Re: Jelmine - OOC

Tradetalk is the closest thing to a common language, but it is not a language of eloquence, poetry, or philosophy.  That is something to keep in mind.

I have always played with Tradetalk as being something that most people understood at a basic level.  If you keep it within the boundaries of the Language Proficiency table (pg 171), then I'm fine with the communication (no rolls).  If people move to complex concepts, then it might be better to switch to a different language; for example, the intricacies of a religion (beyond Issaries) is too much for Tradetalk to handle.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 18):

Hey, I bet doctrines of Etyries and Argan Argar are pretty amenable to Tradetalk too, I bet! And some pidgins develop nice complexity, o' fair and just narrator, like Kisetla (Settla), Kenya's Swahili-based pidgin. :D

Re: Jelmine - OOC

In reply to Bingling Hyxloriz (msg # 19):

Yes, but I would put that with people that have high levels in Tradetalk.
I can see followers of Issaries and Argan Argar having enough in common for in-depth discussions on trade and religion.  I don't see that working as well with a Lankor Mhy sage :).

In reply to Garik Johnton (msg # 22):

You won't find it.  It is non-canon.
It is just south of Crabtown.
I'll get you a map based on the Atlas.

Re: Jelmine - OOC

It looks like it could take about 4-5 weeks to get there. Just to Johstown is about 60 KM through mountain on a road I think so 4 days or so?

In the opening/introduction, I'm not going to be a stickler for distance/time.  You will be on horseback for your trip from Boldhome (or in a cart if you have trade goods).

Jelmine - OOC

Announcement

Each of the characters has an Introduction Thread in the private message section.  This gives you a chance to meet the other PCs you are currently traveling with, and an opportunity to speak to any NPC introduced in your introduction.

If all goes well, I'm hoping this Thursday to have the opening of the game.

Jelmine - OOC

I'll be at a convention Thursday-Sunday, so I may be slow to respond this week.  I'm hoping that I'm able to work through my election night anxiety and clear my head enough to respond in my PM thread.

No worries.  I'm at a conference Thursday - Saturday, so I may be a little slow as well.  Good luck with the election night anxiety.  I watched Casablanca to avoid election returns.
 :)

If I see that everyone has started posting, I'll start the first scene toward the end of the week.

Have fund at your convention.

Are there any Issaries Priest or Lords in Jelmine. Thinking of offering lay services if not.

Only if the rider has not asked for the protection of Argan Argar, and if the party does not object! Argan Argar will even protect Mostali (dwarves) and Aldryami (elves), and Bingling honors that! :D
