Alex, I see that correctly

It IS a nifty little trick. Its a bit glitchy though. I tried using it in my game but its tricky to work right.

Yeah I'm using it in one of my pathfinder games and as far as I know it's working. It's tough to tell as a GM though because you can read it no matter what.

Every game I've played in with then has given up on them after a bit

I use it in one game I run and have no problems with it. You do have to be careful.
