The weeks went by with Deedee getting used to everything. As days progressed and she started to know where everything was she settled down and showed a considerable lack of the nerves that had plagued her that first day.
Like an animal introduced to a new home, she'd poked into every nook, cranny, and corner in every room she could get into.
So as time went on, Deedee's behavior shifted. She walked more confidently. She smiled more. She tended to sprawl in seats instead of sitting, like a giant cat. She'd even been known to purr on occasion.
She also ate enough for four people, but never put on any weight.
And she got into everything. People would find animal hairs in the oddest of places, and of course all over the beds and chairs.
