How to Write
Whereas a game in real life has an element of improv/acting, a Play-by-Post format swaps this for creative writing. I like posts to read like a novel. Narrate what your character is doing, how they appear, how they react, interact, facial expression, mannerisms, etc. Be creative. Have fun with it.

Dialogue
When your character says something, use “quotes” and style the text in a color. Each player will pick a different color for their character. Orange will be reserved for out-of-character comments.

Internal Monologue
If your character is thinking something that you think would add to the narration (but not something the other characters will know), use Italics with no quotations. It’s not mandatory, though. You can think things quietly to yourself, if you prefer.

Out-of-Character Comments
Any comments or questions that aren’t part of the narration should be at the bottom of your post, written in small, orange text.

Rolls
Use the on-site dice-roller. Be sure to assess any bonuses or penalties to your roll. Example: If you have a Base Attack Bonus of +1, and a STR mod of +3, roll 1d20+4 to attack with your broadsword. (Don’t just roll 1d20 and add your bonus in your head.) Also be sure to include all relevant details of the roll in the “Notes.” Example: “Broadsword Power Attack,” or “Broadsword damage.” This will help if someone needs to look back at the dice log and find a roll later on, and so we can check each other for mistakes. Whatever rolls you make, include the results as an out-of-character comment. Example:
Broadsword Power Attack: 15.
Damage: 7.

Reply Function
Use the Post Reply button in the bottom right hand corner of your browser window. Do not use the reply link found in the top right of other people’s posts, as this automatically generates an annoying “In reply to...” blurb.

Character Bios
Everyone has two character bios, found under “Character Details” (upper left corner of the browser window). To help me, please include the following information in the first one:
  • AC/Touch AC/Flat-Footed AC
  • Current HP/Total HP
And the following information in the second one:
  • CMD
  • Initiative roll (i.e. for the current combat)
Example:
AC 15/12/13 | HP 10/14
CMD 14 | Initiative 9
