[Flashback] Stick's Dojo (Daredevil)

Stick and his students sit in a circle in their dojo as Stone reads the contents of an ancient scroll.

"And the Dragon known as Fin Fang Foom, cast out from the Celestial Palace, grew restless, and gathered an army to seize the palace for him. However, the clamor of the battle summoned the Herald of Galactus..."

"Let's skip a bit. Are there pictures, Stone?"

"Yes, sensei. The dragon is...standard for the Chinese art.The Herald appears as a naked man in silver, riding a silver board that floats on the qi of the stars."

"HA! A SURFBOARD! A Silver Surfer! Reminds me of my days in Tahiti...but keep going."

"The...Surfer warns Fin of the coming of Galactus, the Dreaded Celestial who weights the cosmic scale on the side of Death by consuming entire worlds. Fin follows the Surfer to the bottom of the world where all qi lines converge. Galactus appears as a giant in purple armor. The golden cloud that carried him is in the sky...his city? Is drawn like an optical illusion. Galactus is building a machine to help him consume the earth.

"A machine?

"Well, it looks like an artist saw a machine and tried to draw it, but didn't know exactly what he was drawing. Maybe details were lost when it was copied down."

"Interesting. Go on.

"Fin Fang Foom digs up an artifact left by the Celestials when they first seeded the Earth with life. It is described as...The Last Thing To Make Everything, Nothing?"

"Ultimate Nullifier?"

"That seems to be the best translation, yes. Fin holds it like a talisman, like he's about to flip a switch on it. Galactus looks terrified, and he withdraws. Fin Fang Foom stays at the bottom of the world with his new dragon friends to keep the Nullifier safe, in case Galactus returns or someone is foolish enough to try and steal it."

"Well, that's not going to help us against The Hand, but it's a good tale to remember. Next scroll, please..."
