A Night on the Town (Tel Aviv)/Interactive Prelude

HI all this is the suggested place to get to know your fellow characters and your own. None of this is canonically binding unless you want it to be. I might even jump in with some stuff from how I am planning on starting the game so we can get an idea of the local Tradition layout.

A Night on the Town (Tel Aviv)/Interactive Prelude

Freddie pulls slowly into an alley next to the open air market they prefer to shop at in Tel Aviv.  Pulling out the control form Freddie makes sure it is set on the "garbage not worth it" setting before folding it up and placing it in the accompanying backpack.  As Freddie exits the vehicle, making sure the doors are locked, they pull out their cell phone and call the two contacts available in Tel Aviv.

After placing the calls Freddie wanders through the market, looking for anything interesting or unusual that catches their eye.

Megumi we, if nothing else, fortunate to find something interesting pretty much whenever she wanted it. Today she's started the day with a bit of work, sending it out there that she wanted to find something to do or to see someone that would make her day a little more full. She was draped in a fabulous silk outfit that took notes from some traditional Israeli clothing and some traditional Japanese, mostly in fabric choices and a bit on cut but much more striking. It was a piece of art, couture, built to her body in every way. Even if she weren't wearing it she would turn heads. Everyone noticed her, anyway, she might as well look fabulous when they did.

As she walked she did some odd things. She always did some, today it was slightly rearranging every booth she walked by. She used the guise of browsing, but seemed to put things back with a very specific purpose.

August is sitting at an outside table at Café Kassit on Dizengoff Street, watching people walk by while he sips a cup of Turkish coffee, carefully so as not to stain the white seersucker suit he was currently wearing. A silver knobbed black cane rested against his right knee. He seemed to be alone, none of his yachts crewmen with him, and he seemed at leisure, unhurried.

A Night on the Town (Tel Aviv)/Interactive Prelude

Monty wandered down the busy street at the edge of the market, dressed for a night out on the town. He was looking sharp (and vaguely reminiscent of a '60's beatnik) in his deep purple silk blazer and black turtleneck. Anyone that passed close by him could catch a whiff of anise making it obvious that he had recently been consuming more than a few glasses of arak.

As he passed by a bank of four public telephones, each one began to ring in turn, the previous one stopping and the next one starting just as Monty passed by. Taking a deep sigh, and bracing himself for whoever was on the line, Monty stood in front of the last phone in line and let it ring a few more times before answering it.

"Heya," He knew that whoever was on the other end of the line probably knew exactly who they were calling.

"Freddie! My human! As luck would have it, I'm close...I think. Hold on..I'll find you.". He hung up the phone and moved down to the intersection at the edge of the bustling market. Monty closed his eyes and spun about in place until he couldn't tell which direction he was facing. Opening his eyes, he struck out straight ahead, deeper into the crowd, confident that he would run into Freddie at any moment.

Gaby sat behind a small stall featuring copious numbers of dream catchers, crystals, fairy statues and the like.   She, on the other hand, didn't seem to be particularly interested in drumming up custom (though she helped anyone who noticed her) as she watched those who walked the market - possibly looking for someone... or someones?

Freddie continues to wander the stalls, looking at everything in its turn until one of the others shows up,  "So what's been happening here in the Tel?  I've been meandering around the sea a bit so I haven't gotten any news lately." Freddie explains in a kind of spacey manner, "I don't think Atlantis is out there though."

A few crystals were moved at another booth before Megumi seemed to lose interest in anything around except something above her. There was glaring, there was laughing, it seemed there was an entire conversation happening in silence. Or, she was watching the clouds move, the shapes change and the light moving in and out as the shadows play against her face. Though, filtered through the colors that shifted to her eyes only it was almost mesmerizing, even as a scowl went over her face for a moment. "Yes, yes, I know but raccoon...fine we'll agree to disagree." She was emphatic. They were best of friends but they didn't always see eye to eye on some things.

Pulling out a small lump of clay she shaped it into an arrow at random before following the direction it ended up pointing. As she started walking, though, she was again distracted. This time it was not her familiar, no, it was a Stormcrow flying. At least it was only one, so far. Hopefully it would stay like that. It was enough to distract her thoughts...and eyes...as she stumbled into Freddie.

"Hello Megumie, that's my toe you are standing on." Says Freddie toward Megumi at their unorthodox greeting, "I was wondering when you might show up.  How have things been since my last visit?"

Montana wandered upon Freddie and Megumi as he made his way deeper into the market. ”There you are!” He gave his old friend a big hug, patting them on the back as they embraced. ”It’s been too long. How have you been?”

"Is it? Oh." She smiled, well it was really more of a sly grin even though she hadn't realized she was on his feet to begin with. After the hug and meeting with Montana she raised an index finger and turned around, switching the position of a couple a pear and some grapes and then returned her attention to them.

"Hi. Has it? How long has it been?" Sometimes years seemed to fly by in a blink, other times a night seemed to last for months. It didn't help that she manipulated time frequently in her own home. "I figure we're all here when we should be, you know. I've been great. Last week I was part of a show at the Herzliya Museum." A museum of contemporary art just outside the city. "And I have some of those other paintings we might all want to look at. You're both in them." She also had a tendency to paint the future, that was when she tended to lose time.

Does anybody really know what time it is, does anybody really care?" Monty sang, a decent rendition of the classic Chicago song.

"It looks like the Lady has seen fit to put me into the path of some old friends. I wonder if there is a specific reason for the reunion?" He shrugged.

"Well, I wouldn't know that, fate is not something I dabble with." Freddie says with a smile, "I prefer the methodologies of science, although the chaos theory seems to be quite interesting.  Perhaps I will have to read up more on it."

A Night on the Town (Tel Aviv)/Interactive Prelude

August finished his coffee and put a couple of shekels under the cup, enough to pay for the coffee with a generous but not outlandish tip, and he made his way toward the market. As he started off he studied the sky, the weather seemed as if it would stay settled for a day or longer so the Buckshee could stay at anchor for the night here decided, as the Tel Aviv marina couldn't handle a boat of her size, the closest marina that could was four miles north at Herzliya. He'd likely stop there eventually to top off the fuel tanks rather than have a fuel skiff come out to him.

He people watched as he walked toward the market, tipping his hat to women and greeting everyone with a smile.
