In reply to Narrator (msg # 211):

Why thank you, and same to you  :)

My contribution to the feast is prepped and proofing, so now for pretty much the first time in a week, I get a bit of time to decompress; i.e., gaming!

Re: OOC

Kierahn... you probably want to turn those pendants over to your father... you know, the KING whose realm has just been assaulted.

Just to be clear, Tamlin didn't figure Kierahn was going to run off. Just that they had to hand over the tokens in a hurry before they could head outside of the castle.

Re: OOC

The GM hasn’t been around in the last few days.  Marian hasn’t posted for 3 weeks and neither Erica nor Branwen have posted since the last IC update.

So where are we ?  I know these setup scenes haven’t offered a lot to do, and the pace has been poor, but we’re all part of that.

So, for the GM:
It isn’t clear to me where the game is going.  It doesn’t seem to make sense that we’d all be emissaries.

Are we going to be expected to deal with the problems about to occur ?  Is something more going to happen ?  Do we get any input.?

For the other players:
Are you thinking of dropping the game ?  If so, what would persuade you to stay ?

Re: OOC

While I've had some real life issues that have popped up, these things are temporary and I'm staying in. I believe our GM has also had some real life crap pop up. This is certainly the time of year for it, it seems.

Sometimes finding character motivations can be a challenge but I'm getting there. Marian, Branwen and Erica have all logged into this game yesterday. If they aren't doing anything with an earthquake in the city and a fire on the mountaintop, just say so and we can move on.

Re: OOC

My hope is that the PCs will take the lead in dealing with the crises at hand. Corwin and Lorraine would be happy to deputize their children in dealing with the situation, preparing for war or peace and generally stepping up to handle events. I wanted to make the situation such that the PCs will take the initiative and have things to do, instead of just having the NPCs do everything.

Re: OOC

I was sort of hoping that Marion or Erica or Branwen would say something...

The way I see it is that given the apparent scale and magnitude of the threat, Corwin has to take charge (unless there’s stuff we don’t know).  He has to set policy, decide the strategy.  And maybe take action himself.  The NOCs have the primary authority and power (in every sense).

Sure, he can delegate stuff, sure we can handle smaller issues that turn up - but some of us are probably going to follow guidance (and maybe ask for more if it’s important and beyond the scope of the advice we’ve been given).  That’s going to especially applie to the emissaries, since Corwin should decide on who’s going and the parameters of what they can offer.

It might have been better to start with smaller incidents, that the PCs would be expected to handle without calling home, instead of setting high stakes right at the start.  Not that it’s necessarily wrong to do it this way.  Maybe if the NPCs are more occupied with this, we can take on other, lesser, issues.

Re: OOC

If it makes you feel any better, Brother, I'm going to get my knight back so there's that. He was competing in my name when he was attacked and then kidnapped (er, knightnapped).

Re: OOC

I think what Cador is saying is that we're in a situation where, thematically, we can't make any calls... All Corwin has to do is tell us to take care of it, but thematically, we can't just decide to go take care of it...

Re: OOC

Caitriona- I know.  And if I have to rescue you, I’m never going to let you forget it!

Kierahn  - more “shouldn’t” than “can’t” but otherwise about right.  It’s not our place to decide for the kingdom.

Re: OOC

Knight competing in my name who gets knightnapped by Fae Queen = I am honor bound to go rescue him and bring him home...

And protect him from the likes of a sister who doesn't want me to have good things in my life.

Looks as if neither Branwen nor Erica are going to post.  It’s been more than two weeks.  Time to move on or call it quits, I think.
