OOC Chat - 004

Oh wow we are really tearing through these eh?

So here's how it's going to work. We'll treat the next 2-3 days as Downtime. Each person I'll say can work on ONE major task and a bunch of minor ones.

Major tasks are things like upgrading the wagon, crafting, training the locals...etc.
Minor tasks can be cooking, patrolling, basic repair...etc.

Some rolls will be made to determine the success of the tasks. If anything interesting happens as part of the stay, I will open the threads for it.

Naturally, the party gets some time to recover HP, Hit Dice and other rest resources.

OOC Chat - 004

Major Task: Moira will spend the bulk of her downtimes with the guards and scouts, in some combination of training, helping with patrols, improving defenses, and so forth.  She has wartime experience with a peoples' militia, so she's pretty well-suited to that sort of task.

Minor Tasks: When not on duty, Moira will spend the bulk of off-time resting, cooking for the party/whoever else wants, spending time with Mayor Orna (if she's welcoming of the company), and giving Thente (and anyone else who wants it) lessons on Giant Linguistics 101.

OOC Chat - 004

Major Task: Claire will begin training those locals who are too young or old to fight in the basic principles of first aid - simple things like how to dress wounds, change dressings, safely move the injured, how to properly administer potions and how to generally recognize when potions will likely do more good than harm. The aim is to improve the number of helping hands available to the Shrine and free up more able-bodied villagers to take up arms in times of need.

Minor Tasks: Resting, attending Giant Linguistics 101 with Thente, and checking in on U'lin's wagon work and helping with rudimentary tasks where possible.

Re: OOC Chat - 004

Major Task: U'lin would use his devotion to help the town build catapults or trebuchets on wagon mounts, so they can be moved around the town, and anchored at the respective locations needed... if asked by the commander to help with defences.  U'lin is feeling low about his abilities, and was dismissed pretty abruptly last time by the commander.

I'm thinking U'lin will otherwise keep things close to home, stay out of sight, and just do some work on the wagon and his armour, stuff that he was otherwise going to do on the road.
If possible, priority would be to making the wagon a shrine so we can rest/recover on the road.

Minor Tasks: If there is opportunity to do small tasks for metal work supplies, that would be a top interest.
Otherwise, U'lin will again be sticking close to smithy/the battle wagon, working on meditating with his hammer or nugget, seeking guidance with them and trying to recall more of the fire giants and the adamantine giant.

BTW DM, anything we can add to party resources from the gathering of gem dust and metal from the pit?

Re: OOC Chat - 004

RE: Gems and dust. Yes, I'll say you recover about 20gp worth of metal. It would be more, but a lot of the surrounding equipment was badly damaged by the elemental. The vault itself is nearly impossible to pry metal off, save what bits you can recover from the rubble.

You also have 25gp each of "infused" ruby, emerald, topaz and sapphire dust. Worth twice as much to magic item crafters or summoners.

I'll update the loot thread with it in a bit.

EDIT: I'll add that making a portable shrine for long rest on the road is goes against the intent of shrines in the first place, so it will not be implemented.

Also Zaiya, don't forgot to put your major/minor tasks.

Ooooh, nearly is better than totally :p

If the party never moves from Red Larch, U'lin has a supply mine! :)
