You should read the walls of text, But if you haven't yet, but plan too, but want to get things rolling. You should be getting your ability stats in order. We are using Method VI, which means that all of your abilities start at 8 (and can not be lower than 8, which is good!) And you get to roll Eight D6, and put those dice into your abilities. You can put multiple dice into a ability, but the highest you can raise it is 18, Your Racial bonus can make it higher than 18 if that is the case. But the dice have to equal 18 in order to use them, so when you roll your 8 D6 and you get a 5, 6, 3, 4, 2, 5, 3, 2. You can add the 6 & 4 to one of your abilities to bring it to a 18. This means that you will be suffering somewhere else. If you want to put the 2, 2, 3, 3, into a ability you can do that too, But you will sacrifice points elsewhere. Using this method allows for players to adjust their abilities and not get stuck with very low scores like a 3 - 6, You are gonna be heroes one day!, so you should have some competency across the board. But it also gives you the chance to get those hard to reach classes, like Bard, Paladin, and Ranger. I know when I roll up a character and am stuck playing a Fighter or Rogue, when I had envisioned a awesome Ranger, it sucks. So I get it! You should be able to get all the class requirements using Method VI. Some kits might still be out of range but those are rare.
