[Act II, Scene II] The Trail Continues

The party with somber silence continued northward. They left behind a fresh grave in the burial plot for the winery, where they laid to rest the Guild-Thief Iphegenia, who entered the story in chains and left it a fallen hero. To the side of her grave lay a second memorial, where the slim sword and diminutive spears of the pixie Eron Windblade were arranged in a tripod. The weapons, along with the shredded and bloody harness draped over the points, was all that remained after the fae faced death from above.

The trail begins to slope upwards from the mountains and the vegetation turns from broadleaf to pines as the altitude increases.

[Act II, Scene II] The Trail Continues

Brodd plods on after Regdoc, beginning to huff for air as the altitude increased. He prayed silently to the gods all through the process, asking for guidance on what to do. He didn't pay much attention to the trail.

Yagi takes in the change of scenery and addresses her fetish, "Gee, Mistah Wong, this be  a lot different from our home. No stinky mess and not too crowded."

[Act II, Scene II] The Trail Continues

This was the portion of the program where she was beginning to know doubts.

Why they were following the crazy old guy, whose eyes made her think he'd swept floors in too many alchemical shoppes, breathing fumes all the while, was utterly and completely beyond her.

"Maybe going some other way would be a better idea?" she ventured to anyone in general, nobody in particular.

Yagi caught her attention.  Thoughts ran something like:

Is that a frakking goblin?  No...that wouldn't make sense.  It's a birth condition, of some kind. Don't stare!  No...she *is* a goblin!  Well, crap!  Why not something big and useful, like an ogre, instead?

She tried to break the ice:  "Hey, I like your stick.  You're all prepared, in case we need any skull-duggery? Ahaha!"    No one else laughed.  Alietra trod on in chastised silence, praying to any merciful god paying attention, there'd be some little shack along the way, that sold halfway decent booze.

[Act II, Scene II] The Trail Continues

There was perhaps a 45 second though process, where she went from trying to figure out which party member was Mr. Wong, to realizing it was the skull, and that 'he can't help it if he got nobody' referred to the fact that literally he had no body.  At which Ali nearly laughed out loud.     But, that wasn't going to make her seem the credible adventuress she tried to portray herself as.

"I'm sorry, that was so inappropriate."      At least he can still quit while he's ahead! she sooo wanted to add..  But, she figured she'd better take her own advice in that regard.

[Act II, Scene II] The Trail Continues

While the others chattered away like the children of free-folk on a holiday outing, Regdoc motioned to Brodd to come walk beside him. Though the old man was ancient compared to the rest of them, seemingly impossibly old for a human, his trail-stride put them all to shame. That old cleric could flat out-walk any of them! Chomper wandered here and there, but kept close enough to protect his charge master should necessity arise.

"Listen, I've been thinking about what I said back there beneath the vineyard about the Wanderer... I've followed His Path since I could walk. Nothing would please me more than to see you embrace the Never-ending Trail Upon Which Holy Footsteps Have Trod, but I get the feeling that the Wanderer recognizes your talents are more useful serving others by drawing upon ALL the Gods... lesser though They may be... There's more to Pathfinding and Pathfollowing than you know, and you're young and still have hair where it's supposed to be and not so much where it isn't... what I'm trying to say is that you should really think hard and ponder what dedication to only one God would mean to you, rather than the big Unified Menagerie you devote yourself to now. Do I make myself clear? Keep everyone moving is what you have to do. Just keep us all moving..."

Small puffs of dust arose from the worn boots of the Seeker of the Wandering God.

Thud chuckles a bit at the exchange between Alietra and Yagi, but otherwise says nothing. He's keeping his thoughts to himself for now!

Amalrik looks about, sometimes at the sky, sometimes behind them (keeping everyone's place in mind). He sniffs the air, much better out here in the fresh stuff instead of that underground stale smoky stuff. He enjoys the shining sun as they walk along.

As he walks, Sasar pulls one of the vials he recovered out of his sack, and rubs some dust off the glass.

"We should get these potions properly identified at some point, but I doubt there's any alchemists left in business where we're headed..."

As Yagi falls in step with the party she breaks out in song(In goblin, of course),

"On the road again, just can't wait to get back on the road again!

C'mon Mistah Wong, sing along!"
