Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Mog puts on a dazzling display(for him) of defensive maneuvers, severing the heads of the first 2 biting at him. Sidestepping the 3rd before the 4th bites in from behind and attached to him as he sidestepped the last one. Having a single dino attached to his front, Mog flexes showing off his musculature and trying to force the teeth out if his flesh.

2 successful parries, 18 and 20 cutting damage including followup holy, 2 sucessful dodges 1 fail
First parry is on dino in 5.6, defenses are then rotated around clockwise, and retreat is into that hex.
Break free attempt success by 5

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

Fergurth shoots at two more Dinomen.

Mog tries to break free.
Become Grappled, then defend  or become grappled again. Finally, defend twice or take 10 & 12 cutting damage.

Drakul slashes at a dino.
Defend or take 9 cutting damage. Defend again at -2 or take 14 cutting damage.

Dagrak retaliates against the dino attacking him.
Defend twice or take 9 cutting damage and 7 crushing damage.

Brandaelfr attacks the dino behind Drakul.
Defend twice or take 9 cutting damage and 5 crushing damage.

Despite the ferocity of the Dinomen's attacks the heroes are able to hold the line, cutting down dinos right and left as they lunge at them. Fergurth shoots and kills two more dinos while Brandaelfr and Drakul cut a few more down. Mog flexes his muscles and breaks free of the Dinoman's jaws while Dagrak holds his own against a pair of dinos. The Dinomen continue to press their attack against the adventurers, most switching back to their weapons after watching their kinsmen get slaughtered. The two leaders enter the fray; one engages Drakul while the other starts attacking Mog.

Dinomen are on the map, reference the hex labels for clarity.

Brandaelfr parries aside the first blow, and then backs up a step to successfully dodge the second. Quickly adjusting his reach, he steps forward and swings with tremendous speed at the dino with the sharper weapon. He shouts quickly, "Fergurth, who needs help?"

Defense: Parry, Retreat Dodge

Maneuver: Deceptive Attack
Dino with the cutting weapon needs to defend at -3 or take 13(3) cutting. Brandaelfr is in the same hex as he was last turn.

Mog puts on a second almost as dazzling of a display display(for him) of defensive maneuvers, severing the heads of the first 2 dinomen biting at him. While sidestepping the blade from the bigger dino before retaliating in sheer brutal reckless abandon.

successful dodges on both sword attacks.

"HE WAS MINE"Mog roared before charging over and eviscerating the leader. (Previous turn)

Mog then charges back to the tree and takes 3 massive swings at two of the dinomen there.

move to 3,4 attacking dino in 4,4 and 3,2
dino in 4,4 defend at -4(-2 for deceptive, -2 for attack from the side)
failure results in 12 cutting damage(2) to the neck and 2 holy followup.
dino in 3,2 defend at -2 twice
failure results in 16,18 cutting damage(2) respectively with +2 holy followup.
This was an AoA with flurry of blows to allow a second target and third hit, no defenses possible by Mog.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

The delvers quickly wrap up the remaining Dinomen. Fergurth puts an arrow into one, but her other target dodges. Mog coming up from behind slaughters the dinos attacking Brandaelfr. Meanwhile Drakul takes two swipes at his foe who ducks under the first slash and comes right up into the return strike having his head almost completely severed. The last Dino is surrounded by the adventurers his tribe sought to devour, it's beady eyes dart side to side as it weighs it's options, but it's thinking is quickly interrupted by the arrow Fergurth puts into it's eye.

The clearing is littered with dead Dinomen and the tree is still blocking the river, but the delvers can now be relatively sure they will be safe to continue the work of clearing it.

RP a bit. Y'all get 3 points. I'll get the game moving forward later this week.

Drakul joined in the festivities, casually sliding his stiletto through the brainstem of each foe, wiping the brains off as he went. He smiled and sighed a bit each time, as if relieving some tension from his shoulders with each sickening stab.

"Ah, that’s better," he said. "That definitely explains the intentionally felled tree."

The little elf begins plucking arrows out of her victims eye sockets while talking to Dagrak, “You’re so funny Dagrak, you should try talking to the rabbits too, with those big ears they make great listeners. Plus you’re closer to the ground so you can probably hear them better when they talk back.”
She pulls the last arrow from the bodies near the Dwarf and turns to Brandaelfr and Mog, flicking the blood off. “I said that the big Dinosaur guy swallowed a flask of some sort of grog during the battle. If you cut him open you might find it.” as soon as the words leave her mouth she begins to snicker. “Dang, how does Drakul always keep such a straight face.” She says aloud but mainly to herself.

Re: Chapter 2: The Grave of the Pirate Queen.

The battle, though brief, was difficult; only through sticking together and watching their comrades backs did the heroes keep from being overwhelmed. They clear the tree without incident and gather up the crude weapons of the Dinomen as a small prize. Upon their return Sven is surprised to see them splattered with blood and bits of gore, "What happened to you lot?"

After the story is relayed to him he shakes his head, "By the gods! We would all be dead if not for you! I can't thank you enough!"

The rest of the trip upriver proves uneventful and the barge stops over in Wodenheim for a day to trade a few things before making the trip across Lake Odin to Isfjall.

You can go ahead and spend the points and add the money from the Dino encounter. I'll be closing off this chapter and starting a new one for your arrival in Isfjall soon(ish) I hope.
