over the two of them and fired a web at the top of a nearby building, then said to the man grappling Kent, "I need you to do me a big favor and hold on to this for a second." He proceeded by using his other hand to shoot a quick strand of web that attached the first one that was on the building to his back. He then moved back over to the front of Kent and grabbed hold of his shirt, saying, "Better brace yourself, I'm going to try to keep you on the ground with me," before firing another line of his webbing at the ground below him and holding onto it with his other hand.

Seeing that she was able to intervene in time and didn't accidentally crush anyone, White Witch gave another sigh of relief. She wasn't sure what her next move would have been, so she was glad Harbinger seemed to have a handle on the lot. Floating over, she descended until she had landed. "While I think Darkstar's worrying is bordering on paranoia, I don't think rushing in carefree is the answer either. If they-" White Witch cut off as an idea came to her. "Are you being manipulated again?"

Ensuring that the firebug and the normal bug were down and out first she turned towards White Witch. "Not unless Belial wants the guy responsible for all this armless, legless, and tongueless. Maybe Eyeless too. Possibly castrated. I don't know. I'll figure it out when I get there." She answered casually.

Spiderman / Barbarian

Kent did not reply. Spidey managed to do the catapult webbing attaching it to the highest point he could find and to the brute’s back. Spidey braced for the pull with Kent. As he felt the tug of the Brute Kent screamed in excruciating pain, the brute did not let go of his hand and with his wrists broken and partially protruding from his right hand. The catapult motion send him flying into the air ripping off Kent’s right hand in the process.
Kent fell to the ground unconscious from the pain.
The brute crashed into the house across the street. The side of the house was left with a large hole in it and Spidey could see moment, He knew the brute wasn’t down for long.

Bloodrager / Doc Ock

Doc Ock watched in confusion and annoyance as Bloodrager swung the singing sword. He had initially looked around to see where the music was coming from not expecting it to come from a weapon. But he realized now that Bloodrager was anything but unexpected.

The sword passed through the head and initially through the body but no blood or split body was seen instead but the spike man screamed in agony. It was hard to determine if the sword reacted off dark chi, dark magic or what but whatever the Woundhealer did was enough the have the body crumple to the ground unconscious,

Doc looked on unsure of what to say about the attack on Bloodrager…

Go Catch up with the others. I’ll make sure Darkstar is ready.

He said heading dropping the body and headed back to Darkstar.

White Witch / Harbringer

Harbinger brought the bugman into the air and back down in a fluid motion onto PyroDude the sickening THUD that resonated was not a promising one for the receiving end of the blow. The impact onto PyroDude snapped his neck and caused him to fall to the ground. The bugman didn’t fair much better from the impact having had probably a few ribs or his spine broken in the process. But the need to fight was stronger then the will to acknowledge pain. The bugman’s mouth twitched as it tried to spit an acid spay but it faltered and the spit didn’t make it past his chin. Simply dribbling down and burning the street under him.

Heart of Heart paused to ascertain that the man its' unit had struck was still breathing before turning to run after White Witch to join Harbinger. For Sword of Cup, the world had gone red again, engulfed in the music and the terror of the eternal nightmare he could never truly wake up from once more. As the song said 'No-one leaves The Monsterican Dream,' an apt analogy for what had happened to the six people within the Duende household since the hour that dreadful meteor came down from beyond existence bringing that which now called itself Heart of Heart into them.

He could only watch and feel his body running, sword in hand, without any influence on his path or actions. The song was in his blood, the meaning of every terrible word beating with his helpless heart. In some ways, it was worse now that Heart of Heart understood that its' units had been/were people rather than just bodies. Before, his will had been crushed, trampled, only an extension of the alien thing that had taken him over. Now, it was consciously only commanding how his flesh would be moved, not overwhelming his own thoughts. He felt like a torn glove on a homeless wino's hand, or a pair of pale green pants with somebody inside them. Unclean, defiled. And from that emotional pain power flowed.

"Darkstar's been ready for quite a while now," Kevin told Doc Ock as he appeared from nowhere in a flash of black non-light.  "Yeah, no, I didn't stay put after your little lecture, though you did make a good point, even if it wasn't quite the one you wanted to make.  You guys needed to get your feet wet and your faces bloodied without me playing tour guide, and now you have.  I was keeping an eye on you and I'd have stepped in if I thought I needed to, but I didn't so I didn't.

"Important safety tip:  Don't run the fuck off by yourself unless you just want to end up as another one of the bad guys' sock puppets," he told Harbinger as he indicated the incapacitated attackers.

"All right.  Let's reconfigure this shit just a little bit," he told the group.  "I'll take topside to deal with aerial threats and otherwise act as overwatch.  Figure once Spidey and Barbarian get back here, Spidey can take point on the ground.  Harbinger, fall back a bit in case somebody tries to assfuck us.  Witch, you and Bloodrager stay in the center and take care of him.  Once Barbarian gets here he can join you.  That thing he did with the sword looks to be really effective against DMZombies and their supered up cousins, so he'll definitely be one of B's targets once B knows about it.  Spread out enough to have room to maneuver but stay close enough to react to threats to the rest of us and so the rest of us can react to threats to you.  This isn't brain science of rocket surgery, just common sense and basic tactics."

"Everybody cool with that?" he asked, most rhetorically.  "If so, let's move out and get this shit done."

"Figure that Purple Prick might well try to whammy us by coming up from behind, so you'd actually be in a better position to disembowel him by playing rear guard, but have it your way," Kevin told her.  "You want to take point, go for it.  Spidey can help watch our backs when he gets back here."

Suddenly Kevin teleported into her path.  "But.  But, as far as my nightmare goes.  You're missing the point.  In that dream, you didn't want to kill me.  You were being forced to kill me against your will.  Belial was forcing himself on your mind the same way your nasty-ass daddy forced himself on your body.

"I get it.  I do.  Horrible shit happened to you starting in your crib.  On some level some part of you is always going to be that broken, victimized baby.  But for this job, right now, you need to grow the fuck up and push past that," he told her.  "You want your personal revenge?  You metric fucking ton of flesh?  Cool by me.  If anyone deserves a Harbinger special it's Belial and friends.  But the only way you get to have that is by working with the rest of us.  As a team.  You don't have to like it.  You don't have to like me.  But you need to do this.  Take all that rage and hate and fury, compress it down and keep it controlled instead of letting it control you. Then, when you get your shot - and I'll make sure you get your shot or I'll die trying to make it happen - you let loose that rage to burn Belial to fucking ashes.  And then sweep 'em behind a bush and take a piss on them just to be sure.  Cool?"

I will take the rear guard because you know what's going to happen? you're going to rush through the doors at our destination and put your hands on your hips and shout "Stop right there criminal scum!" and five seconds later you'll be licking the shit off his boots You and whoever goes first and when I show up I'll have to fight everyone he's put the Whammy on all by myself. So I'll either die fighting you all or prove i don't need this team by destroying you all. So for me its a Win Fucking Win. So please go first." she stepped away arms out stretched acquiescing to his wish with a manic grin on her face.

Bloodrager paused in his run, and came to a brief stop. He tilted his head regarding Kevin when he appeared and started giving orders to someone (Doc) who the hive mind had thought was above either of them in the team hierarchy.

The music still played around him, carried on the bloody light of the ring.

His red, bearded face broke into a grin, then guffaws of laughter at the orders Darkstar issued and the interaction following between Harbinger and Darkstar. Still laughing, Bloodrager strode forward forcefully to the bodies Harbinger had left, driving Woundhealer into each with firm, strong stabs. The only blood on the blade was the light, both going in and coming back out, the flesh it pierced whole and unsundered afterwards.

Hearing the brewing fight, White Witch extended her arms, ready to use a spell to separate the two and was subsequently surprised when it proved unnecessary. Once the the tense moment passed, she addressed Darkstar. "No. I will continue to support everyone to the best of my ability, as I see fit. You are neither a leader nor a commander. If you were either, you wouldn't rile people up then expect them to act logically and rationally."

"Yes yes, we'll fail and you'll murder all of us." White Witch agreed with Harbinger dismissively. She obviously didn't agree, but felt that it would be pointless to argue. "Now let me see you for a minute. If your judgement is being affected, then the target might be close by. If they are currently altering your emotions, then I'll be able to pinpoint their location." She explained as she walked up to Harbinger.

When Bloodrager started laughing and ethereal singing began to accompany the music, White Witch turned her attention to him briefly. The man? creature? still continued to puzzle her. The only thing she understood about him was that that she didn't understand anything about him.

Upon Bloodrager’s examination you feel a feint pulse, The body was still alive. Though it was still a mystery to know if it was still as a normal human or a possessed one.

The trio continued to bicker about plans and actions. Doc watched the area not saying a word. He had actually taken a few steps back from the infantile arguing.  And opted to go check on Spiderman and Barbarian from the rear to ensure they were ok , But the Harbinger, Darkstar  duo were going to get the team killed with their constant bickering.


Enough of this! Even I am an Arrogant Ass at times but that is no way to talk to teammates! He said agreeing with White Witch on that point.

William left you folks alone to see how you would handle yourselves together. I think the Witch is the only sound one here. He looked around back to Bloodrager. Turn off that damn sword before you get us killed! Realizing that stealth would not be on the agenda if this was Bloodrager’s power.


I do agree about the not running off! Stay together in whatever position you need to be and watch your backs.

Doc Partially agreed with the somewhat plan.

Yes Darkstar you can take aerial point…   Doc was interrupted on the coms as they got ready.


If someone can see Spiderman get to him and help with cover we have a man down. Sending help to him now. William wasn’t sure why Spidey and Barbarian were no longer with the others but was too late now it seemed. The local authorities and emergency services are on their way slowly to start with rescue and putting out fires. We are on our way to you. Meet up at corner of Meadow and Corpus Christi streets a few blocks down.

Harbinger said nothing ignoring the Doctor and staying in the back to let the group go first. She wanted nothing to do with Nick Carter and his holier than thou know it all attitudes always trying to get under her skin. To wriggle his way inside her like a burrowing insect laying the larvae of self doubt and rage. Nor was she particularly inclined to trust the Witch. She didn't want her messing around with her head. It was messy enough already. And then Doc stepped in with the commanding demeanor of a leader though she herself hadn't even had a single conversations with the man. No this wasn't going to work. She turned her back on them and walked off.

Bloodrager looked Doc's way when he heard him speak, not laughing but dispassionate and emotionless again. He listened, then looked at his sword in confusion.

He stabbed it into the person whose heart was still beating a few times, trying to heal them further before obeying Doc's command.

Holding Woundhealer out at arm's length one-handed, he commanded it "Coagulate!" The sword shimmered, reverting from metal and stone to a sword-shaped mass of scab. "Dissolve!" The sword-scab began to melt back into fresh blood, pouring and dripping messily downward over a handful of seconds until it was gone, returned to whence it had been summoned. The music continued unabated in the bloody light of the ring, and Bloodrager didn't seem bothered that his hand and wrist were drenched in blood as he turned away from the fallen foes to head towards the Witch.

"It's exactly the way to talk to teammates if you want to rile them up or piss them off," Kevin told Doc Ock.  "And I do.  Purpleguy's a feelings fucker.  He screws with emotions.  Without knowing how, the best defense against shit like that is going into it stubborn and pissed off."

Kevin waved a hand and indicated the group.  "Stubborn and pissed off."

"Figure stealth isn't gonna be a big issue either, so Bloodboy may as well pull out his big-ass singing shiv since it's likely the fastest, simplest way to take out those on DMZ," Kevin told him.  "Don't agree?  Look at the data.  DMZers with extra super-shit are rare.  And yet the first thing we run into off the plan are three suped-up DMZers.  Plus whatever-the-fuck happened to Barbarian and Spidey.  B knows we're coming.  He threw this welcoming party to see how we'd react and what we could do.  His version of market research."

"And if my sarcasm, snideness or rudeness pisses you or anyone else off, that's good," Kevin said.  "Maybe you won't get turned into a Purple Sock Puppet that way."

Seeing Harbinger walk off, White Witch groaned. She resisted the urge to call out and reason with the woman. She knew that at the moment, her words would be wasted. Instead she turned and addressed Darkstar. "Stop trying to pretend that your abuse is doing anything other than satisfying yourself. You've done nothing but sow discord amongst the team. The idea that it will somehow impede the enemy is laughable. Instead of a calm, clear mind where influences might seem foreign, you've set the stage for darker thoughts to feel like a natural progression. Your efforts progress our enemy's plans."

Harbinger ducked out of sight and down a manhole when nobody was paying attention to her sealing it back inconspicuously and moving through the sewers alone with the quiet. She was glad to be rid of those assholes. She should just take off from here. Destroy the comms unit and go completely rogue. For the moment at least she deactivated it so she wouldn't have William nagging her. She would make her way to the original target underground and alone and deal with them on her terms. "That Belial is too much of a coward to face me. So I'll eviscerate his little henchman." she growled internally.

"First off, what team?  There is no team here," Kevin told her.  "There's just a loosely affiliated gathering of individuals who theoretically shares a set of general goals."

"Second off, what calm, clear mind?" he asked her.  "If your mind is somehow calm and clear, that isn't self-control, just ignorance.  Being pissed off is better than being scared shitless, which is what I actually am underneath all this charm and witty repartee."

"And third off, you were right.  Harbinger was being emotionally manipulated.  By me," Kevin confessed.  "Specifically, she was manipulated to do what she's just done, cut us loose and likely go for B on her own.  Harbinger is a fucking fountain of rage, fear and pain.  B will want play with her like a cat does a mouse and it might distract him enough to let us get through."

"I believe I mentioned earlier that I wasn't a hero, just an asshole criminal going after someone way worse," told them.  "Harbinger'll give us cover.  Let's meet up with the rest of so-called "team" and get this done."

Two / Barbarian ………….Spiderman

Two Arrived near Spidey’s location and Gasped seeing his hands had been torn off.
The others are not far on the other street. Two indicated to Spiderman,
I got this, Go Join them. Two pulled out a walkie talkie that the emergency team had given her. And called in Kent’s situation.
She said now proceeding to help Kent in any way she could, She ignored Spidey and focused on the Walkie talkie to the medical advise she was being given by the emergency crew.

Evelyn dropped to her knees and closed her eyes extending her arms. "If that's what you need .. What you desire... go to him. You know I would never hold you back. I only want what's best for you." she said softly to her companion.

Although her face was concealed, her tone gave away her anger. "Not everyone is as haunted by your failures. And you-" She stopped when the malevolent force made itself known.

She stood wearily, ready to react with a spell until the vision came to her. Disbelief and fury filled White Witch as it unfold before her, but she didn't give into it nor let herself lose focus. Even as the horrific scene unfolded, she began tracing the mental connection. She wasn't asleep for this nightmare and she was going to make sure this intrusion went answered.

Sorry I'm late everyone, Had a bit of a run in with the-" He stopped mid-sentence as he saw... Something. While it didn't mean much to him, what happened at the end was enough to make him quickly shake his head as he shut his eyes only opening them again once what he was seeing was over. Okay, that was definitely the creepiest thing I've seen in my life. He thought to himself, thankful that he was masked so no one was able to see that it was enough to mess him up for a short while.

Bloodrager did not know what this new arrival was, but when he saw something in their hands he froze in shock. A surge of power blazed along his nerves at the betrayal of trust and safety that he perceived... until the newcomer did something utterly impossible. Both of the red man's minds realized in seconds that what he/they were seeing wasn't real. His fist lifted the ring to eye level in front of him, and he gazed at its' light, the surface of the band intact rather than boiling away into oblivion as ought to have been happening if what he'd seen was the truth. This town was a dungeon, wasn't it?

"Illusionist!" Bloodrager spat, the ring dimming and a furious rage coming to his bearded face when the music stopped. "RRRRAAAGHHH!" Big red was going berserk again.

At the vision before him, Kevin's memory dragged him into the past, more than seven years ago.  It was well before Belial had been so much as a whisper.  Kevin had been fifteen.  Young, dumb and greedy.  That the drugs were super-cheap had seemed a blessing instead of the warning it should have been.  Mom was facing eviction, so Kevin grabbed a lifeline.

Of course the drugs were tainted.  Adults got fucked up and not in the "good" way.  The kids had died.  The guy who'd sold Kevin the drugs had ended up in front of the Dade County Courthouse.  Well, his dismembered corpse had ended up there.  The Santiago cartel did not fuck around.  Kevin had just been lucky they'd never figured out that the dude who'd sold to the kids had been Kevin.

But Kevin knew and it had haunted him.  It had fueled his determination to never be fooled like that again and to stick with the soft drugs.  And now those wretched bodies were piled up in his face, victims of his greedy stupidity.  His oldest bad mistake.

Thrown into his face again, it should have crippled him.  But it didn't.  It hurt.  The guilt was a hot acid in his brain.  But Belial had pushed him into making other mistakes.  Mistakes that cut deeper and hurt more.  So, Kevin dug deep and sucked in a breath and did one of the hardest things he'd even done.

He started to laugh.  It was a guttural, coughing, ugly thing at first.  He had no breath for snide comments or even encouragement to the others.  All he could do was push himself, force himself to laugh.  To laugh in the face of D'spayre.

The illusions fade and D’yspare stands and laughs.
Looking at Harbinger willingly give up the Symbiote.
Foolish girl, The Symbiote knows you are just a pit stop on his quest for hunger.

The illusion is lost on the Symbiote and Evelyn looks up she sees the symbiote stretch off her face and look at her. Get up! We had a deal! It says to her.

  it is tempting but this is not the time. We all need you! the symbiote tells Evelyn as it melds back with her. Once it is back on Evelyn she understands that there is more here… it is just D’yspare that is standing… feeding on her fear and Despair.

Bloodrager/ Darkstar / Spiderman

Spiderman’s spider sense go off the charts at the sudden danger, it’s overwhelming and it’s unclear where the danger is from… it’s just everywhere!

Bloodrager’s beserker mode kicks in and Big Red preps to attack .

Darkstar in his laughter of coping with the situation lifts his head to look at D’yspare .

But the trio cannot react quick enough as D’yspare sends a blast fo Firey energy towards the group.

The blasts shatters the ground at your feet and sends everyone backwards and off balance.

D’ypare laughs. Ghost Rider may of gotten rid of Purple man but was no match for us! You think you pathetic hero’s will be?  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Harbinger got to her feet and growled. "If you won't leave me for something better than stop making these suggestions...or keep these images out of my head. I will not be toyed with. I will not be used. I will not offer again." she marched onward with rage in her heart. Someone was going to die today.

Knocked off balance, in fact off his feet entirely, by the sudden ground-breaking, Bloodrager rolled back up to a crouch. Snarling, he rose to his feet and charged the nearest of his teammates, fists clenched for a wild flurry of healing punches.

Kevin's laughter caused him to stumble and fall as the demonic figure's blast struck the ground near them.  Near them, not at them.  The memories and guilt receded somewhat, letting Kevin think.

"You missed," he said with a chuckle.  "Except you didn't.  You didn't hit anyone because you're not allowed to, are you?  The spooky ghost look was supposed to be scary, but all it does let us see that Belial's got his hand up your ass."

"By the way, thanks for cluing us in about the Purple Man and Ghost Rider," Kevin told the thing.  "We were concerned about how to deal with them.  Now that we know they're out of the way, it gives us hope!  So that's a fuck up on your part.  Best you fly away before your master gives you a spankin'."

As he spoke, Kevin brought up his force field and gathered his power, moving between the figure and the rest of the group, trying to draw its attention to himself to give them a chance to recover and fight off its influence.

Dread filled White Witch as she saw the greater machinations behind the appearance of the being before them and its actions in Texas. This is too great a foe for them. This evil is far beyond them, and maybe even me. This isn't a time to hold anything back, I must destroy his conduit to this plane before things get worse. She thought to herself as she let the tracing spell fade.

As the ground quaked beneath her, White Witch floated a few inches off the ground. The smallest motion had been enough to set herself levitating once more, resisting the worst of the blast's effects. Stretching her arm out to her side, she closed her fist and a blade appeared just beyond her hand. Like the barrier before, the blade appeared entirely black without any form, only a shape harshly contrasting the area around it. This time however the thin sheet of darkness was mobile and moved with the motion of her hand; a detail made apparent as she pushed off the ground and launched herself at the figure in the sky.

Soaring into the air as if she was launched from a cannon, White Witch surged towards D’yspare. While her goal was to cleave the maleficent being in two with a slash, she knew that the he wouldn't allow himself to be approached so easily and she ready herself to dodge or cut spells apart with her blade.

Unable to react quick enough to avoid the attack, Spider-Man landed placed a hand on the ground and flipped backwards to get himself back on his feet. "Hey, if you give up nicely now I promise I won't hurt you too much." Even though he knew there'd probably be no way he'd be able to land anything unless there was already a distraction for him.

Bloodrager / Doc Ock

Bloodrager’s heads to Doc Ock as he was the only one that had been left flat on his back  focused so much on seemingly having lost his arms. The fall caused a cut to his head but soon Bloodrager’s flurry of fists make short work of the cut.
The hit to the head caused Doc to now realize him losing his Tentacle arms was just an illusion. GET OFF ME ! He shouts angrily at Bloodrager. Hi anger wasn’t directed to the Big Red Man and was more due to his pride being hurt and for being made to look like a fool.
You will pay for that! Doc Says getting back up angrier than ever.


Spiderman

It was hard to see if D’Yspare was looking at Spidey or not but it seemed he had heard the wall crawler’s quip

Darkstar

You don’t get it do you Kevin! The only puppet here is you boy!

D’Yspare says as his form changes into Belail. His eye now a set of mouths his skeletal form gone replaced by a man dressed in an all-white suit.

all those breadcrumbs, me being just out of your reach, the new drug that you believed to be safe… You have allowed me to grow more powerful.

D’Yspare reverted back to his skeletal form and launched another fiery energy blast at Darkstar’s shield. The blast was intense creating a large spark of energy in all directions as it hit the shield causing Darkstar to slide back about a foot also causing the Darkforce shield to crack slightly but not give way.

You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into boy…

As he was about to finish the sentence White Witch was seen launching herself over Darkstar.

White Witch

D’Yspare Smiled as White Witch’s launching blade attack came at him. The smile faded as the blade passed through the intangible body of D’Yspare. However the supernatural element of the blade still seemed to have cause some sort of desired effect as D’Yspare let out a cry of pain.

Arrrgghhh he said clutching his side but revealing no visible damage.
You shall all suffer the same fate!!!

He waved a hand and a Portal opened up a few feet above to reveal an unconscious man in a leather coat wrapped in chains above a scenery that looked like the deepest recces of hell.

Even the powerful Ghost Rider could do nothing against us!

She went to the final destination coming out of a manhole in the alley where her target should be according to William's intelligence. She stood outside the building before smashing the doors open and began searching for her prey.

Kevin couldn't really help it, even knowing what the skeletal form was doing, knowing it was a trick, even the form of Belial made him flinch a bit.  And then the White Witch attacked and seemed to hurt the thing.  And then the portal opened.  And Kevin had an idea.

This is a bad idea.  This is a really bad idea.  This is a monumentally, utterly, stupidly bad idea, Kevin thought even as he implemented said Bad Idea.

"Hold the door if you can, Witch!" Kevin called to her as he took off flying, then teleported past the skeletal being and flew through the open doorway into, well, Hell.

He hoped to reach the unconscious figure and bring him back through the portal to Earth.  He hoped his force field was up to keeping him from getting incinerated.  He hoped the Witch would be able to keep the door open long enough for them to get out.  Most of all he hoped that this Really Bad Idea wasn't about to have eternal consequences for him.

Bloodrager jumped back, snarling bestially at Doc but obeying the command to get off of him.

He looked quickly left and right for another teammate to pound on.

The momentum of her skyward charge carried White Witch far past D’Yspare. As she looped around, she noticed that despite getting a clean hit, the evil entity was not writhing in two separate pieces, but was instead merely annoyed. It seemed that D’Yspare wasn't in this dimension enough for splitting space to have a noticeable effect. It had likely been simple feedback through whatever magic he was using to manifest himself into this world that had caused him discomfort.

Already considering retreat as she came around for another strike, White Witch morale dropped further when she was shown Ghost Rider's fate. Her plan had been to strike once more then start tossing her allies to safety through doorways, but it seemed Darkstar had other, insane ideas.

As he dove through the portal, White Witch swooped down and lurched to a halt next to the portal and consequently near D’Yspare. "You moron, get back here!" She yelled as she reached out touch the portal and reinforce it with her own magic. The strain caused her gloved hands to glow with a pale yellow light and the complex task had her closing her eyes to concentrate. Worry filled her as she hoovered in the air inches away from hell and close to D’Yspare. Motionless and blind to her surroundings, she could only hope that she wasn't killed supporting this near impossible plan.

"You know, I'd probably have a good amount of nickels every time someone told me that," Spider-Man said to D'Yspare. "So, what was your plan in bringing us here? Can't be that you targeted us specifically, or else you would've gone straight to New York."

Harbringer

As she arrived to the entrance even through the Symbiote Harbinger could feel the cold. The building before her seemed like it was just a black Mass similar to her symbiotes suit. It waved and shimmered  but didn’t seem to reflect the light, instead just absorbed everything.
As She smashed through was could be made to look like a door She no longer stood outside the darkness enveloping her….

[Private to Harbinger: you pass through the wall of the Dark tower and Within you see probably a thousand of the civilians upon seeing you they all turn and get ready to attack you. You can feel the anger intensify inside this tower more anger then you have ever felt before…]

Darkstar

Darkstar was swift and suddenly ended up in a scene that was pretty much Equivalent to Hell. On approach to the unconscious man. The impact was hard and heavy. Thankfully his force field took the brunt of the hit, However his face took the other blunt as he ended up ran into an invisible wall just before reaching the man. The laughter that followed sent a very intense shudder through Kevin’s spine.

Just beside the chained man came a figure that rose from the brimestone below. The fanged smile, horned head and fiery hair of the malevolent 20 foot being that now stood before bloodied faced Darkstar.

Ghost Rider thought he had a chance against me and look where he is! You really think you will have a chance against me you puny flea! Mephisto shall end you!!! Mephisto said lifting Darkstar up in the same sort of chains that held Ghost Rider… Darkstar could feel the burn of the chains.

Bloodrager

Bllodrager looked around and it seemed things were happening fast, he caught slight glimpse of Harbinger ducking into the sewer and vanishing.

Darkstar heading into the portal.

Spiderman trying to keep D’Yspare distracted,

and suddenly Doc Ock lunching with his arms also,

Doc Ock
Doc Ock was not happy and made his approach 2 tentacles aimed at D’Yspare and two trying to reach after Darkstar or into the portal.

You will no longer….. Doc’s word stopped as his tentacles reached D’Yspare and passed through the intangible being.

<Green> WHITE WITCH LOOK OUT/<green> Doc Screamed as he attempted to shift his tentacles from hitting White Witch in the back.

He had just enough momentum to barely miss her back but his clawed end did clip White Witch in the shoulder cutting it open.

Although D’Yspare used this to his advantage and cause Doc Ock to see his tentacles Impale White Witch and watching as her spine came out he chest..
D’Yspare laughed at the attempt as he turned and looked at the Witch Witch.

Your teammates are making this too easy for us!
He says as his fist raises for another blast of Fiery energy towards White Witch


White Witch

White Witch reached the portal in an attempt to hold it open. Her powers forced to it’s limits trying to keep the breach open. She saw the scene unfold inside the portal and saw Mephisto in his full and menacing form.

White Witch Turned as Doc yelled his warming and shifted just enough but she felt one of the claw ends just clip her shoulder, the pain caused her to buckle a little and the portal shrank ever so slightly before she regained some control of it. She turns as see’s D’Yspare set to blast her.

Harbinger pushed through the inky black wall if the tower [Private to GM: Harbinger pushed through the inky black and faced the crowd and continued forward tossing aside, shoving, knocking unconscious, or whatever else it took to get ahead. The rage and negative feelings made her stronger and stronger and was able to spread over a larger area  if she wanted she could devour and cover the entire crowd but she kept moving forward with one goal to destroy the monster who was fucking with her feelings.]

The imminent prospect of eternal damnation wonderfully focused Kevin's mind.  Abruptly he saw two futures.  In the first he summoned all his power and will, pitted them against the chains and they held.  Easily.  As easily as a cruel boy holding fly in preparation to pull its wings and legs off.

Im option two, didn't try to fight Mephisto.  Here, in Hell, his place of power he was beyond challenge.  But perhaps he wasn't beyond negotiation.  After all, devils liked to make deals.  All the TV shows said so.  So...

"I'm not... against you," Kevin panted, feeling the fiery chains grow still hotter.  Soon he wouldn't be able to speak or think.  Just burn.  "I'm against Belial."

"I was... trying to... get him," Kevin nodded toward the other chained figure.  "To use... against Belial... and.. the other one."

"You know they're...using you," Kevin gasped through his pain.  "Belial is... using you.  To take us out... like so much trash... You're his garbage demon.  You're... stuck here... He's out there.  Getting power... should be yours... claiming souls that... should be yours... andARRGGGHHH..."

"Free us... Use us.., Like he's using you..." Kevin cried, the pain burning through his capacity to speak and think.  "Deal?"

The blood-reddened mind of the big red man briefly considered possible targets, through the haze of his rage. Doc had ordered him to get off, so he couldn't pound on him. Harbinger wasn't in sight, nor was Darkstar now. No William or Two or Barbarian either. That left Spidey or the Witch, and the Witch was up in the air.

He tried to go for the human spider in a way that, if his blows had been normal, probably would have caused a lot of pain or injury. But given who and what he was, he wouldn't be harming the friendly neighborhood webslinger, just trying to heal him annoyingly with his punches.

You Fool, who do you think gave him his power! D’yspare, or rather Belail’s soul belongs to me! Look at all the souls he has given me!!  You see a dark Tower, the darkness lifts and you can see Harbinger shredding anyone and everyone in her path inside the tower.

 As Mephisto raises his hand and makes a fist the chains Tightened even more around Darkstar. b> now see who is really in charge here!!  </b>

Mephisto starts sucking the air around him and Darkstar was close to losing the battle… He could feel his soul getting ripped out of his body.

Enough Mephisto! You may of gotten me by surprise before, but now it’s my turn! The man next to Darkstar awoke from his comatose stupor and suddenly his flesh melts away leaving only a skeleton on fire! He flexed hard and several fiery spikes protruded from Ghost Riders Body shattering the chains and dropping him to the ground.

You have done enough damage on this day!

The Ghost Rider reaches up and snaps the chains holding Darkstar. Then Turns to face Mephisto.

<be> Get back out that Portal! I’ll deal with him. </b> </orange> he says as his skull starts to blaze even more.


Harbinger
Harbinger’s rage as she passed through the crowd was too much. Evelyn black out for the psychic backlash. She awoke not knowing how much time has passed and all the people that had been within the dark tower were dead. The symbiote having completely let loose ripping every last person inside to shreds. She sat on the floor breathing heavily.


Bloodrager / Spiderman / Doc Ock
Bloodrager approached Spiderman and started striking him. When Spidey realized the blow’s were hitting him but were not hurting and instead he felt a strange sensation passed through him and he felt re-energized.

D’Yspare laughed at the chaos and s blast headed for Doc ock and Spidey. Spiderman’s spiders sense warning them of the attack, was able to dodge but Doc wasn’t so lucky The blast striking him in the face knocking him back a few feet. His arms falling limp next to him.
D'Yspare turns to White Witch

Your turn Witch !!! he says raising his hand creating a spear of blackness and aiming it at her.


White witch

White Witch was doing all she could to keep the portal open but it was fading fast and with the new wound hurting she was losing her grip and focus.

There was nothing Kevin could do for (or with) Harbinger right then, so he focused away from her.  And then, relief.

It wasn't clear whether the fire-skull dude was confident or just insanely deluded, but Kevin damned well knew an exit cue when he saw one.  "Give him Hell, GR!" Kevin called to his demonic savior as he flew top speed at the door.

After.  After a bare second's delay to grab a length of the chains that had recently imprisoned and tortured him.  Chains infused with Mephisto's power.

Through the portal he saw D'spayre about to impale White Witch with a dark spear of hellish power.  Kevin viciously put down his own pain and fatigue, putting an uttermost effort into driving through the clearly closing window back to his own world.

With a desperate effort he burst through and flew right at D'Spayre.  "Hey, bitch!  Remember that spankin' I mentioned?  Well, here it fuckin' comes!" Kevin yelled as he lashed out at D'spayre, using the chain like a whip, trying to strike him before he could murder the White Witch.

Staring at the carnage around her she could feel bile rising in her throat like a sickening venom inside her. She slowly got to her feet and pressed onwards. "Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill." she repeated like a mantra as she went deeper.

Doc Looked up with broken glasses, His eye bleeding as some of the glass pierced his left eye.

Bloodrager! He yelled! Covering his eye.
He slowly got to his feet a little disoriented. This time staying defensive.

As Darkstar jumps clear of the portal, White Witch lets out a slight sigh of relief. And releases in time to see D’Yspare, Darkstar’s chain slams into D’yspare,His ethereal body unable to resist the Chains taken from the Hell realm. He doubles over as he releases the Spear just missing White Witch by a mere inch as the tips passes across her neck and slices a little of her hair.

D’Yspare says Turning to look seemingly in the distance holding his side in pain. D’Yspare seemed to feel the Other battle with Ghost Rider and Mephisto. This is not over!  .

He turned and waved his arm and disappeared. Leaving the group to try and regroup

Harbinger was losing her grip with the Symbiote as if allowing it to take complete control. But something snapped her back briefly. From behind her the Fiery portal opened up and out came the Ghost Rider.

I sense more innocence Lost!   He says as Harbinger turns as see’s Ghost Rider’s eyes’ flare. He grabs Harbinger by the throat and the Symbiote can feel the heat. But for some reason cannot escape his grasp.

Vengeance of a Penance stare to show the pain you have inflicted!!!!

He says unleashing the penance stare onto Harbinger,
They Both scream in pain. The penance stare allows those who have taken innocents to feel the pain they have inflicted on their victims and return it to the victimizer. But in this Case. The Alien Symbiote didn’t have any regret and since it was somewhat shielding Evelyn. She could feel some of the remorse and pain and a rush of an odd sensation of peace and calm come over her, As if releasing some of the inner turmoil,  also didn’t have all that much regret. Which caused the Rider to fall to one knee.
Your pain and Burden! That should not be yours to bare alone!   he says to Harbinger,

She laughed slightly. "No its is mine to bear alone. You think anyone can save me. I don't think you understand me at all. I can't control my other half it could kill this world and destroy even me if it needed to. Any "affection" it might have for bonding to me It will still do what is best for itself. And the people I've killed? Over a thousand monsters. I've killed more monsters than you've likely ever have add the number of people you've saved and my kills outweigh your numbers still. And I don't regret anyone I've killed. I only regret that It was in charge when my father was rendered into tenderloin.  But no. I need no penance. I am a Monster of Justice." She forced the Symbiote towards the Ghost Rider despite his flaming skull. Forcing it to engulf him. "Your Rage could give it an eternity of food. Your Justice could shape it into more than just a killer if you tame it. Never again will it kill an innocent. Take it. Master it. Make it a Hero I cant be." she pleaded

In reply to Dr. Octopus (msg # 103):

Turning, the big red man ran at Doc, bits of bloody 'spittle' flying from his snarling lips as he moved. Seeing blood seeping past Doc's hand over one eye, his ring burst into light and music once again. But he slowed down as he approached, rather than pounding on the Doctor, calming down from his barbarian rage to see better what the injury was. And still mindful of the standing order to 'get off me'.

Doc watched as D'Yspare vanished.
i don't understand. He could of had us. Doc looked around staying on gaurd.

he looked and gave Bloodrage a nod of acknowledgment.

He was in pain and in need of help. He understood what Bloodrager had been trying to do but then wasn't the time,

Yes, I could use the help now. he said using his arms to sit on.

Thought you probably would have been more useful in the fight then running around heal hitting your allies. he tells the large red man.

Something I saw in one of the visions, When William returns let him know that I thank him for his help But I can not stay with the group. My Clan is in trouble and what needs to be done can not be done with normal people.

As she spoke you could see something shimmering just behind White Witch.

The Symbiote came close but the HellFire surrounding Ghost Rider was too much for it as it hissed at the approach and couldn’t or wouldn’t approach it.

Harbinger fell to her knees in the Dark Tower. She would be straddling the line between weapon and feral forever it seemed. She closed her eyes taking a breath. She was so very tired of fighting. Tired of Rage and Despair. Even returning to her old ways wouldn't make her feel better now. Darkstar had shown her the truth and now even her killing the wicked was tainted and made sour. An obligation not a passion.

In reply to Dr. Octopus (msg # 108):

Spider-Man took a few moments to focus before saying, "No nothing right now. But that doesn't mean that we're out of the fire just yet." He then turned to Bloodrager, saying, "Oh, thanks, it still takes time getting used to your healing, I tend to more uh... Expect getting a beatdown now."

"This hurt him so he ran like a bitch," Kevin told Doc as he held up the chain.

"Here, you're probably the strongest one still here," Kevin told Spider-man as he handed the chain to him.  "So next time you see that ghost-demon motherfucker, you use that to bitch-slap his teeth right out of his mouth, cool?"

"Meanwhile we're down yet another person," Kevin summarized.  "All right, let's give Naslund a sit-rep."

Unfortunately, Naslund seemed to be incommunicado for the moment.

William pulled up to the building in a police cruiser having just missed Ghost Rider, Guess seeing the police car he wasn’t going to stick around and play 20 questions with guns pointed at him. As Williams stepped out the Dark tower seemed to fade and reveal the warehouse. Ghost Rider’s intervention seemed to have broken the hold the dark Dimension had here. He was unaware that D’yspare had taken the fight away from the warehouse. So he entered cautiously with his energy Shield up. The interior smelt of death…. He slowly walked in and noticed Harbinger on her knees and the bodies of the dead townsfolks littering the warehouse floor…. But couldn’t see anyone else.

Harbinger… Evelyn?
He looked around and slowly approached her.

Are you ok? Where are the others?
He said with concern in his voice fearing the worst.

She just stared at the ground seemingly oblivious to William's presence.  Staring at the floor she was so very tired.  Slowly a bitter chuckle exited her lips. "That's why you chose me. Because I'll never die. No matter how much you feed off me. No matter how far I go. I don't die. That's why. heh immortality... heh...hehehehehe" she began chuckling then laughing violently.

Evelyn! What's going one? William said keeping some distance for now.

He tapped the com badge. This is William, anyone out there?

He asked not getting anything from Harbinger for now.

The comm chirped.  "About fucking time," Kevin muttered.

"Yeah, we're here," Kevin reported.  "Some injuries but 'rager is punching us all better.  Barbarian's still in a coma and White Witch took off with some dude in a red cape calling himself Professor Weird, no, wait, wrong.  Dr. Strange.  Something about her clan being in danger.  I've been through literal Hell, so I'm kind of tired, but that D'spayre booked out of here once he got for real hurt.  Are we getting to any position where we can wrap this shit up?  I need a fucking shower and a nap."

In reply to William Naslund (msg # 115):

"Loud and clear," Spider-Man responded to the communicator. "Darkstar's right on what's happened so far, so we're down a person. Is it time to change the current plan?"

Once Darkstar held out the chains it started to dissipate turning to yellowish mist and vanishing with a hiss. The smell of sulfer hung in the air. William shook his head, this didn’t go down as it was supposed to, The comment of “literal hell” through William off that meant D’yspare was probably just a distraction, on a good note however was Doc Strange seemed to be back from his MIA status.

Thanks for the update guy's  OK Looks like we’re done here! I’ll get a full briefing on the way, I’m with Harbinger, Meet back at the jet. I’ll join up with you shortly. William said, He was gonna ask for a backup but opted not to add more distractions for Harbinger.

He took a step closer and got to one knee so he could see her… eyes he knew she was in communications with the Symbiote but he couldn’t hear the whole thing.
He made note of what Evelyn was saying so they could discuss later.

Evelyn. We’re done here. He said offering a hand. Thinking or hoping the symbiote wasn’t gonna bite it off. For now let’s avoid the authorities. I’ll deal with them later. Let’s go home We’ll discuss what happened here later. He says calmly.

Sword was quite confused by what Doctor Otto Octavius might mean by being more useful not healing his allies. The concepts of tactics in a dungeon with different people-minds in control of the various adventuring units were still fairly unclear to his hive-mind side.

On the other hand, fixing Doc's injured eye was not something unclear. Rather than punching it, he reached out gently to touch his face and cast a spell, burning off some of the pain he'd accumulated in the battle to empower it. "Healoc Sustenoc Corpador Durudor," he invoked solemnly. Healoc for the verb action of healing, Sustenoc to make the healing real and permanent rather than fading away after a time, Corpador for the noun-element of flesh, and Durudor to deal with the complexity introduced by the glass that had caused the wound.

Other, less-sensitive places people were hurt at got dealt with the more barbaric way. Punching, or barfing up his sword (Doc permitting) and stabbing them back to health with it.


He tapped his magic amulet (i.e.) the communicator) with two fingers after William Naslund called, reporting in with a grunt and "Bloodrager here. Me needing? Am Doctor Otto with."

Once Bloodrager was done, Doc Gave a nod. He was a little upset that he was hurt on the mission. He'd spent so much time in the labs of late that field work he now realized was not something he enjoyed.

You heard William, Let get out of here, I don't plan on playing 20 questions or feel the need with dealing with anyone else. he said not really waiting for anyone but turning and heading towards the School to get onto the Jet.

He really wasn't happy that he looked like a chump on the field, he should of taken charge of the scene but the fact he didn't want to tag along to begin with didn't help.He have to talk to William's about this.

William was getting frustrated. Every time he gained an inch to Evelyn the symbiote seemed to take it away.

William walked in front of Harbinger.

I'm offering the help she needs to become stronger then You seem to be giving her credit for and You won't allow it. Evelyn does not need to die and if your plan is to Kill your human host, You and I are going to have an issue! And I Promise you will not be leaving here alive! William said in a stern voice, he didn't raise his Shield into a defensive position yet but he had it set to the ready for a back up should Harbinger attack.

Now as I just said WE are heading back to the Jet and Back home. William stood in front of Harbinger Defiant.

Kevin felt weird about letting somebody punch and stab him, but he had to admit he felt better.  Still tired, but the pain from the burns he'd taken in Hell was gone.  So were the chains, but they'd served their purpose in driving D'spayre away.

As he flew back to the jet, Kevin watched for other potential surprises Belial had left and reflected on some things.  Belial was still out there, but he was now apparently this D'spayre thing.  And Kevin had to admit that whipping him with that Hell-chain and sending him fleeing had felt really fucking good.

Plus, they had a name now and an idea of what he was.  Belial was D'spayre, an honest-to-God actual demon from Hell.  Also, Dr. Strange now owed their group a big one, so maybe they could pick his brain about how to find and kill D'spayre.  On the minus side, Kevin figured he'd better start living a better life, because after today, he sure as Hell didn't want to get sent to Hell when he died.  Figure Mephisto would hold a grudge.

"Hard." she anticipated the Shield so instead of a sword she swung a Symbiote Hammer at full strength. Assuming the man wasn't Thor or something he should be flying across the room allowing her to decide her next move. Retreating. Running leaping and climbing away to disappear into the chaos. Evelyn needed to be expunged from Harbinger. Not the body but the mind.

Not the answer Williams Was hoping. He'd tried to reason with Harbinger and she brought the hammer down in final judgment of the conversation!

William jump up happy that Harbinger had been focused on the shield, As he jumped the Shield raised  and absorbed the shock of the blow William flew with the momentum of the impact of the hammer on the fist as he did so releasing from his other hand 2 sonic Grenades that exploded and and sent a Screeching sonic wave through the warehouse.
He landed with a heavy thud onto the ground....
With the screeching sonic wave and the impact of Williams hitting the ground he felt his head spin...

Up on the catwalk her suit had retreated inside her , her phone falling from the catwalk but catching her laptop. The suit was  protected from the vibrations by meat, blood, and bone she stumbled away smashing open the fire exit door she jumped to the street below rolling protecting the laptop with her body and sprinting naked away. Her head felt like someone was playing YYZ in her skull. But she had to run. It might be hours before it came back out to play.

William Slumped to the ground watching them make they're way out.  He tapped his Coms.

From his aerial vantage point, Kevin could see all around the city.  He could see the plane, the police and fire trucks finally swarming out to bring order to Belial's chaos and he could the see the warehouse and where Williams indicated Evelyn was heading.

"God.  Fucking.  Dammit.  Will this day not be over with already?"  he muttered to himself even as he turned to fly in their direction, planning to get close enough to teleport.

He tapped his communicator.  "Doc, take Barbarian to the plane and get it airborne.  Spidey, 'rager, start hauling ass with me to the warehouse.  Harbinger's on the run!”

The bullet went through the eye and out the back of the head. Girl can rip arms off then this should only render her unconscious. She fell to the ground in a puddle of her own blood as the sniper packed up and left. The package had been secured just as Shield wanted.

Kevin saw the girl's naked form on the ground.  Evelyn was lying in a puddle of her own blood and brain matter, obvious dead.  Though that didn't mean that Harbinger was truly dead.

I am going to regret the living fuck out of this, Kevin thought to himself even as he lowered his force field and created a sharp blade of Darkforce power.

"All right, you alien snotwad, here's the deal.  That girl you're in cared about you.  She wanted you to live and now she's dead.  She's dead because Belial and Mephisto played you like a fucking fiddle," Kevin told the thing inside the girl's corpse as he cut an incision down her scarred abdomen and the slit into his own arm, placing his wounded limb onto the incision he'd made in the girl's corpse.

"So if you want to pay those motherfuckers back for that, you need to ride with me until we get you somebody who wants you for a roommate.  You don't like me and I don't like you, but we both hate Belial and his boss for what they've done.  We work together we'll each get what we want.  You betray me or try to fuck with me and I'll send you to a Hell you're not familiar with.  Deal?" Kevin asked, waiting for the thing to respond.

Harbinger's brain began growing back from the damage her skull began knitting itself together. The wound healing itself and the eye  cavity slowly balooned a new eye. The wound I her abdomen closing she sat up with a gasp grabbing his arm and tearing the wound open with her fingernails pulling him to the ground and delivered one good solid punch to the nose before rolling off him. She took a few deep breaths. "I... don't....die..."

"That would have been good to know earlier," Kevin said clutching his still hurting arm to himself.  "Fuck, that hurt."

"Okay, fine, you two are still a unit, so let me put this to the both of you, Harbinger," Kevin told them through clenched teeth.  "Mephisto, the fucking Devil itself, is interested in you.  Interested in turning you into a tool.  I don't know what the blow-up was between you and William and frankly, I don't give a shit, but he gives a shit about you."

"So, here's the deal.  Come back with us to the plane and we'll see about sorting all this stuff out.  Or go running off on your own again to find yourself the Devil's puppet.  Again."  Kevin told her.  "What's it gonna be?"

"I sent him over a thousand souls. If I'm not somewhere on his Facebook friends list I'd be disappointed." she sad angrily getting to her feet. "Who Did William have shoot me?" she spoke to herself.

For his part, Bloodrager was confused and had gotten himself lost trying to follow Darkstar's order to follow him. He'd lost sight of the darkling one, and had no idea where the destination was on his own. Coldblasted 3 dimensional universes... the idea of dropping control and letting his human side lead the way never even occurred to the hive mind.

"Damfino," Kevin told her/them.  "My best guess would be nobody.  On the other hand, we apparently have an ex-SHIELD base as our HQ.  I'll bet you a creepy van full of strange-danger candy the place is still bugged from top to bottom and SHIELD sent somebody down here to keep a rifle sight's eye on us just in case."

She then slapped Darkstar without warning. "Dont cut me open if I do die, and i don't die, It can come out on it's own. " she said slightly annoyed and still naked.

"Ow.  And sorry.  We're still kind in our getting-to-know-each-other phase," Kevin told her.  "Okay, the nudity thing is both creeping me out and turning me on.  Let's maybe do something about that."

He teleported into a store and filled it with pitch-black Darkforce.  Then he grabbed a few things off various racks and teleported back to her.

"Here we go," he said, showing her various clothing and shoes he'd stolen.  "It was a Hot Topic, so you can be a vampire, a slutty vampire or an ironically slutty vampire."

"Oooh, wait, here's a good one," he said, showing her jeans and a shirt that said "I'm With Stupid" with arrows radiating in all directions.

"I can make clothes..." she trailed off. Well her partner was out of commission for a while. She looked at the selection. She then began walking off still naked . she had a lot to think about. Herself, her future, her meaning. She didn't know who she was supposed to be. Or who she was. Evelyn was supposed to be Dead. But she couldn't die. There was a paradox at play.

"Come on.  I cut you open and tried to make out with your partner.  And I said mean things to you.  I'm trying to apologize, sort of," Kevin said in a plaintive voice.  "Just put something on and pretend to make me feel better, okay?"

"Why are you so afraid to see me like this? Isnt this exactly what you enjoy?" she said turning around with a glare hands on her hips hiding nothing. She was angry but she couldn't exactly get to mauling so she had tonuse what she had.

"Yeah, kind of.  You're, uh, human form, is pretty cute.  And I don't mind scars.  They mean you survived whatever wounds the universe threw at you,"  Kevin told her.  "So yeah, if it was me, I'd say get your streak on all night long."

"But it's not just me.  Pretty soon other people, innocent, traumatized people are going to start peeking out of their hiding places to see if their nightmare is over.  And if they see you walking around naked, they'll figure it isn't," Kevin noted.  "Plus, some of our teammates are a little more conventional than me and they've had a bit of a day.  Plus more, I went to actual Hell, so maybe I'm not at my best right now either.  So, for the sake of everyone who isn't you, put some clothes on."

Looking up at William she backed away. "You tried to have me killed. I'll remember that." she said coldly. Her body ready to run as far as she could and escape this nightmare.

"Dude, I'm having trouble enough just getting her to put on actual clothes.  I don't like my chances for getting gathery with her," snapped at Naslund.

Flicking his gaze to Harbinger Kevin said.  "The fact that I didn't vaporize you on sight argues against that.  Figure the sniper was SHIELD's move, not his,"  Kevin extended a hand to her.  "And if they try again, they'll eat Voidfire back.  Come on, let me.  Let US, help you.  Please."

Spider-Man, eventually caught up to Darkatar and Harbinger. "Look, I don't know what's going on but can we at least get out of here?" Even though his spider-sense hasn't alerted him to anything yet, he really didn't want to stay in this area any longer.

She didn't say anything just walking back towards the warehouse. She should have fought them all but what was the point. She couldn't outrun them, she couldn't outfight them, without her other half she was nothing. She just put her hands behind her back crossing her wrists.

William looked at Harbinger and was confused, He hadn’t seen her get shot.
He shook his head knowing at this point there was nothing he could say that would help this now. Nor was William in the mood after Harbinger’s double cross , the more they continued to argue the more possible agents would show up.


Web her up Spiderman, She ran once I don’t need to have her running again. He gave Spiderman a look that defied anyone to argue with him.

Darkstar get us airborne …
He looked around and felt a migraine coming…

Find Bloodrager and get us to the Jet ASAP! He said looking around. realizing the big red man wasn't with them.

"All right, hold it.  Nobody's wrapping anybody up.  She joined us of her own free will and she can leave us the same way," Darkstar told William and Spider-man.  "Also, there's no way I can carry all of you.  Spidey can get you and I'll get Harbinger if she's willing to come with."

"But if you do leave us, especially here, SHIELD is going to get you," Darkstar told Harbinger.  "They'll shoot you, again, take you prisoner, lock you away someplace, probably to do experiments on you.  And remember, you can't die.  So it won't ever end."

Finally, he tapped his comm.  "Bloodrager, where the fuck are you?  Walk to an intersection and tell us what street you're on."

In reply to Darkstar (msg # 149):

Hearing Darkstar over the amulet, Bloodrager stopped and stood in place for several seconds trying to figure out what the order meant. An intersection? Okay... he looked around, and walked to where the sidewalk met the nearest driveway. All right, he was at an intersection, but how did one tell what a street was called? That was like asking the dungeon corridor for a gumball.

He tapped his amulet (communicator) with two fingers and replied, "See street. Is black, much cracking. Grass looked healthy, many footprint. Um. Big acorn tree in front blue house? Not seen any treasure chests."

She didn't care if Spiderman webbed her up heading back inside. Of course once she had recovered in whatever hole they keep her she'd be reminded of why she almost didn't join in the first place. She'd tell herself "I told you so" and then escape and kill everyone in her way.

Kevin decided and in the blink of an eye teleported between Harbinger and the other two.  "Harbinger, if you're going to go, then go," Kevin said, without turning to face her, instead keeping his eyes on Spider-man and Naslund.  "I'll keep them from going after you."

"And no William, I'm not betraying you.  Joining your operation was voluntary.  Leaving it should also be voluntary,"  Kevin told him.  "I know you want to do what you think is best for her, but at the end of the day, she's got a right to be wrong and to face the consequences of her own choices."

"Aside from which, we're not set up to keep her as a prisoner for a long term period, and we'd need to, if we dragged her back against her will," Kevin continued.  "So we need to let her go and get the hell out of here ourselves.  If you really want to help a teammate, maybe try to to teach Bloodrager how to read a fucking street sign."

William watched Darkstar and in a way was happy to see him stand up for his teammate, However she had just caused the death of a number of innocent people.
Step down Darkstar! I would normally agree with you about she was free to go. Unfortunately the situation in the warehouse has put letting her go out of our hands now.  Williams said.

Spiderman  see if you can Find Bloodrager and head back to the jet. I’ll do what needs to be done with her!

Once Spiderman headed off  He turned back to Darkstar. What he said was true, Harbinger had to pay for what she had done and this was way out of his hands. But as he turned to Darkstar he gave an odd wink, and slowly positioned him and Darkstar to have their backs against Harbinger continuing to lecture Darkstar

Again I am not looking to take any prisoners. I tried to help but she needs time and to settle some internal conflicts. I’m hoping what we did here today will give her a different view on what she does. We still all need time to adapt to this team and to each other…

William continued to talk to Darkstar for several minutes. … And that is why… As he turned around Harbinger was gone. Hmmm, Now that is unfortunate. Maria is not going to be very happy with me. William faked a disappointed look. Guess we should head back and uhm, go look for her, Maybe she’ll try to hide back at the base.

Kevin just stared at William for a little until Spider-man left.  "The situation at the warehouse?  You mean the situation where the girl who is immortal, mentally unstable, possessed by a murderous alien symbiote and, oh yeah, a serial killer who'd previously tortured and murdered over a thousand people even before you put her on our team killed a few more people who were working for Belial?  That situation?"

"And Maria is gonna have to suck on her unhappiness and get in line behind me," Kevin continued.  "As of now, our little group is down to half its strength.  Harbinger's gone, not that she was really even on the team.  Goblin's probably gone.  White Witch is gone and Barbarian has been hurt in a way that not even Bloodrager can fix.  Plus, Two is no longer with you, so she either also left or her invulnerability was kind of exaggerated."

"So right now, we need to fly back home because figure when White Witch left her cool door faded with her, decompress, debrief and then you need to start working the phones or whatever to get the team back up strength.  Maybe get girls, 'cause we're kind of a sausage party right now.  But make sure said aren't, you know, psychotic and make sure they at understand how to get along in the modern world, cool?"

"Alright, I'll see if I can find Bloodrager," Spider-Man said as he left. He proceeded to climb up building closest to him and activated his communicator. "Hey, Bloodrager! I figure you can't be that far away, so can you wave a hand to let me know where you are? I should be able to spot you from where I am."

"Hand? Okay," came back over the communicator. The big red man lifted the hand with his glowing, singing ring over his head and waved it around, peering left and right trying to spot Spiderman's distinctively colored costume.

After scanning the immediate around as best as he could,  Spider-Man spotted Bloodrager's... Glow? "There he is!" He said as he jumped off and swung his way over to him, landing not too far away from him. "Come on, let's head back to the jet, we're pretty much done here."

The big red man nodded, and prepared to try to follow Spidey where he was led. Hopefully he'd stay in sight, unlike Darkstar earlier. Bloodrager wasn't nearly as fast as either of them.
