Re: Chult OOC

Check the Port N... thread for Samier's last post...it'll give tips on where to go now that I've updated it ;)  Still your call as to which way you want to go, both will get you there with my help, one is safer but longer, the other is quicker buy more encounters.....do we want the long haul for xp, or the quick route that kills one or two of you.....

Better chance?  Who said the river was safer?  Course, as far as that goes the jungle isn't much better...watery death or dinosaur death, ahhhh the choices.

Elsa, we are all over in the "To find a jungle friend" thread that's why you got no response.  We're on a trail in the jungle already.

You know I can't seem to recall how you want rolls posted.  Shall we post them at the bottom in a different color or would you rather have them in a Private Line at the bottom of the post?

Re: Chult OOC

Your fine to just drop them at the bottom of your post, once I've gotten actions from everyone I'll do a summary and then we can start the next round.  I'm pretty easy going as far as combat, just make sure the numbers are there.  also, when you do your rolls you can add your modifiers right into the dice roller to do the addition for you (someone was forgetting this, I forget who) that makes it easier for all of us.

New PC from the deserts of Calimshan.  I hope Chult won't be too much different, and I hope the natives will be friendly enough.

Hi Daemon. welcome to our sweaty team!
Actually most of the natives seem to spend their time trying to eat us -but what can you do? <shrugs shoulders>
BTW, do I get brownie points for working out your heritage or would that be too easy?

Re: Chult OOC

You'll have to do a lot more than that.  I'm a bard with a past I'd rather not repeat.  If you somehow manage to yank that out of me and actually seem friendly enough, maybe.  Now until then, however.

I doubt you'll find much meat on me.  Although I may be almost seven feet tall, I have no fat.  Not much muscle, either.

Re: Chult OOC

You know, I really hopw WotC ignore the recent findings that suggest/prove (I'm uncertain there) that most dinosaurs (T-Rex included) were feathered. They'd look much better using the traditional design of "big reptiles". The only birds that are scary are two-headed ones that get to act twice in every round.

Edit: Now I feel a little stupid, I only *just* realised where the name "Niailee" floated into my head from. It's just one letter different from Miailee, the elf wizard used for just about every "Say a wizard casts _____" example in the DnD books, and the "Miailee, casting _____" illustrations. It hadn't occurred to me the whole time ~_~

Well, if it makes you feel any better I never noticed that.  As far as I am concerned you have a completely original name.

Re: Chult OOC

I never noticed either, bit that's not entirely surprising since I do it all the time. I have a wizard who got to 15th level before I realised Solinor was a diety of the elven pantheon. I usually spend forever thinking up a decent name for my characters (often the hardest part for me), only to discover I've unknowingly ripped it off from somewhere. Turns out Ynvaar was from the film Ladyhawk ...ah well.

Re: Chult OOC

Rand Al'Thor is probably the most important main character in the Wheel of Time series of books. When I chose the character class it occured to me that Rand and the character class were similar, so it was really a "no brainer".  I rip-off names all the time since I lack the creative ability to come up with my own.

Re: Chult OOC

I also have difficulty thinking up names - lately it's been easier, with them floating into my head (usually due to outside influence). before that, flipping through books for words seemed to work. Monster manual is great for last names - particularly for characters not of a DnD setting. having someone named Mr. Aboleth could be really bad in FR...

"Hi, I'm Mr. Aboleth!"
"That's a very poor choice of name to adopt, I see you for what you really are! Power Attack!"

Re: Chult OOC

I try to come up with original names myself.  Unique combinations of letters that sound cool work best for me.  Or else I just take a regular name and mix it up so much that it is hardly recognizable.

Re: Chult OOC

Wow, the weather here is warm enough that I really sympathise with our characters. Even with the window open and a fan on I have trouble sleeping.

Incidentally, as I lack the books currently, what does "traveller's clothing" consist of?
