Buzz Corey:
Just letting me know that it's time for this game to end is not letting me down as a player. As a fellow GM, I know that you can sometimes run out of juice. I know there isn't always time/energy/mental resources for everything you want to do.
You have no obligation to me. You have run a fun game that I enjoyed playing. If it's time to move on to something else, that's ok.
You aren't ghosting me or creating/allowing a gaming environment that makes me want to quit. We're good.
Yeah but it still bugs me.
I SHOULD like this game still.
I thought:
--What if I played a character, myself? No. I play all the NPCs already.
--What if someone else GMed? Or we traded places, GM and player? No. Wouldn't be fair anyway.
--What if I invited Buzz's player to play something else instead? Nah, I don't think that's the right solution...
--Well, what do you not like? What's filling you with dread that you don't feel like going on?
That was a useful thing to think. I thought:
--I don't want to role-play through infiltrating the upcoming union meeting thingy. That feels boring.
--Okay then... what if we skipped ahead?
--Just sort of... montaged through that, moved ahead to something more exciting/interesting? ...That might work...
--Well, would it still seem appealing if you had to break in a new player or two?
--UGH, breaking in new player/characters... but yeah, maybe. And this is the perfect time... Some emergency happens elsewhere (Titan itself, probably) so we have to re-assign Flash... but we give Buzz one or two new partners... if anyone shows up... Yeah, that could work...
So what'd'ya think?
