[OOC] Long Term Projects

This is a thread to discuss long term projects and dominion expenditures, and maybe flesh out your cults and factions a bit.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

If any of the locals do want to stay, maybe don't have anyone to go back to, note that we do have two gods at least who can keep them from starving on the island once we leave.  This becomes especially relevant if y'all decide to kill him, but even as an uneasy alliance, we might want to leave a bit of comfort behind, maybe return to the idea later.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

Plaga's objective in the long run is to re-establish her criminal organization, now cranked up to 11 thanks to divine powers. Ultimately becoming heavily influential on the worldwide underground. "World domination" sounds too cheesy, but it would be that, only that unofficially and from the shadows.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

And Gaja has been wanting to take petty revenge on Vissio for a while.  All of Vissio.  She still has no real sense for how large the scale of a country is, and I don't think the ambition will survive discovering it.  Too disproportionate.

But that's after re-establishing a tribe, and possibly tracking down all the survivors of the one she grew up in.  That without the Vissio thing, honestly, sounds like she's bringing feudalism to the Howlers.  I'm only thinking middle-term for now; Gaja doesn't have specific motivations on those scales.

edit: Though there are definitely things that could keep her riled up enough to maintain that grudge.  Turning the place over to a crime family would probably appeal to her, since they're all treacherous anyway.

edit edit: Oh right, I forgot.  Big eugenics program among the tribes that will start out looking for perfection but almost certainly go off the rails into sorcerous enhancements.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

Claire's main goal is middle-term: destroy the Bright Records Company, which may segue into a general reform and restoration of the Republic and maybe even an expansion of their technological civilization through new Nodes. Short-term, I'll ally with someone's community-building projects.

If we leave the island and let Lasier live, I suggest we grab any refugees who want to come and set up a community in southwest Howleria (possibly at Gaja's suggestion). That'll provide a base for messing with Vissio, the Howlers, the Bright Republic, and Patria.

I particularly want to hear Increase's plans right now. He has the two strongest Words around for Dominion expenditure, which means he's going to be in demand for just about every project running.

Also, does anyone have the Earth word, out of curiosity?

[OOC] Long Term Projects

Increase is going to destroy the Atheocracy, destroy the Pyre, banish all Angels from Arcem back to Hell, rebuild the glorious theotechnologies of the Former Empires, and march the armies of mankind back into Heaven so that they can set the celestial engines right again and claim the Throne as the birthright of all mankind.

Small stuff.

His cult well essentially be zealous warrior-librarians whose first and ongoing task will be gathering a copy of every written text and storing it within the Grand Library, a fortress-library supernaturally warded against harm and decay.

Well, if we're talking cults, I've been flip-flopping a bit on Claire's, but I think that her cult will be a local branch of the Unitary Church with herself as Saint and Matriarch. I can't see her just doing a "sign up for my fan club!" thing; she wants her worshippers to strive to be better than they are, aid the poor and all that jazz.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

You know, before we plan to too much detail, we should probably clarify how much of the faction system we want to use.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

So for me personally the Cult is a pretty substantial part of my plans so I think that using the Faction System will be important. I might be missing the modularity but I want to take faction turns & what not.

I think it makes sense for all us since our goals are around the general theme of dismantling or destroying someone/something of importance. That's going to earn enemies and we need to respond to that.

That, and long-term, both Claire and Increase are going to want to build some very high-tech integrated projects. So we should definitely have a Faction system.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

To be fair, with Marius planning to build not only an army but eventually an empire, we're going to need the Faction system for that as well.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

I'm for it.  I just didn't want to start putting plans in those terms if it wasn't going to feature.

edit: Whoa.  I was just looking through Vengeance (because it was that or Desire for a fourth word, and Gaja doesn't gain as much from Desire's base power).  And I'm thinking maybe I want to dive into that and then push for the greater strife after all.  A Passion Like Chains just makes all of Vengeance so much more relevant.

@Fate- What kind of instructor would be needed for something like that?  Or does the confluence of her three existing words and the lesser strife make it an intuitive thing?  I'm ambivalent about the matter in the first place; this is just so I know what kind of character arc working toward it would mean.

[OOC] Long Term Projects

Actually, thread necromancy:

Now that I've settled on a Warden relationship between (at least Gaja's community of) Howlers and the horrors of the wastes, I think the long-term goal is going to be cleaning those up.  Or harnessing them, depending on the political situation at the time.  A human eugenics project would take a lot longer than breeding frightening new varieties of warbeast.

I have no clue what you are talking about, as I haven't catch up with the other threads (at this point unless it becomes explicitly relevant i doubt i ever will, i've slacked off), but if it involves necromancy Plaga is gonna be a huge help in whatever you are doing.
