Chult OOC

If one listens to tavern tales told across the rest of Faerun, its hard to escape the conclusion that the jungles of Chult are the deadliest places on all Toril.  Every bush and vine is a strangling, poisonous, flesh-eating, or blood-sucking monster - and under every bush lurk a thousand scaled, taloned, fanged monsters....and they're right!

Welcome to Chult, a land of gold, gems, ancient magics and where the land itself is trying to kill you - Have fun!

Re: Chult OOC

A few things for ease of play...

I'd like everyone to pick a color for your character's speech, makes it easier to find what your saying from what your doing.

I'd also like for the players to include your rolls for whatever actions/hits etc in a PM within your action post, there is an option at the bottom of your post for doing that, is fairly easy and keeps it clean for the other players.

Pretty simple stuff, i'd also like your thoughts on how things are going, the game is here for all of us to have fun, if your not having fun let me know.  I can say that there should be a fairly even mix of RP, combat, and hopefully if I'm smart enough to outsmart you all some good mysteries from time to time.  Also, since odds are you'll all be coming into town at different times I'm going to get you setup in a tavern and learning some things about the land, it truely is a harsh place.

Re: Chult OOC

Once your character is approved make one extra set of rolls for me, roll a d10 3 times in the dice roller program and send me the results (cut and paste) of all three in a private message.  I'll let you know what the 3 rolls are for after you've sent them to me.

Looks like we'll get another player or two soon, I'm gonna try to keep us in town for a few more days or so to get everyone into the area, otherwise you'll have to save some outlander from something they shouldn't have been doing in the deep jungle.

Ahhh, Fresh Meat!  Welcome Niailee, feel free to jump into the game when you are set, consider the first post as your intro, that goes for all outlanders.  Anyone from Chult feel free to write your intro into the game as Kuruk did.  We'll head into the jungle as soon as we get a few people posting to the OOC that they are ready for it.  Kuruk, I'm expecting you to let these outlanders know how unprepared they are.[Private to Kuruk Jobtawk: Let me know if you'd like a copy of the Jungles of Chult, its 2nd edition, but I'm using it to base alot of things off of.]

Re: Chult OOC

Normally a DM would offer the chance for you the players to pick the type of adventure that you want to run, and for the most part that is still the case...let me know if you prefer hack and slash, RP, or problem solving...whatever you choose there will be elements of all 3 in the game, but for this first adventure the course is already set....Your going to be looking for the previous expidetion into the Jungle....I'm missing a character that I kinda liked....you all are going to find him, alive or dead the story will unfold as the posts come in.

Better keep us all alive long enough to find him then eh? <hehe>

Since you asked, I have always been fond of old school dungeon crawls. Regardless, Ynvaar is ready to go, as soon as Elsa has finished plundering Nyanzaru :-)

Hello everyone Rand is ready to go!

I noticed that all the PC's have some stuff in their Description box under their name.  Is this required and if so, what are N/F/T cause I can't figure those out for the life of me.

Hi Rand & Nialee!
The N/f/t are your characters armour class for Normal, Flatfooted and Touch respectively (and yes it's required).
We should have a big enough party to begin the adventure proper now. Welcome!

Re: Chult OOC

Indeed you should, and its about time to! I'm getting lonely out here all alone.  By now I'm sure FoxPaws has let you know that your going to be on an adventure to find me and the rest of my party....right now I'm not really sure if we're alive or dead, or really even where we are, thats going to be up to you and Foxy to figureout as the story progresses.  For the new comers (yes, I can see you out there, its magic, don't ask) welcome to the game, be sure to give Foxy your 3 d10 rolls (good stuff there peoples) and your 2 spot checks, only 1 if you don't cast arcane magic (lets hope you all roll better in combat that in spotting).  Anyway, get your stuff together and hopefully tomorrow (game day, not real day) you all can start figuring out what the heck happened to us!

Re: Chult OOC

Wow, I can see I'm going to have a hard time catching up each day. Incidentally, on your average weekend I either am more-or-less fine (perhaps with a break of one day) or am busy over Friday (night), all of Saturday, and Sunday, and often recovering on Monday. I'll see what I can do, but it would be unfair not to let you all know. Don't wait up, I'll catch up when I can, but I'm just letting you know that if I vanish over a weekend, I should be back soon enough.

Re: Chult OOC

Don't sweat it Niailee, I'm only asking for 3 posts a week, beyond that is just my free time.  If it comes to a combat I'll dm a player that hasn't put in their rolls in a day or so, unless you all would perfer that I do combat (from the dm side) before I go to bed and roll for anyone who hasn't joined that day?  Thanks for the warning though!!!

Re: Chult OOC

Already I'm really enjoying this. Not including a game I'm running, all my recent FR gaming has been via NWN single player, which, while possessing a nice story, isn't really good for letting you roleplay. So now to really *be* my character and to know how different she'll be after this adventure (well, possibly dead, for one! But even the physical changes of someone "raised" in the Underdark going to a hot jungle...), it is enjoyable.

Re: Chult OOC

Me too. I actually started playing Ynvaar in my regular tabletop game before converting him to use here, sadly that group is mostly into hack & slash games. It's not as much fun when you're the only one actually roleplaying so it's nice to be able to really let yourself go a bit, and I totally agree with the note you made about the physical changes -Ynvaar is from the frozen north! (seems nobody likes my armour ...guess they're just jealous) :-)

I'm glad you two are enjoying things, let me know if things need to be changed or updated to keep it interesting.  Now that we have just about everyone together we can open a new thread for the jungle.  Keep posting in the port N. thread until everyone is ready to move out.
