There are lots of books none specifically about Lantan. Ide just google Forgotten Realms and Lantan and read what you can.

Im really trying to get two other players before we start. The Adventure is written and ready to go but with out 4 players it just wont work.

Please Stay with me

Re: Lantan OoC

Not at all, in all actuality is speed things up. I run quite a few games here on RPOL and this is a tried and true method.

For example if one person goes out of initiative order and then a person before him does something to effect the action of the person that went after him it could take days to fix the situation.

Also something I failed to mention is that you only get 24 hours in combat to post your action. So you get 24 hours from the previous persons post to take your action before I NPC your characters action.

Prequisite Race: Gnomes

There's an option in the PHB 2 which allows you to change your race in play with some source of powerful magic.  Gix is about the only Kobold in Faerun who wouldn't mind that (it would allow him to learn 'gnomish secrets of artifice', read prestige class), and it would be an interesting quest option (do you have the PHB 2?  If not I can send you the details.)

Hey Gix!  I should've known you'd be playing a kobold :)

Garath speaks Draconic too, btw...

In addition to the MoF gnome artificer class, btw, you may want to look into the Faiths and Pantheons PrC "Techsmith".  Heavy Gond flavor, creates a quasi-golem instead of a familiar / animal companion, pretty nifty.

Be sure to roll the appropriate knowledge skill for identifying the ant creatures before you make a post otherwise your metagaming.

SRD:
In many cases, you can use this skill to identify monsters and their special powers or vulnerabilities. In general, the DC of such a check equals 10 + the monster’s HD. A successful check allows you to remember a bit of useful information about that monster.

They are outsiders, so that would require Knowledge: The Planes (DC 11) to identify them as Formian Workers, higher difficulty to discern what class they are up from worker.....Warrior Taskmaster, Myrmarch or Queen

Thanks

I think smokesticks would be generally useful - block off a tunnel from archers.  Of course, no need to pool for those, we could each get one.

Caltrops might be good too.  Generally, I'm thinking items that shape the battlefield (yes, battlefield; Garath is a little blood-shy, but I'm not...) so as to let us focus on a few foes at a time.

My other games are slow now too, I think it might be final exams period or somesuch - it isn't something specific to this campaign.

But I also agree with Gix, there isn't that much for us to post in response to.  You already have Garath's requisitions list, for example.

If you want to shepherd the campaign forward, notwithstanding exams, you could always prod us with the NPCs / storyline...

"The man pointed out to you as the foreman is a burly, black-haired brute of a man with disconcertingly intelligent eyes.  'So, you are the trouble-shootin' squad, eh?' he asks, approaching your group.  'I'm told you have questions for me.  Well, and with the mine outta commission, I got nothing better to do than answer them, so fire away.'"  [or something like that]

Re: Lantan OoC

First I want to apologise for my lack of communication.  I am truely sorry.

Second, I will no longer be DMing for ROA, so as far as my involement goes this game is at an end. My life has become much to busy with a new job and a new baby on the way.

So again, please forgive and thanks for the fun we did have.

Congratulations on the new job, and, more importantly, the new baby!  Bright paths and broad horizons to you...
