Re: Psionics: OOC

Sorry about the delay in the ARP's. I wrote them on my laptop, but then I had to leave and fly to New Jersey (where I am now) without the laptop due to an emergency family situation. I'll be back on Monday and will post them then.

Re: Psionics: OOC

While we're waiting for at least one more PC to join, can you two create descriptions of your characters. I clicked on your names and both of you have pictures, but no descriptions. Thanks.

Also, if anyone has any questions about how the game will run, etc., now's the time to ask :)

Re: Psionics: OOC

Well, I had not added description because my sheet has not accepted yet :P. But I now copied and pasted it into my char. My char is quite much identicall to the pic by the looks, think some sligthly overweigthed fanatic cleric ;).

Posting Rate

I will be posting in-game 5-6 times a week.  I generally post between 8-2pm central standard US time.  Likely, I will take either Saturday or Sunday off each week.

I expect each player to make posts at least five days each week. Consistent player posting is the heart of every PBEM game I've played/DM'd. The more that's posted, the more fun everyone will have. Bonus XP is awarded for the quantity and quality of the posting.

The exception to the above is combat.  Once I have posted that combat has started, I will make at least one update every 24 hours.  You must post the actions you will take sometime in that 24 hours.  If you do not, the presumption is that you do nothing.  If you are actively attacked, I will presume you took the Full Defence action.  I'll post more information on how combat works later.

If someone is going to be out of town or out of computer access, please let me know. I am happy to NPC your character for that time. If someone is out of touch for 2 weeks without an explanation, they will be booted from the game. If someone is slowing up the game due to infrequent posting, that person will have three warnings before they are asked to leave. If anyone has any questions about these policies, please let me know :)

Re: Posting Rate

Ok - hopefully the slow posting is due to the new year and such. Starting on Monday, XP penalties will accrue for those not regularly posting. Lorik gave an explanation for his lack of posting, but no one else has and hopefully his situation is cleared up now. If anyone has any questions, please let me know :)

Re: Posting Rate

For everybody: If you talk to someone and they don't post back a reply - take that as if the character actually did not answer your question or talk to you. So, Darchen can act like Lorik ignored him.

Re: Posting Rate

I'm 'back.'  (I've been really busy, and I haven't have time to change my buggered character sheet)  I have time Monday to see (and correct) what exactly is still usable from what I have on this char, and whether it is still useable or needs too much work done on it that I would just make a human Psion instead.  That is why I haven't answered much about the character in the tavern area, he might change drastically :)

Re: Posting Rate

Still having internet problems.   Fighting with the company to have them fixed but so far nothing.  If there was another cable internet provider in the area I would have switched long ago cause this company's customner service sucks.  Have access to the internet at work so should be able to post consistantly as I go back to work tomorrow.

Re: Posting Rate

Shar'oc: You're an elf. Once you post in the game section (the Bloody Hook), you can't change your race. Please post a response to Darchen as soon as possible - thanks :)

Re: Posting Rate

Well I looked back over the changes I need to make, and they aren't aas bad as I thought they were.  Consider the well armed and armored elf to only be well armed now :)

Next DM post

I usually post from work, but my district sporadically blocks access to posting. For example, I can post on this thread, but not our Bloody Hook main thread - wierd, I know. I'll check it a couple times today, but if it's still blocked, then I'll do the next DM post at home tonight. In the meantime, please continue introductions.

Updated: Ok - it went through - please see Bloody Hook thread. After the first person replies, the duo will continue.

grammar and spelling

I'm thinking that for at least one of you, english is not your first language. That's fine and I expect a little messed up grammar and spelling, but everyone (especially for those who doe have english as a first language) please try to be as correct as possible. It makes for much smoother reading :) For future reference, the word "fight" is spelled like that.

Maps

Hi all - good posting and keeping the game moving smoothly :)

I was wondering how you all wanted to do maps for this game. One of the drawbacks with RPOL is the lack of a place to put maps. In another game I DM on RPOL, I created a yahoo groups site and uploaded excel files (the maps) there. At the end of a battle post, for instance, I just attached a link to where the map could be found. If that sounds good to everyone, I'll need your e-mail addresses so I can send invites to the yahoo group. If you have something else in mind, let me know.

Re: Maps

DM Grimclaw uploads jpegs of the maps to an MSN group, which works well because every time he updates a map he links to it, and we can see it without opening it with excel.

Posting Rolls

To ALL: After seeing another DM do it this way, I'm switching to this: In all future posts where you put your rolls from the RPOL dice roller, please put it in a private line to me inside the post. That way, other people don't see it and the whole post becomes an easier read. Thanks.

E-mail

I have yet to receive Darchen's e-mail address. As soon as I get that, I'll post invites to everyone and get the map ball rolling :)

Re: E-mail

Thanks :) I tried to create the group here at work, but it's blocking me. So, I have to wait until later tonight at home. My family is all flying in today for my daughter's 1 year birthday party this weekend, so posts may not be as fast as usual :)

Maps

Ok, the maps are up. Shar'oc and Lorik just know of the store front and the curtain. Darchen has seen most of the rest and that's why it's on the map. Please don't think your characters know where something is unless you've either been there or have been told about it.

Go to the files section of the Yahoo page or direct link:

Ground Floor (where the store front is)

Re: Maps

Three things:
1- those links didn't work for me
2- what about my question to the guy?
3- did you mean for the top floor to be 10 feet larger in both length and width than the bottom floor?  (assuming each sqaure is 5')

Re: Maps

1. I'm not sure why the links didn't work. For the best bet, go to the yahoo groups site I set up and then to the files section to find them.

2. As for the chalk question, I edited the man's answer (see the post where he answered your first question).

3. Yes, it's meant to look like that :)
