All discussions to either pick one of the pre-gen characters included in the Quickstart rules or build a new one go here.

Some of the pregenerated characters deviate from the pattern of the others in ways that seem more like a fix for the quick start than anything mathematical in the character creation process.

I suggest we ignore that deviation and stick with the more normal version.

Attributes that add up to 13
Pick any three Talents
Pick any three Attribute Foci
Fill in the drive/origin/background/social class/and profession as desired.

Fortune and Income are also a bit unclear I would suggest any custom characters are locked at 20 fortune and 4 income as those too are the most common.

Honestly, I like Chao, but I would have built him a bit differently.

Can we use the background, etc for him but I redo the stats?

Just to expand on my comment a little, I'm all for folks trying out the character creation rules as part of this playtest.

Perhaps share to role you're looking to fill so everyone can coordinate.

I mailed everyone who'd shown interest in my original proposal post.  Had one respond they would not be able to join.  Pending a couple more replies we'll see if I need to post on the Wanted - Players thread

I'd ike to be an engineer, I think. I was looking at Addison, but I'm not sure if I want to try and tweak him or not.

Hello, new player here with my first post!

I have a tradition where I almost always play the pregen characters unaltered in a new RPG.

I have had a quick run through the rules. For now I am avoiding the adventure-- don't want spoilers. I am impressed with the pregen characters. I would honestly play any one of them, and enjoy it-- and that is rare for me.

If I had to choose, my preference in order would be:

1. Addy
2. Ade
3. Casey

But would play any of them.

I'd prefer to use the characters as is, myself, with only changing names/gender/background if wanted. As this is my first go-round with the system, I don't want to muck about with trying to create a new character.

Alright, Addy is assigned and the ship has its engineer.

What about Doris?  What role will she fill?

Cupbearer2 you going with Cho and keeping his medic focus/skills?

Cupbearer3 have you narrowed down a choice or just waiting to see what's left?

Doris can fill just about any roll requirements in terms of system mechanics I will take what is left, the important part about the character is that she is an OPA Belter.
