Re: Falling Star

Carver does his best to giggle demurely, before rummaging through his satchel. After a few minutes, he lets out a frustrated sigh and begins pulling things out of the bag, stacking them on a security desk. Gimp mask, hand cuffs, "Black Thunder", "Woody", "Buzz", "Slick Willie"...

Re: Falling Star

The guard looks distraught at the ... tools of the trade piling up. "I really can't... I can't take these!" Soon his workspace is piled up and he calls in to the control center for assistance. His radio call is interrupted by a squawk, "There's an incident by garage entrance 2! Require immediate backup!"

The guard jumps up from his post, "You all need to get out. Now." He gently pushes Snow towards the door, as though he'd maybe forgotten where it was. "Out!"

Once it seems the party is at least moseying towards the door, he radios in, "Station 2, checking in. Yes sir, locking down." He hits a button on the desk then scurries off to the elevators.

If your group is polite enough to leave, you'll find the doors are now locked from the outside. However, they can still be opened from the inside (albeit, with a loud beep from the door alarm). There's still people going out and, even if somewhat diminished, in.

Re: Falling Star

"Go on guys, I'll catch up," Snow says to the team as he slowly begins to pick up all of the tools that Carver started to unload on the desk.  Holding up one that looked like a squid, "Hey! This one's mine!" and then starts to proceed towards the door trying to time it so that the guard is on his way and hopefully gone by the time he gets there.

once the guard is gone he will hold open the door and let everyone back in.  If the guard isn't going to bug off before Snow is gone then the team will loiter until someone opens the door and then slip in.

"Well that definitely could have gone better.  Lets hurry up and get this done, the stairs are this way."

Re: Falling Star

Carver shrugs "I figured you weren't going to miss it yet. Don't ask where the others came from, LoneStar keeps some weird shit in their impound lockers." As they mosey into the stairwell or elevator (depending on which will likely be smarter), Carver will start sneaking his assorted holsters into their usual concealed locales under the (squat) longcoat. "Shit, pistols clash with my satchel and I think my holster got tangled in my bra. Someone mind checking my tights' seams?"

With a huff, he trots towards the lethal fuzzball, allowing St V to take the lead if he so desires.

Re: Falling Star

There's no indications of alarms yet, and the security desk is momentarily unmanned. Crowds flow around you, without anyone seeming to think you're at all out of place. Marilyn takes a nibble out of someone's scarf, but the poor lady only shouts for a few moments before she decides she's outmatched and goes off in a huff.

While you have access to the lobby, the elevators are still locked without a badge.

Re: Falling Star

Firefox takes a quick look at the security desk.  If there's a labeled control set that will give them elevator control, control over the doors or anything else useful, she'll do that.  An extra badge or two would be handy as well.  Plus she looks at the label for the button the guard pushed.  If he's summoned Lone Star, that'd be a good thing to know . . .

Re: Falling Star

"Well that's not very lady-like," St. Velveteen scolds Marilyn when she tries to eat the woman's scarf.  Even so, he shoots a dirty look at the woman who dares shout at his goat.  If Marilyn wanted a scarf to be her potential last meal, he wasn't about to stop her.

St. V follows the others and prepares for the trip either up the twenty or so flights of stairs, or (if they are lucky) a trip up the elevator.  If the stairs is their destination, St. V will need to adjust his mini skirt before hoisting Marilyn to his shoulders.  Hopefully his wig won't suffer the same fate as that scarf...

Re: Falling Star

Yay, goat-hats.

The door is relocked, but Snow makes quick work of it. Somehow someone jimmying open the door lock while a troll wearing a goat stands next to him doesn't seem to attract too much attention.

Firefox swings by the security desk. There are cameras displaying images from different spots through the hotel. Empty hallways, cooks in the kitchen, party in the restaurant, limousine pulling into the driveway, raging vehicle fire in the garage, two maids canoodling in the janitor's closet ...

The button does appear to be a silent alarm. It is still lit, suggesting it's active.

One of the drawers has a pack of gum, an extra tie, a stun baton, some ketchup packets, and a handful of visitors passes.

Re: Falling Star

Firefox happily grabs sufficient visitor passes for the group, tossing one to whoever's standing nearest.  "See if this'll work for the elevator"  If the button appears to be a toggle, she flips it off.  Time allowing, she pops the battery cover off the stun baton and wads a piece of gum over the contacts before closing it again.

She really hoped the elevator was gonna work.  18 floors were going to be a bitch in these heels.

Snow bypasses the lock on the stairs door and hold the door open for everyone.

"I prefer the stairs for unauthorized entry, usually less cameras and much harder for security to shut down and trap up.  I can usually get through maglocks but trying to open a locked elevator door is another problem.  That and camera and easier to avoid."

Re: Falling Star

St. V frowns when the visitor passes fail to open the door.  "I was really hoping that would work.  I'll still take a pass though.  At least we will look more at home."  He shifts the weight of the goat on his shoulders and holds out a hand for a pass.  Then he turns toward the stairwell and starts the long monotonous journey upward.  "If anyone feels like they're going to pass out, let me know and I'll carry you."  Then after only going up a few steps he pauses and adds, "On second thought, if a few flights of stairs end up being too much for you, maybe you should have stayed home."  Then he continues up the stairs, giving everyone a real good view of his mini skirt.

Re: Falling Star

Firefox considered taking the troll up on his offer, but wasn't sure being nose to butt with a goat was her idea of a team building exercise.  On the other hand, a single flight was enough to convince her that some sort of a change of plan was necessary.  Bending over, she unzipped the boots and flung them over her shoulder, amazed that her toes weren't yet bleeding.

Re: Falling Star

Okay, I need to stop rolling, because all of my bad guys are getting 13s and 14s.

Four brave professional err... creative? shadowrunners and their goat hike it up the steps until you come to the 13th floor of the U-Luv-It office building. The door is locked and still unresponsive to your cards, but Snow of course is a whiz and ... door is jammed. No helping it, definitely jammed. And these fire doors are well reinforced. It would take a troll in a miniskirt and sequined bra to get this thing open.

"Finally, I get to use one of my preferred skill sets.  Here, someone hold my purse."  He tosses Snow his purse. "And my goat."  He tosses Firefox his goat.  "Now watch the magic happen."  He then limbers up his cyber-enhanced synthetic muscles, backs up into a crouch, exhales, and rams into the door with his shoulder full force.

09:27, Fri 16 May 2014: St. Velveteen rolled 3 successes using 6d6 with the Shadowrun system with a target of 4 ((1,4,2,1,5,(6+1)7)).

Re: Falling Star

It takes the troll a few good hits before the door flies off its hinges. The troll, followed by the goat and the transvestite dwarf, tumble out into the hallway. A pair of elves coming the down the hall in evening wear pause, "we'll just take the elevator." They turn and head back the way they came.

The hallway has dimmed lights, a nice, patterned carpet and mauve wallpaper. You do spot a security camera. You seem to be the 1360s. It shouldn't be too far to find Becka's room.

Re: Falling Star

Saint Velveteen pulls himself up to his feet and brushes himself off, taking a moment to rub his sore shoulder.  He then reapplies his wig which was dangling haphazardly from one of his horns.  "Piece a cake."  After retrieving his purse, St. V fishes out his shock gloves and begins putting them on.  Subtlety was probably not much of an option anymore.  "Room 1213, right?"  The troll looks at the numbers visible then grabs Marilyn's leash and starts leading them toward the smaller digits.
