Re: A return from extinction

In reply to Capricious Wyld (msg # 116):

Reid will nod in thanks for the clothes then get dressed. He briefly thought of retreating to the bathroom to dress but he'd been naked around this woman for a while now and it just seemed silly to worry about modesty at this point.  Taking a look out the window. "Nice place." he says checking it out.

"So what now?  I was on an official police ride-a-long that went sideways with multiple casualties and I went missing, my clothes torn to pieces.  The police will be looking for me because it's going to be a huge headache for them if they "lose me". My family is affluent and didn't want me to be a cop in the first place.  They have connections that can put a lot of uncomfortable pressure (backtround of resources 5, Millions and millions--more for story purposes, this is what Reid would think) on the local departments.   I especially don't want the Deputy who was with me to get into any trouble."

Reid takes a deep breath and runs his hands through his hair trying to think.  Aside from his monster escapades, some real-world consequences are about to happen. "Do you have any ideas because I'm fresh out any that don't wind up with me in the loony bin." he asks.

Re: A return from extinction

In reply to Capricious Wyld (msg # 118):

Nodding "Thank you, so what happens now? The Sheriff's department will need to know I'm ok."  He took a deep breath.  "You brought me here, is it dangerous to go home?  My apartment I mean. I mean,my apartment here in town.  My family estate is over in the hill country so that's out there.  No one knows what happened, except the deputy and whoever sees that dashcam footage because I'm pretty sure I murdered that last guy so no one could have called anyone."

Reid still looked a little panicked when he said that, he killed people, hard, and he was starting to remember it.  What bothered him more was that he didn't feel bad about it.  There was something primal about how they fought and how he fought back.  It was deep inside him and it felt...good?

Reid just nods, then explores the hotel room a bit before sitting down on the couch and flipping on the TV.  "Do I need to reach out to the Sheriff's office to tell them that I'm alright or are your people going to take care of that?" he asks after a bit.

Re: A return from extinction

In reply to Capricious Wyld (msg # 122):

Reid asks Yelena to look up the Dallas County Sheriff's department non-emergency line for him, then picks up the room phone and dials the number. When the receptionist answers Reid says "Hello, this is Reid McRae, I was on a ride along today and we were attacked by some bikers. I think it was that gang running around town roughing the place up, I'm not sure.  I think I lost my wallet and phone in the scuffle.  Your deputy, Lacy McGuire, really kept it together after they attacked us.  She fought them off and told me to run and so I did.  I'm calling you from a hotel to let you know I'm safe."

Re: A return from extinction

During his convsersation wtih the Sheriff's department, Reid will be honest about how they were attacked and that he panicked and ran after one of them started trying to grab him, tearing his clothes as they wrestled around.  He'll keep it as vague, yet probable, as possible about what happened and how he got away. He will ask if they found his keys and wallet and if they have, to go ahead and mail them via secure mail to his address.  He's fine and doesn't need any medical assitance, he just needs time to process.

"I suppose you will want me to meet whomever sent you?  He asks after he hangs up the phone he gives Yelena his address in case they'll be willing to bring him ohome.

/ooc What would you like me to do?  I feel like I'm missing something. It seems Reid is in a position where he's basically at Yelena's mercy and can't do anything until she says he can.

Re: A return from extinction

Forcing himself to relax he'll take a seat again, doing his best to overcome the rising uneasy feeling he was getting.  "I'm okay with that but I will probably have a lot of questions." he says. "I mean, what happened to me?  What happened in the street isn't normal, not by a long shot.  Those bikers had fangs and claws?." Taking a breath he slows down, his mind still spinning.  He needed to get hismelf under control.  "And who are you?"  Ok, she did tell him her name but there's more to it than that and that's what his question is geared toward.  She didn't panic and run away from him like the deputy did.

/ooc if we're just waiting for a cooling off time, then Reid will just wait and try and get some questions answered before she's ready to go

Re: A return from extinction

Reid stumbles back a step, eyes wide, not quite believing what he just saw. "What," He stutters, eyes darting between the others in the room before settling on Yelena.  He then looks at his hands, then back to her. "You're like me, only different," he says after a few moments of his mind melting down at what he just saw. It was a statement, more than a question, understanding coming a bit more slowly.  Honestly, Reid didn't know what to think, other than knowing he was way out of his league. Feeling a bit defeated he sits down again, staring out the window of the hotel room.  "I feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone," he says shrugging. "This just doesn't feel real."

"Nothing is going to be the same, is it?"he asks more rhetorically than anything before looking up at her. "Those bikers were looking for me.  I thought they were just looking for a fight then they said they wanted my blood.  Does that mean anything?"

Re: A return from extinction

Reid nods, none of it making sense, unless of course you were in some sort of sci-fi movie, then it made perfect sense.  Still feeling out of sorts he shrugs. "Probably.  I have nothing else here to do and since you say going home isn't feasible, I guess I'm ready to meet these friends you mentioned wanted to meet me."

Truth be told, he didn't have anything he could do.  He didn't think they'd just let him walk out and after what happened on the street he wasn't sure he wanted to.  It was a small miracle that he wasn't more hurt.

Reid will shrug and nod. "That sounds like as good a plan as any."  She speaks of spirits and such as if they're real but today has been weird, really weird.

Re: A return from extinction

In reply to Capricious Wyld (msg # 134):

Reid will keep tabs on the how to get back to this place from where they were.   He's internalizing everything that has happened so he's relatively quiet during the trip only answering questions if asked.  "Nice place" he comments as they arrive, impressed by the sprawling grounds. He's seen his fair share of mansions due to his family's connections, and his own wasn't bad but this was very nice.  He'll wait until they stop and exit the vehicle when prompted.

Reid will explore the estate to the extent they'll allow him, get some food and then relax.  There isn't much else for him to do.  "So who are your friends?" he asks.  "They obviously have money so my family and whoever this one is move in the same circles.  There's a chance I know them, or at least have heard of them."

"Well," Reid says after a bit, "I don't know anything about your history, or any of this really, but I guess we'll see where this goes. I do look forward to, hopefully, having some answers."

With that, he'll simply wait with nothing more to do other than send a private message to his brother. "You'll see some stuff on the news, let the fam know I'm ok but I'm out of pocket until further notice. Talk to no one, you never got this from me.  Delete this once you get it.
