To say this week was anything but weird would have been an understatement.
One minute you are minding your own business the next you were disrupted by some random person dressed in Black telling you they were sent to you because of who you really were. Any denial was met with a video photo or something proving their point. You had been advised that nothing was being forced onto you and this was all volunteer.

It was for some a short speech and for others a long one in order to convince them that this was a unique opportunity. Whatever the speech had been used to convince you, here you were.

Things were happening fast the only explanation today was you were going to be sent to Meet with William Naslund and the rest of the Task Force team and once that was done it was going to be up to you to render your final decisions on if you were willing to stay or move on with your life.

Standing next to each other on the SHIELD helicarrier getting ready to board a Jet to take you to your final location, to meet William Naslund.

The jet head towards the Atlantic far from civilian eyes. for use of entrance 3 to the new Task Force base, The water separates and the jet hovers over the opening. In stealth mode

Agent 43 request landing permission. Package Big Red delivery

Permission granted. Please proceed came an automated voice.

The jet entered the opening and followed the tunnel under the Atlantic which lead to the bases under water hangar.

The jet rolled into position and the doors opened,

Well ladies, We’re here.  the agent said. Unbuckling the belt and getting to the jet’s door, He pressed the hatch button and the door opened up leading to a large Hangar. In front of you stood an older gentleman.

Welcome to TASK FORCE, I am William Naslund. I apologies for any inconvenience in the last few hours for the rushing you over here. He said extending a hand to each as they stepped out.

Deedee's first impulse had been denial. Which was met with photos of the blond in compromising positions, and not the fun kind either. In the end, it was her sister that convinced her. The black clad man had provided pictures of Anna, and alluded to the idea that Anna was either going to be, or already was, in big trouble. Criminal trouble. The animal part of her brain shrieked for escape, fight or flight, it felt backed into a corner. But Deedee's human side pushed it back again with some difficulty. To his credit, the man never flinched when she growled, or made any indications of pressuring her as she fought the beast in her mind. In the end, Deedee just meekly went along.

She'd been ushered off to two other girls who seemed in the same position she was in, judging from the body language of both them and the people who were there as well. Apparently to facilitate easy departure but they were there in case things got out of hand. She could smell it.

So she kept herself quiet and kept her posture meek and docile while the animal inside paced in it's cage, noting everything and analyzing it in it's own primal and simple way.

The jet ride was fun. Not. The vibrations, the engine sounds, the pressure of the enclosed air, all set her hackles rising and the beast inside tried to emerge several times. She would nap for a few moments, then snap awake at a nose change or movement of the cabin. A few times she hissed softly under her breath. She sniffed when anyone would pass by, catching scents, and her ears would twitch at every noise.

When the jet landed, she was out as quickly as they let her, sidestepping the gentleman who was there and ignoring the hand held out. Her eyes were wild for a moment, but quickly that faded as she forced herself to relax.

"It didn't really seem like there was much of a choice," she said softly, ears alert and eyes constantly darting back and forth as any animals did when presented with a new area. To others she might seem nervous, maybe even paranoid, but her hyper senses were gathering information. Placing sounds to scents and images, noting everything that she could instinctively.

Then she sighed, running a hand through her hair and letting the strands flow between her fingers. "Deedee Deveroux."

She still didn't take the hand though.

For William’s men, Lois had been a hard target to collect... due to the precautions of her father.  Two security goons accompanied Lois whenever she went outside and dissuaded people from interacting too deeply with their charge.  Lois also carried a tracker, so her father knew where she was at anytime during the day.  And then there was the actual information on Lois’s rumoured capabilities.  William’s men did however make contact, somehow distracting the goons and getting the opportunity to speak with Lois.  Naturally she turned down their initial offer... until evidence of her misdeeds was shown.  That quickly changed her mind.  Daddy would be angry that Lois ditched her bodyguards, but he’d be madder still if she did not bring him back information on who was meddling in their affairs.  Then she sighted the helicarrier and everything changed.

Throughout the trip to the Atlantic  Lois was pleasant and behaved... perhaps a bit chatty even.  It helped to pass the time and settle her nerves.  Lois had quite a lot of questions... who ran this Task force?  What did it do?  Where were they being taken?  How did they get the ‘evidence’... just to name a few.  She was glad when the jet touched down and everyone was free to disembark.  William’s outstretched hand gave her pause, before she shook it very carefully.

Deedee’s (odd seeming) actions and words were noted by Lois,  this William had the goods on most of them... and some powerful friends, if he could borrow Shield aircraft for his own personnel use.  Lois smiled politely, burying her unease for now.  She didn’t want to piss him off.

Hi, I’m Lois... but you knew that, right?  You guys must have a big government contract to afford all of this.  So...how can we help you and this task force?”

Lois didn’t seem like a dangerous criminal and the little black Hepburn themed dress of hers helped to reinforce that image.

Alison Verault - aka Aurora - wasn't a happy camper.

In her (admittedly quite short) career as a costumed adventurer, she'd been very careful in her efforts to maintain her secret identity.      Very careful.
So, it had been quite a shock when she'd been approached by a guy who looked a smidge like Alec Baldwin and confronted as to  'who she really was.'

Of course, she'd attempted to play dumb, initially:

"Right, I look kind of like that chick on 'Pimp My Pad.' Happens a fair bit, but you'll excuse me, I'm busy, I --  "

At which point Agent Baldwin had extracted a phone-esque device of some sort, and played her a short video clip.  One that displayed her returning from her very favorite cafe, via super speed flight, on that day when traffic had been utterly abysmal, and she'd really needed that latte.

"Uh - right.    Okay.    This is voluntary, you say?"

She'd had a small list of questions she wanted immediately answered, as well as a display of credentials.  She did know that, for whatever reason, the incidence of people with unusual powers was on the rise.    It made sense that the powers that be would be would have interest in meeting as many as possible, and forming some type of task force, as the agent put it.  Alison didn't envision herself as the task force type, exactly.     Still, it seemed prudent to make the acquaintance of an agency that had plainly taken a strong interest in her, and might have other 'supers' in their employ, to boot.

"You've had some financial issues, Ms. Verault.    Complications related to identity theft, yes?    I do think that - if you did choose to come aboard -  that could be cleaned up for you."

And that sealed it. Not only for her herself. She needed to get her own life in order again, if she was going to be able to help Jason.

*    *    *

Dressed casually in a white blouse, jeans, and a pair of leather ankle boots, Alison had time to ponder things while aboard the jet. Pondering what lay ahead was unproductive, she decided early on, as she truly had no clue what to expect.      Seeing and boarding the 'helicarrier' had been surreal. Even for someone who could fly without a plane, faster than the naked eye could follow.

So, she pondered other things, while en route.  Such as, how being super-fast was sort of begining to affect her perspective of time.      The jet was fast by airline standards --   yet still slower than flying under her own power, enough so to almost make the trip seem long. And, she pondered her two fellow travelers.    The blonde was still a teen, Alison esimated.     In a word, she seemed uncomfortable.   Which was hardly surprising.    How had they motivated her?    Had she been taken from her family-?

Did she actually hiss?

It sounded like she might be ill, based on the sniffing.   Ali was tempted to try and break the ice, and speak to her, but finally decided not to intrude. She did, however, decide she would watch over the younger girl, just in case. Turning a brief eye toward the other brunette, in her Heburn style dress, Alison made a loose assessment of 'money, upper class.'    Or, at least someone who aspired, and could fake it.     She listened as the other woman asked various questions - mostly things that she wished to know as well -  and made mental note of any answers.

She needed to get ahold of Jason...and this might have been a good time for that, except that she was on a plane, and her phone was of course in the appropriate mode.   She began to have an uneasy feeling  that she really needed to speak to him before she got embroiled in god knew what.  There was nothing for it, though; it would have to wait.

Entering the sub-Atlanic tunnel was another impactul moment, as had been the helicarrier.    "Holy crap,"  she said under her breath, the only words she'd really uttered during the trip.

And then came time to meet the big cheese. The blonde, whose name was revealed as Deedee, went from seeming nervous and uncomfortable, to what Ali's education in psychology would lead her to describe as paranoid.  She thought about trying to reassure her, yet how could she-?     Who knew what the hell might happen next?

William Naslund proved to be pleasant enough in demeanor -   though that meant absolutely nothing. Ali was less reluctant to take the offered hand, compared to the other two --  not having Deedee's instincts, nor Lois' street smarts, and not really thinking about any risks.

"Alison Verault" she supplied as she did, silently concurring with Lois, that yes, they surely knew that.

"That's one question," she said in regards to what Lois asked.  "And I've a pretty long list of others.  Is there a briefing, in store for us?"

William gave smile to Darwin

I must apologies to all of you for that. I did not mean to cause you any serious distress, and given the situation I needed to use SHIELD to help.  I am in somewhat of an urgent need for unique individuals.

He moved his hand to the next one getting off the plane After her introduction he simply replied back
Hello Lois. Yes let me get you all to the common room and more comfortable and we can start discussing and I will answer all your questions.

He chuckled as Alison added to Lois’s Question. He waves his arm indication the direction to continue in and continues as they head from the hangar to the common room.
Please ladies, I assure you after this meeting if you do not like what you hear the choice to leave will be yours

He escorted them up the stairs and they headed down the hall into the common room.
On the larger coffee table by the Tan 4 seat couch, was a pot of coffee and a pot of hot water with teabags sugar, milk, and cream next to it.
Please have a seat. As Stated My name is William Naslund and this is Task Force, contrary to what you may have seen and recently encountered with the agents we as a team have no affiliation with S.H.I.E.L.D.. That being Said I use to work for SHIELD hence why you encounters some agents, That was me asking for some help. He said looking around at the trio.

I will be as open with the team as I can, one thing I hated more than anything was being told I was on a need to know basis, That is not who I am, I will straight forward with the team at all times and I expect the same from the team, We are not a criminal organization, but we may be put in a position of breaking a few laws here and there. For example some Breaking and entering, or retrieval of data from agencies, and such.
he added remembering the last time he mentioned this.

Task Force is here to search for all super powered beings and possible evil affiliates like HYDRA. Some missions can go well. Others could be quite disastrous. In brief we are here to do things S.H.I.E.L.D cannot due to politics and policies. I guess the best way to put it is we will be a sort Rogue team.  We should not be fighting someone like Thor or Captain America, but due to how things may operate it may come to pass.
This is why I am trying to assembled people with abilities and people that are used to acting and thinking way outside the box and not holding back when it comes time.

He stopped there looking at the inquisitive faces readying himself for the questions.

Deedee bristled just a hair at first, but his tone set her back at ease. So she waited patently as he spoke to all of them. A place to talk more comfortably sounded great to her, she was still on edge a bit from the jet but the calmness in here was doing wonders as her feral side settled down.

The drinks provided were eyed quickly but she didn't take anything. Although she did a little sniff in that direction, and while the milk smelled tempting it was the sweet cream that made her nose twitch...

But she moved and sat down in the room. Well, perhaps sat isn't quite the right word. Deedee slunk into a seat with a boneless feline grace that she hadn't shown until then, stretching her back in a manner that was reminiscent of a large cat, seemingly with no regard of what it did as she pushed against her already tight shirt, before curling her legs up and against her as she sat sideways, eyes half open as she found the seat quite comfortable. She was tempted to curl up in it, but she fought it back as she realized what she was doing. Those airplane seats weren't that comfortable, and she ached to shift and stretch out properly...

But she made herself listen, and as she did her ear flicked just a touch in disbelief.

"Wait, waitwait... Breaking and entering? Missions? Fighting Thor?" her voice was tinged with shock and disbelief. "I...I think you got the wrong Deveroux. Were you looking for Anna and got us confused?" Granted, Anna was a bit...volitile for things like this most likely. There was a reason her nickname (codename?) was Anamosity. She was 90% attitude on the best of days. Although, that might be why they'd brought her here. Anna would likely be a handful even at good times, and Deedee would be way easier to get along with, and likely as not, more prone to following directions.

Although something else nagged at her, and then it clicked.

"Team? Super powered beings?" Her eyes widened and quickly darted back and forth, looking at the exits to the room as her posture tightened and her muscles tensed. "Is everyone here...special?"

On the way to the conference room, Alison began to question whether this had been a good idea.    Began thinking of ways how she might have gotten out of it...but, that line of thought yielded no stellar ideas, nothing that likely would have worked.   It was a moot point at this time, anyway.

As they seated themselves, she glanced sidelong toward Deedee, noticing her posture, her movements.    Mutant, was the thought that surfaced.    When she'd been educated by the Sovereign 6 project, she'd learned about the so-called x-gene. And all the ways it could change someone, many undocumented, as yet.    She'd then learned first hand, from the ways in which it had changed her...

Her attention was then on Naslund, as he made his pitch to them.     It wasn't the worst, by any means.    It might actually be a pretty good deal.   If there were no strings attached...and that was a freaking big 'IF.'

And then, he began talking about missions becoming disastrous.     And, hello...possibly fighting Captain America?   What, Thor??

Alison's lips parted, to say words she found she did not have.   Her mouth remained gaped that way, for several moments.      Then, her eyes narrowed in resentment, as she began to feel they were being played with.

"Seriously?    Would you like to clarify disastrous, a little better, Mr. Naslund?  Fighting Thor would qualify, in my book."    She gave a single, stunned laugh.   "I mean, those men are heroes.  Why would you want to oppose them?  And, how do you imagine the three of us surviving that?"
