Star Wars Edge of the Empire: The Phoenix & The Chimera allows role-play online player characters to take on famous and known members of the early days of the uprising against the Empire and Emperor Palpatine. Focusing primarily on the members of the Spectre crew of the Phoenix cell characters will work together on various missions from rescue, smuggling to small battles and discovery of the fringe of the Outer Rim and Beyond.
The game will take on the persona of the Star Wars Rebels series only in character and starting time period. It is also an attempt to bring some cohesiveness to what can be a tumultuous way to game, as dreaded as the Death Star the PC ghost itself....
That said player characters that take on members of the Spectre crew will play the like of Kanan Jarrus or Sabine Wren. We will use the afforded stats from FFG in the Dawn of the Rebellion source book. Some may raise the question that the XP is asymmetrical and this is also true one playing Zeb Orrelios has far more XP than a starting C1-10P, but this is even more to push the idea of story and the mechanic of XP that will be awarded to each PC will be on a grade awarding more XP to players starting off as weaker characters.
Also please take note that the beginning of Rebels is only a sketch for a larger starting point. If a player wants to play another FFG approved nemesis and I feel it is appropriate for the group give it a go. The game will start in 3 BBY after gas refinery is destroyed by Spectres.
This XP can NOT how ever be used to upgrade canon members of the game. XP in Phoenix & Chimera will be used to add to a starting number from core books. Once a player character has earned 100 XP he or she may add that to a starting character of their own that we as a group will integrate into the Phoenix cell. There by adding backstory in live action to your characters and showing the GM and the rest of the players you intend to stick around for 100 XP worth of the game.
If a player becomes truly endeared with a canon character and truly wants to keep playing that persona in the game, myself and that player will work it out with full knowledge given to the rest of the group for consensus. Not that this is an official vote but will give everyone onboard an idea of what is going on behind the scenes.
As the game is based on Edge of the Empire and some Age of Rebellion please take note NO FORCE USERS will be ALLOWED in player character creation. This will be an adult game not for reasons I intend this game to become overly gore filled or overtly sexual only that it is going to be gritty realistic and at times ADULT, this is not a license to disgust other player characters and any player deemed disruptive to the game will be expelled immediately, warning of course will be given although termination has no terms.
