Turn Two Party Results

Victoria - The people around Victoria seem to realize that she speaks neither German or Latin, and one of the guys in robes makes an attempt to speak to her in Euro.  The guy has a thick German accent, but if she concentrates hard enough, she can understand him.

"Oh Lady of the Night, and Keeper of Secret...", he comments taking Victoria's hands almost pleading, before letting go realizing that you might take offense at this.  He takes a fearful look over his shoulder at the barely restrained mayhem rolling in from the west.  He swallows hard before turning to you more than a little anxious.

"We... your faithful... have called you to our presence, so that we might better serve you.
Show mercy upon us and save us from...
", He glances over his shoulder where a wolfman is cutting up flesh like a butcher at shop, and then over at the large frost giant who's shadowy form can barely be seen through the Obscuring Mist, but who's mass and size is unmistakable by the volume of mist being displaced and swirling about by her passing.

"PLEASE!  WE BESEECH YOU!", He gets down on one knee looks over his shoulder and the other guys in robes gets down on one knee too.  Victoria gets a terrible feeling that they think she's something she's not.

Victoria is put down, but still surrounded by people begging her to save them, from some pretty serious looking monsters.  Victoria is located in U-12

Maybelle hurries along winding through the area, turning the corner she goes through the mist briefly before coming out the other side.  There doesnt seem to be much in the area.  No great mystery why as Brigitte seems to be doing a handy job chasing them off.  Maybelle is in L-15

Gar notices a bunch of mostly unarmed humans passing him by.  They had thrown their spears at Brigitte and started fleeing past him.   He move off to ambush them, and over plays his strike giving the human just enough warning to side step the attack, the blade grazing off leather armor.  Smoke swirls about as he takes notice that Brigitte is in the area.  Gar is located in O-12

Brigitte meanwhile takes offense to them hurling their spears at her and gives chase.  Reduced to those little blades that barely seem to count as a weapon to her she starts to swipe at the nearest one human near her.  Mist swirls about the area, and really she cant see if she hit or not, but the satisfying 'thunk' of flesh meating her axe was a pretty good hint.  Brigitte is located in L-12

Meanwhile...

Andrew tears the throat out of the last sentry, and before the body can totter over, spins around to face the Rogue that snuck up on him.  A killing swipe should have ended him then and there, but by some trick of shadow and light, his claws catch only mist leaving a swirling pattern in the air where they passed.  Andrew is located in P-6

Flutterdew flits about near Andrew, dancing carefully in the air from place to place, trying not to be in the way before finding a moment to tap him on the head, and heal some of the injuries he suffered.  Andrew Heal 5 Hit Points Flutterdew is located in P-8 - 5' off the ground

Nisor opts to head south, hustling along to bring up the rear, and perhaps deal with any stragglers that might have slipped past the others.  Nisor is located in I-13

Daubra walks calmly along and makes a quiet prayer to the Earth Mother for help, oddly a creature of the air shows, which does Daubra's bidding and begins to harass the Rogue.  While the Rogue was busy with the obvious and immediate threat from Andrew, he is surprised to find himself under attack from the air, talons and beak are surprisingly accurate and lethal as he's torn to ribbons and goes down screaming from the wounds.  Daubra is located on the roof in K-6

Turn Two Human Results

The cultist all around Victoria seem to be begging her to strike the Party Dead where they stand.  While well dressed, she looks to be nothing more than a slip of a girl, unless... you know... it was just an act to lure the party in so she can blast you with a fireball or something...

Meanwhile...

The guy who seems to be trying to organize the defense is making a fighting withdrawal, and is not against putting the cultist between him and the party.

He's giving orders which seem the other seem to be following.  Most of his 'party' is falling back with him, while doing what they can to slow the monsters chasing him.

The two archers finally gather their wits and draw arrows to let fly at Brigitte.

Attack +3 (BAB+1 Weapon Focus+1 Dex Bonus +1), Damage d6
23:06, Today: Fate rolled 9,41,2 using d20+3,d100,d6.  Shoot Brigitte.
23:06, Today: Fate rolled 21,65,3 using d20+3,d100,d6.

One arrow is no where near her the other catches her on the shoulder, and finds a crease between the scales to strike flesh.  It stings but it's not lethal.  Brigitte takes 3 damage and goes to 6 of 13 hit points

From the far south, a Obscuring Mist starts to billow out from one of the humans blotting out locations of the three men in the corner.

Things start to look grim so the spearman try to space out and set for charge again, not sure what's coming out of the mist has them concerned, but they've seen Andrew, and Brigitte which honestly is more than enough to motivate them to be careful.  They seem to be trying to by the Robed guys behind them, and the girl time to do... something?

The Humans that Brigitte and Gar were trying to engage, really arent keen on going toe to toe, and make for the dubious safety of the spears being set for charge.  Daggers drawn they intend to make their stand there.

A creature that desires to rip people to sheds.
This is just an act.  He is far more deadly than that.

Thank you Abyss Flutterdew.  My hide feels so much better for your help.
Thank you who ever got that human from behind me as well.

She took a petty swing at the fleeing soldier, but was pretty sure she didn't hit anything in the fog. She shrugged and moved to chase him down. She swatted at the arrow that hit her, damn that stung!

She was pretty sure the guy she was following by sound left the cloud, but she kind of liked being under the cover of fog, so instead she clung to the edge of the cloud. It seemed to make it harder for the archers to hit her, and she liked that!

Flutterdew was saying something but she had no idea what the pixie was talking about. "Girl? What girl? 'Belle, you see a girl?"

She heard the sound of an enraged monkey and moved in that direction. She could see soldiers outside the fog so swung at one of them.

Attack of opportunity hits AC 11 (right) beats fog miss chance and does 14 damage, if it hits AC 11 (right) Do you get flanking bonus for attacking a fleeing opponent? If so I hit AC 13!
Move to P10
Attack soldier at S11 hits AC 22 for 13 damage. Didn't roll miss chance since he's out of the fog, hope that's right...

Nisor was in posistion now but needed to get a better line of sight on the enemy. Moving a few feet he lined himself up with what appeared to be a spear-wall that enemy was forming.

Nisor moves from I-13 to K-14

Deciding to opt for a sure hit he grasped his quarterstaff and with a turning flourish loosed the white dart of energy.

"Impetu."

The bolt soared noiseless through the air and scored a hit against his target.

Nisor uses his Standard Action to cast Magic Missile from his staff, targeting Human at S-13. 4 Damage

Maybelle let out a low snort as she braced herself, the sounds of combat everywhere and the entire battlefield a complete cluster. Some men where kneeling, others with spears readied and a single woman in the midst of it surrounded by... well honestly Maybelle had no idea what was going on over there. Hopefully they could ask after the battle, albeit she doubted many of their foes would survive this.

"Yea Brig, A single woman in the midst of them. Not sure why though but she isn't armed so might not be a threat. Or another caster. Be careful please!"

Maybelle didn't like killing per say, but she had grown up with horror stories of what humans could do. While there were exceptions she doubted that they where the norm for such a warmongering race. Letting out a final snort of air she rushed, her hooves pounding on the dirt and without warning her weight impacted the guard at S14. More importantly, her horns did, point first. Ignoring the splash of blood couldn't be done though as she gave a slight cringe feeling her horns gore the man and the blood soak into her hair, that would take forever to wash out.

Full-Round: Charge to R15 hitting Human at S14
Note: Activated Shield of Faith last turn in case you missed it.

Assuming that she can't hear any of the talking about her...

Now Victoria was both scared and confused. The weird men around her clearly wanted something of her, especially against the few even weirder creatures attacking her. But what? And did she really want to help the guys that, it seems, kidnapped her? And did she really want to attack creatures that, at least the little she saw, were nasty enough to go against anything she had?

And it truly didn't help that she was dizzy, confused and still not sure she wouldn't have to barf again...

She reached for her pouch, making sure she could reach her wand, then activated her mage shirt, which would at least protect her a little. "Please, I... I can't fight. Can't you send me back? I... I'm scared," she finally admitted to her captors, tears starting again.

While she was deeply concerned with any incarnation of the Lady of the Night showing up. The fading distance of the sounds of battle punctuated by fearful unfamiliar voices warned her something was not right. This was not nefarious invading cultists not right this was looking more like foolish child poked a badger in it's warren wrong. Had they thought they were summoning a demon and this timid voice came out instead?
Sister Daubra slid down the north side of the Mausoleum, finding when she needed, the edge of the mist. And hanging off the edge dropped down the remaining distance then took off at a cautious jog around the corner hoping she was reading the situation right and this wasn't going to get her turned into a Canyon-Eater pin cushion.
"Humans, you need to surrender. They're going to slaughter you if you don't surrender." She called loudly repeating in Latin and broken Dwarven with a gravelly accent. She reasoned if they surrendered they could sort things out. If they fought at least she tried mercy.

Full Action: Double move Climb down 5 for 10, drop  5' for free <10ft no damage and she can land on her feet. My math puts her at Q5 when she runs out of movement.

Gar rolls in and is a little bundle of raging fur and blades, and hacks up the hapless human.  Human S-12 dies.

Flutterdew send a little finger sized arrow out of the Obscuring mist that catches a cultist in the arm, he slaps the arm, wondering if they were being beseeched by bugs now.  Why was this going horribly wrong he wonders.  Cultist U-11 takes 1HP damage

Andrew regards the forming wall of spears and decides a change of tactics.  He takes a moment to flick blood off his claws and draws his bow.  From where he stands he puts an arrow in the spearman holding the corner of the formation.  Human T-10 takes 6 damage

Brigitte makes a grunt of frustration as her back handed swipe misses the fleeing human.  The mist might have been helpful to keep her from being a pin cushion but it made smacking these humans a game of hide and seek too.  Gar was attacking with his usual stealth making it easy to find the human by the sounds of his screeching.  The guy on the corner seemed distracted by Andrew's arrow.  The man makes the mistake of cowering behind his shield instead of trying to sidestep the attack, and vanishes as both him and the shield or cleaved in half under the weight over the gruesome axe.  Human S-11 dies

Nisor steps around Flutterdews obscuring mist and sees the south edge of the spear wall forming up.  He aims his staff and sends a burst of arcane energy out into the more dangerous man armed with a spear.  The man takes it in the chest, and seems startled but still functional, at least for now.  Human S-13 takes 4 damage

Maybelle rushes in, the man armed only with a dagger was barely a threat, as the force of her horns brush aside the shield and pierce the leather armor as if they were non existent.  There is the very audible groan of death and the splatter of blood and gore that really only occurs when a body burst open suddenly that cant be appreciated unless you were as close an personal as Belle was.  While the smell and gore would eventually was out, the blood would always soak into her hair tinging it red.  With a bit of work she would manage to wash it down to pink, but it would never quite soak out.  It was a visual reminder of the blood she spilled.  Human S-14 Dies

Dauble can hear that there was a lot going on, mostly people dying, but she needed to get out and see for herself what was happening, so she leaves the dubious safety of the roof,  to join Andrew, where she could get a better look at what was happening.  She tries to make an effort to negotiate a surrender, but with all the screams of people dying and being hacked, gored, and sliced up ... well actions speak louder than words, and it's hard to surrender in such a ... 'peaceful' atmosphere.  Well, dying was a sort of peace she supposed, just the sort Nyx would appreciate she thought.

Victoria watches as several people just outright die and vanish under various sorts of gruesome assaults just a few paces away from her.  She had activated her mage shirt, but really, it was only the most minor of comfort when she considered what was bearing down on her.  They were all scary but that Frost Giant was really really hard to ignore.  The head of that axe looked larger than her chest, and a vivid image of it going through her like that man flashed briefly in her thoughts.  She had her wand out but she notices the hand was trembling.  Even at her best she wasnt sure what she might do, and she felt anything but her best at the moment.

Turn Three Human Actions

From the fog a voice is yelling out a general retreat/rout.

"RIGHT!  I'VE HAD ENOUGH BOYS!  TIME TO BEAT FEET!   EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!"

It doesnt take much to urge a general routing of what's left of the humans.

Immediately the three in the Obscuring mist seem to have vanished, already poised to do so at the expense of those left behind, it seemed to be almost prepared in advance.  (Double Runs x4 spd, away 240')

The Archers are no fools, they see the spear line crumbling and they're through the obscuring mist and following close on the heels of their leaders.  (Double Runs x4 spd, away 240')

Human U-10 and U-11 decide they've had enough. They drop spears and shields, which will only slow him down and flees East  (Double Runs x4 spd, away 240')

Two of the cultist (V12 and U13) decide that they've had enough and decides to flee the scene as well.  While they might worship Nyx, they really have no desire to join his ranks just yet.

What's left of the cultist seems to hide (cower?) behind Victoria, certain (praying?) that their faith in her Uberness and will to stand beside her will be rewarded once she smites these worthless vermin from their sight.  "Smite them Smite them!  What are you waiting for!  Call upon your legions to fight for you.  Your dark plagues... your all consuming void of hunger!  Do something!"

One spearman staggers back when he realizes he's the last man on the line and falls back, only to realize there is no where to fall back.  He falls back a few feet and finds that the only person left to stand with him is some frilly slip of a girl that looks worthless in a fight.  Exhaling a deep breath he takes in the scene of carnage in front of him.  The only good thing about all this was he wont have to pay off those gambling debts.  The downside was that he probably wasn't going to live long enough to enjoy it.  Glancing to his right he growls at Victoria.  "What are you waiting for... If you want to live RUN!  I'll... try and hold them off.", he sounds unconvinced about that last bit but he's walking wounded at the moment and has no delusions about his odds of fleeing.

Maybelle sighed and casually put the dagger back on her belt, despite the combat situation she felt like letting her enemies surrender was for the best. She didn't quite enjoy needless bloodshed after all even from a race that scared the hell out of her. And the disgusting feeling in her hair was making her shiver. She raised her hands up to show empty palms to Victoria and the few people with her as she spoke softly.

"Look, Human's aren't generally welcome in the valley." Maybelle explained as if talking to a child, though she did stress generally with a glance to Brigitte. Sadly, with humans They seriously seemed to think they had the right to be everywhere, it was horrifying. "Especially those who come with weapons and rituals. It's not like this is new, you knew before coming here you weren't welcome. I get you breed like rabbits but maybe stop trying to murder everyone not-human, yea? Look... You can surrender, run and risk running into another patrol or keep fighting and well that didn't work out for you."

Maybelle lowered her hands and gave her head a flick to the side as her ears swayed along with the motion. She was a little too soft-hearted to ignore the splash of blood and visibly cringed, but was grateful the gore trying to trickle down her scalp had slowed down for the moment. Still a little confused about Victoria but she didn't feel like the girl was a threat. Maybelle was still a 'Taur after all and those tears looked damn real to her. Absently she held out a hand to Victoria, hoping she could understand her. They seemed to be worshiping her, perhaps if she came along quietly the others would too? "C'mon, let's stop fighting yea?"

There were too many things to be afraid of. There was the scary giant thing, that could squish a girl into nothing without a thought. There were these guys behind her, thinking that she was some bad ass that could wipe everything from the earth. Then, the was this other guy, who was telling her to run while he gave his life for her. What did they think she was? Did they think that her little flame that she could make would kill all these? And still, they kidnapped her, clearly thinking she was some massive evil sorceress that could wipe the plain clear of everything.

And she was shaking, more sick from what she saw, and scared to death.

So. Running sounded best. She chose a path past her summoners (diagonal and down) and hoped for the best. Which wasn't her best. She made it about ten feet and then stumbled over her own feet and fell flat. Tiara and all. And once fallen, she stayed there. Truly, she did not want to see her own death. And she prayed, hoping the Goddess above and her mother would forgive her for being so weak.

Gar chops up a cringing cultist with particularly brutal glee, since he was sort of cringing near Victoria and mostly harmless.  His demands for surrender sort of is at odds with his definition of mercy.

Daubra also makes a more gentle call for a surrender, but really her half pint size sort of doesnt demand the attention of her larger compatriots.  She barely draws much notice, since she's late to the fight as far as they're concerns and not the dangerous one they have to watch.  When they turn and run, she quirks an eyebrow.  Not really an active attack or spell cast, so she just sort of watches to see what the others do.

Maybelle gives them what seems to be a reasonable suggestion with an obvious outcome.  Surrender to them, or take their chances with the North Shire Patrols, which are much less gentle.  She's a little surprised to see them turn tail and run.

Nisor watches cooly, not really at all surprised that they turn tail and run.  Humans were a pack animal that only felt brave as a mob, and rarely felt the same courage when their numbers dwindled.

Andrew 'runs' as fast as he can to cover the mist, but doing so will leave him flat footed against any attacks made against him, and he wont be able to make any attacks of opportunity when he gets where he's going.   That being the case, he gets to Y13, but cant act further once he gets there.

Flutterdew taunts them a bit more and shoots at the last spearman as if to make a point.  Flitting out of stabbing reach but not throwing.

Brigitte is about to hoist her rock a couple of time, and thinks it over a couple of times, and decides to stop for now.  She could aim for the ones running far far away, but really what was the point.  They werent here to track and kill anyone, just collect some ghost mushrooms, or some such.

Victoria makes something along the lines of a terrorized sound of some sort, except it sound more like a pre-emptive peep.  She turns to flee with about as much grace as a two beer date, that's been sipping from the all you can drink pitcher of Long Island Ice Teas, thinking they were just Ice Tea.  She teeters, she totters, not quite in a straight line and falls.  She something glittery tumbles from her hair that glints in the sunlight, and she sort of lies their sobbing clutching her wand to her chest.  She was praying to one of the Goddesses, but really that's meaningless because all eight divinities have male and female aspects.

The last cultist's eyes bogles as Gar cuts down the man in one slash.  At the sight of Victoria turning and fleeing is too much for him, and he makes an effort to turn and run as well.  He quickly realizes his odds would be much improved if the monsters were busy doing something else.  So... like it or not, little Miss Keeper of Secrets was going to help him escape rather she wants to or not.  As he races past Victoria, he inserts his staff between her running legs to send her tumbling, or at least he tried to.  The foolish girl might have fell on her own, it was hard to say.  'Good Riddance', he thinks before dashing at full speed, the werewolf was near at hand, but he was still turning to get himself situated, that the Cultist as time to go around him in a wider arc, and dart through the Obscuring Mist to make good his escape.

The last spearman exhales a deep breath.  Yeah he was probably going to die, but he wasnt going to do it groveling in front of merciless monsters.  He backs up at a light jog, and is about to break into a full run when he sees Victoria take a tumble.  'Oh come on... really????', just as he's about to go into a all out run, he breaks to a stop right next to Victoria.

"Get UP!  Get up NOW!", he tries to get Victoria up with his best drill sergeant voice.  He really couldnt spare the time or concentration to heave her up on his own.  "GO!  I'll try and slow the furry mongrels down for a few moments while you flee for the mist.", he grunts wondering really how long that was going to be.

He got between Victoria and the wolf, which was the more immediate threat of the moment.  The fool girl would not get up and was probably going to die, and him, being an idiot was probably going to join her.  He couldn't help it though, he had a little sister about her age, and a soft spot that was literally going to be the death of him now.

Turn Three Player Phase

(We are out of combat, more or less)

The last spearman even, armed really isnt much of a threat against the entire party watching him do something stupid.

As for the ones routed, if you're not chasing, they're not coming back, at least not before you had a chance to grab some mushrooms and leave.

So you're more or less in free float roleplaying.  You may make actions, but please keep your actions to one per day, to avoid skipping through several rounds of activity, that might have allowed someone else to do things too.

Off the battlefield, the spears aren't worth much, and neither is the armor really.  The Daggers, might fetch a few silvers.  The dead bodies more.  The Fort at North Shire has a bounty out for human bodies.  They pay fifty to hundred silvers for each human body bought to them.  (They reanimate them, and use them as recruits to fill out the militia patrol as Skellies and Zombies, a few places in town might use them to chop out and serve as meals for a few of the inhabitants in the valley with a taste for it.)

You however, are not really prepared to drag the bodies all the way to town the moment.

Turn Three Player Phase

"Furry Mongrels? Rude. You came into our valley with your spears and magic, and now insults. You wonder why we don't like you. Good Gaea....."

Maybelle looks a lot less scared with most of the human's gone, taking a deep breath as she notices the utter clusterfuck that has gone on here. It was frustrating to say the least. Thankfully Andrew's more feral looks was drawing the guards full attention for the moment as she skirted around him, her hooves planting in the ground by Victoria's side as she crouched down.

Casually picking up the glittery thing, she considered the sobbing human clutching her wand and let out a put upon sigh. She was too damned nice, her entire race was, for her to consider this. Gently she patted Victoria on the head with a sad smile, it wasn't Victoria's fault her race was full of monsters.

"C'mon you. You're safe for now as long as you don't attack anyone, and you dropped something. How about we stand up and get you a drink while we figure out what happens now. Yea? You don't seem like you came here willingly unlike the others." Well, if she had, she damn well wasn't acting like it. Sneaking into hostile territory, performing rituals, being screamed at and then curling up and crying. Definitely didn't fit the hostile invader theme.

Maybelle considered the girl, and knew how much humans hated or seemed to non-humans. She also knew her own nature, thanks to human manipulations looked oft-times disturbingly human. Hopefully that would help calm the sobbing girl down.
