Shall we fast forward the rest and move on DM? Unless you are rolling random encounters. :D

MuAhaHahHaha! Let me know who heals whom and prays and studies for what spells. Then I'll tell you what happens next.

Oh and assuming you're not resting for an entire day, there's no 1d3hp recovery. Sorry!

Pock isn't injured. He just sleeps and then wakes and is ready to go. If there's any food he will pop some in his little mouth.

He has only 1 spell that he memorized and have not yet cast - Phantasmal Force.

No healing, no spells, just a good old power nap for Einahrd. I took first watch.

Regdoc's at full HP, he's spent his only spell for the day already. We need a long rest (Sorry, my 5e is showing).

Also, if you could all edit your profiles to show your crucial stats like Regdoc, that would help streamline things.

Can anyone give me a short recap on the significance of the lever and the tracks and what the group is trying to do now?

Re: The Great Herding Of Cats (Players) and the GM’s Journey.

The lever was at a fork in the tunnel during our way in. I think when it was pulled, it released the crazy kobold train that came from the bottom of the mine and crashed through the collapsed rocks at the entrance... where the pissed off manticore was hanging out that chased us in here in the first place.

I do not recall if the group explored both directions of the fork. At this point, we really want/need to find out way out of here and I don't think many are in favor of going out the entrance to the manticore.

Re: The Great Herding Of Cats (Players) and the GM’s Journey.

Seems like we've dead-ended on the gnomish workshop branch. We went down there looking for Harald after all. We either need a map or a DM nudge in the right (as I recall the only) direction. This scene has gone on an abnormally long time due to the brief hiatus, we've picked up some new players along the way, and a bit of DM assistance would be good at this point. Please re-fresh the screen or re-paint the picture if you'd be so kind...

After we kill the troll.

Where the fork veered, the party had taken the path on the right, down into the maintenance passageway, which lead to the control room. There was a door on the other side behind the tanks on the opposite end of the control room which no one ever entered [except for Manaku, who rescued Pock from the billowing frozen mists].

The LEFT branch of the fork is the minecart tracks, spiraling down the circumference of the mineshaft. It was from down there, somewhere in those depths, that the machine (locomotive minecart) barreled up, carrying a surprised pack of kobolds with it.

The trained obliterated two party members who didn't move fast enough and shot all the way back to the entrance at the mountain peak, smashing into the boulders left by the manticore-caused avalanche that sealed off the mines in the first place.

There...did I miss anything?

I thought the door in the control room was the cooler... seems like we opened that door and found Pock inside.

Re: The Great Herding Of Cats (Players) and the GM’s Journey.

So the noise right now is from the control room side, correct? So it could be from the door not opened or from outside...the other way is deep into the mountain, we know it is survivable because kobolds came from there...

Right, forgot about that. Manaku entered it but no one's really explored it yet.

Re: The Great Herding Of Cats (Players) and the GM’s Journey.

Sorry lads...

The way I understand it, we're resting on the outside of the control room, not inside. I thought the control room was flooded with oily goo, which is now important, and that the troll was coming out of the cooler, into the control room, and is now beating on the double-doors that we've locked from the outside.

Where did I go wrong?

:-)

Re: The Great Herding Of Cats (Players) and the GM’s Journey.

Okay, so I’ve got this wrong ...

So at the lever there is a fork one way is track going down, one way is track to the entrance and one way is maintenance/ control room, right?

So is the troll coming from the control room? Then we have the main entrance/ manticore rock pile one way and down deep the other way...

I can modify my post - so we can only fight or go down the path with it following? Or both...
