Combat Mechanics Topic

This will be where we post all the gritty game mechanics of our combat actions. I'll begin with a post with a subject line in the form of "topic containing combat - Phase X". After this post, anyone with an action in that phase in combat in the topic mentioned posts their action. Once all action within the phase has posted, I'll post the results and start another phase.
After the results are posted in this topic, those involved can post the RP related to their actions (including dialogue, etc) in the topic which contains the combat.

Manning Enterprises - Phase 2

Attack FIST with a Wing buffet attack. OCV 12 (9 + 3 LEVELS)
Rolled 11 on 3d6. Hits 12 DCV.
Physical Blast damage 12 BODY, 35 STUN, double knockback on 8d6.
Rolled 2 on 1d6 Knockback. 12×2 = 24 - 2 = 22M knockback.

FIST flies out of control, slamming into the building.
Rolled 22 BODY 74 STUN on 22d6 knockback damage.

GM:
FIST smashed through the upper part of the wall into the warehouse section of the building and has fallen behind some crates inside the building.

Manning Enterprises - Phase 2

Mercury Mercenary makes a half move and lobs a grenade in NightHawk's direction.
Two overall levels on DCV, two levels on OCV with military weapons, targeting a hex 14m away (-2 OCV), OCV(5) + levels (2) - modifiers(2) + 11 - 3d6 = DCV hit (hex is DCV 3)
00:04, Today: The Great Karnac, for the NPC Mercury Mercenary, rolled 5 using 16-3d6.  MercMerc attack roll.

00:07, Today: The Great Karnac, for the NPC Mercury Mercenary, rolled 8,3 using 2d6,1d3 ((3,5,3)).
The attack would have done 24 STUN 8 BODY killing damage with 2m of knockback, but NightHawk's defenses prevent all but the knockback.

Flash attack on Mercury Mercenary

08:25, Today: Inferno rolled 8 using 3d6.  Attack roll OCV 8+11 (19-3d6).
Hit a DCV of 11 or less.

08:26, Today: Inferno rolled 41 using 12d6 with rolls of 4,4,5,3,1,5,4,1,3,4,2,5.  Flash Att. 10 points of flash.

GM:
Mercury Mercenary is 18m away (-4 range modifier) so your attack would hit a DCV of seven or less. Mercury Mercenary's DCV is 7, so you did flash him. As he's acted this phase, he can not re-act to the flash.

I suppose that preparing to dodge means that Vulture has noticed Impulse, but isn't otherwise reacting.  I'll leave the stealth roll there in case I'm lucky. :)

Either way, zoom past Vulture at full speed with a Passing Strike.

02:09, Today: Impulse rolled 8 (with 3 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Stealth 14-.

02:12, Today: Impulse rolled 8 (with 2 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Passing Strike - OCV 9.

If successful, to save time:

02:13, Today: Impulse rolled 54 (with 16 body) using 12 with the Hero (Champions) system ((6, 3, 6, 6, 2, 6, 5, 5, 6, 4, 4, 1)).

GM:
Vulture is unable to dodge the attack, which does 36 STUN and therefore renders Vulture unconscious. He begins his several hundred meter fall to the ground.

Temper has 3 DCs of damage negation, so the 3d6+1 attack becomes 2-1/2d6, so the eleven becomes 10 on 3d6. Assuming all the dice were similar we take one of the threes (two threes and a four make ten) and it become a half dice, so 9 BODY and 36 STUN. In addition to the null energy cloth (providing damage negation), Temper is wearing a military-grade tactical vest. The end result is thirteen stun to Temper (no knockback).

09:26, Today: Inferno rolled 16 (with 4 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  OCV (8+11+1 Lv w/ Ranged Combat = 20 - 16)=4 DCV

GM:
If we assume Inferno flew off the roof and towards the front of the building, Temper would be seen prone in front of the hippy van. His DCV would be 3, so you would hit.

Mercury Mercenary continues running around the building, not reacting to anything.
NightHawk would have another shot at him, indicating that NightHawk took a swing as the speedster came around the far corner and approached then swung again as the speedster continued on his way. If the first swing missed, and the second one connects, it would just mean NightHawk mis-timed the first but managed to hit on the second. Merc Merc is moving at around 210 mph, so he would be twice as hard to hit as a fastball from Aroldis Chapman.

P.Lobos OCV 8, DCV 8, DMCV 3
Knockout's actions could determine how many thugs shoot at her, and what range they have

Ok, for info, in combat, Knockout is to be considered acting at DEX 23 from her Instinctive Reflexes

FLOOR TWO OF THE CITADEL

Bracing herself against the blasts, arms crossed in front of her, Knockout was shoved a few steps back, as the agents fired their energy rifles. Her beautiful smile made place for a more serious and amused one and a "Bad choice, guys", as she propulses herself right over the first of them, on her right to get a grab at him by his neck, turn on herself holding him and tossing him right into his closest colleague, in order to neutralize the two of them.

OOC : 08:55, Today: Knockout rolled 13 (with 4 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Instinctive Fighting Grab. On VIPER agent #1.

OCV 8 + 11 + 2 Instinctive Fighting + 0 Grab - 13 = HIT DCV 8.

Then attempting to Throw (as part of the Grab options) a non aerodynamic VIPER agent at another one, in order to knock both them out. From memory, It gives me a -4 to OCV to do so, so it would be : OCV 8 - 4 +11 -
09:01, Today: Knockout rolled 6 (with 2 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Throw Viper agent into closest one. = HIT DCV 9.

Damages for both should be :
09:03, Today: Knockout rolled 27 (with 7 body) using 8 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Collision damage.

Strike attack with the trampoline, making it an area effect attack to HIT a DCV 3 (dodgeable only with successful Dive for Cover).
Just rolling STR dices for damages as I don't know if and how many dices of extra damages it might do.

19:08, Today: Knockout rolled 13 (with 4 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  OCV Roll.

OCV 8 +11 -13 = DCV 6 to HIT. SO Success for Area.

19:09, Today: Knockout rolled 30 (with 10 body) using 8 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Damage Roll.</Orange>

GM:
The trampoline has a four defense and four BODY, this combines to eight and it will therefore do 8d6 when striking someone. It will also, however, take the damage done in the same manner as the target.

errr which phase does he "use" ? meaning if he's stunned, he can't actually RECOVER. Or can he with DCV . halved . ? or . reduced to zero . ?

Because, Knockout is just going to . slap him unconscious then.

Technically, running out of STUN pips means a character is unconscious. However, receiving damage that exceeds the CON attribute will stun. He's pretty much beat, but I wanted him to stand up and do the heavy breathing, finger-pointing routine popularized by so many wrestlers.
