RTJ/Charcter Creation
1. Ability scores will be 4d6 best 3.
2. hp is as normal - max at 1st level, roll+con mod at each level up.
3. Any official WOTC material is acceptable. UA or homebrew needs to be approved, but I am very open to cool things.
4. Certain character choices have some extra baggage attached, as described below:

-Guild artisan background will have membership to a guild, and players can join a guild for rp reasons if they wish. The list of Waterdavian guilds will be posted in another thread.

-Arcaane Spellcasters in Waterdeep are required by law to join the Watchful order of Magists and Protectors, so that you can come defend the city if necessary. Note that this does not mean your character has to, just that if they don't they may get in trouble with the law (Either way I'm not going to use this to disrupt things too much.)

-Waterdeep has a few noble houses that are good for the noble background, which will be posted with the guilds.

-The faction agent background will give you access to a faction right off the bat. You will be able to use the benefits of this faction after the end of chapter 1, at which point other players will also be able to join a faction.

5. Chaotic Evil and Chaotic Neutral alignments are not allowed. Other alignments are ok as long as you can work with the rest of the group most of the time.

RTJ/Charcter Creation
In your RTJ, please include the following.

1. Name
2. Race/Class
3. Background
4. Allignment
5. Personality/backstory. Doesn't need to be too much, just a paragraph or so. Describe how your character came to Waterdeep, why they are interested in a life of adventure, and so forth.

This is not a first come, first served game. I will take RTJ's until I have a lot, and then I'll pick a group. I'm planning on taking 5-6 people depending on the response I get.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that this adventure is very open-ended in parts. I'll work to push you in the right direction if needed, but most of the 2nd level play is about establishing yourselves in the city of Waterdeep. We'll be using the renown rules to help keep abreast of this, and I'll  try to inject some extra rewards for really making yourself really famous (or infamous). Hopefully, If this lasts through November, we'll be able to move right into the sequel, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, when it comes out. In any case, thank you for your interest in the game, and I really hope that we can have some good fun with this.
