Avahur moves on

(simple flexibility check: 16 + 5 = 21, probably a failure?, so I'll treat this as if you're on stage 1)

You slowly drift into wakefulness and find yourself lying on your back with memories of your last death still causing minor pains throughout your body.   Your eyes are still closed, but against your eyelids you see no evidence of any light whatsoever.  There is no sound other than your breathing and the beating of your own heart, and the ground under your back feels firm, rough, and slightly uneven.  The temperature feels somewhat cool and a bit humid.

Re: Avahur moves on

OoC: Flexibility check? Huh? What do you mean by that? Meh read my PM and I am continuing as I would normally for all the other worlds I have been in, the PM gives basic knowledge, the rest just assume a bit and ask for the rest, likewise GM stuff talk to PT or someone about.

I open my eyelids and feel for my laptop, take it out, and use the light from the screen to illuminate the surrounding area, then I use my own memorization of the keys to type in all that had happened from my most recent entry, including the military base stuff, the NY stuff, and HeartWar.  I take a look around me, get a good view of what I see, commit it to memory, save, shut down the laptop, but on my stealth gear, and get ready to move in a specific direction once I sort my thoguhts and visualize where everything was and what I should do now.

((I assume I can't see anything so I am in pitch black right? or what do I currently see, and had commited to memory?))

Re: Avahur moves on

You open your eyes and are greeted by no different circumstance than you had with your eyes closed.  You can't even see your hand in front of your face in this pitch darkness.  You can feel the direction that your laptop is in, and I'm going to assume it wasn't far from you when you versed out, so you find it in roughly the same spot it was in the last time you died.

You power it up, and it starts without any problems.  The flash of light from the monitor seems blinding at first in the total darkness you are in.  You seem to be in an enclosed stone corridor of some sort that leads out to the edge of the illumination of your laptop's screen both to your right and to your left.

It's still quiet and dark when you finish your typing, so it's up to you which direction you decide to go.

I start walking down the corridor I remember what I learned in the ninja village about walking silently, plus my own training, to make sure I am not heard when walking down this path.  I put my hand on my sword as I walk ready to attack should I run into something unfriendly.

OOC: Hopefully Kyler will be back soon.  I know where he dropped you...

IC:

You walk down the roughly hewn stone passage about thirty feet, and come to another intersection that leads right and left.

Are you leaving your monitor on to serve as a light, or not?

You proceed to the right and make your way down the pitch black corridor.

You only make it some twenty feet before you hear a curious scuffling noise, like the sound of many insects, approaching you.

I hear the sound and take my hand off of the wall and put it on my sword, I close my eyes, figuring that I can't see anything ahead or anything else at all, this way I can concentrate my other senses and fight should I need to wil my eyes close, I relax, or try to atleast and I continue walking except this time I am walking down the center, so should I pull my sword out it won't slam into the wall making an even louder noise.

You wait, sweat trickling down your back, struggling to control your breathing, it sounding loud in your ears, and the spider-like sound advancing...

And then it stops.

Suddenly, you don't know why you're pulling your sword out.  Its a bit awkward, and as the blade swings, you realize how much you had depended on sight in order to do your swordsmanship.

Klicck. Your sword hits something. Rips through.

And then something hits you on the face, knocking you back on the ground.  Many legs, all over you, and sudden jabs of pain in your face and left shoulder.

I take my sword and thrust it straight up into an area over my stomache, (if not straight up, because I know the predicament, but because I am not really there I don't personally know, so if I am unable to thrust like that) then I swipe in an arc over my stomach area and should that not work then I keep slicing and slashing till I hack and slash whatever is over me off of me and continue till I percieve it to be dead, and then some to make sure it is.

You thunk into something, like a bush, or a pillow, or...It flies off with a ripping pain at your neck.

You continue to slash, a bite on the inside of you knee, and something swarming up to your face, and then swish your sword.

Splat!

Whatever it is, smashes against the wall.

Trembling, you count your injuries.  At least five bites.

And then you sweep your body, and jerk as some furry stick gets knocked about your stomach, but it results in no pain.

Blood trickles down your neck, and you feel a bit nauseaus.

I use my hands and get rid of what was one me, I close my eyes for a minute and concentrate and attempt to heal myself with magic, then I take out my pistol and shoot at where I think it would be roughly, and use the small light generated by the discharge of the pistol to see where it is, then I  expend the rest of the clip into it to make sure it is dead.  After which I take out my laptop to see what it was, by getting a better look at it.

Your spell seems to heal most of the damage (let me know if you want to change the actions once you see...).

The monitor light comes on, and you see the scattered body parts of two orange two-foot wide, ten-legged 'spiders'.  They both look thoroughly dead.

One has left a smear on the wall from where you flung it, and its main body looks impact fractured all about the outer edge.  In other words, these creatures have a 'glass jaw'.

Re: Avahur moves on

I didn't think the spell would work that much, so I am glad it did, and lets just say I didn't use the healing device.

Hmm, a glass jaw should be easy to break, so if I can break that, it should distract it long enough for me to get a nice double swipe, with a slam attack, in a fluid mothion pull my sowrd from its sheath into it, follow it up witht he sheathe itself and then whip my hand and sword back again for another attack, that would kill it I believe, no matter how hardy or soft it may be.

I feel much better and I continue walking along "percieving" the area around me.

(basically I am taking what I know and transferring it to a mental picture in my mind, oh and the laptop is away now.)

You walk for another hour, finding many passageways.  A pattern seems to nag at your mind, but you can't grasp it.

You occasionally hear scuttling noises, and once hear a noise that sounds like a pair of orange spiders, but none comes near you.

You are starting to get a bit tired from being continually on edge, and the small bumps you've gathered since the ceiling is not regular add to the stress.

I decide I am getting a bit tired of the pattern and to form my own pattern, right left right left straight left right, if not that, then from that point 3 straights a left, right, and 2 more straights, then another left and a right. I remain on edge.

I roll onto my stomach and and hold my pistol out in front of me and fire in the direction I hear it coming from.  When I finish with the clip, I will take out my smg and shoot till I hear it die, then should it die, I reload both weapons, should it not die, I hop up and get my sword ready for a quick swipe.  (by get up, I mean take my hands and push up my upper body and swing my legs under me and then while I land put my hand over my sword ready to swing) and if it still is alive and coming toward me and once I persieve it to be close I take a step and swing using my other hand that was holding on to the sheathe to push the sword through whatever I hit, (assuming I hit it).

You fire once, then twice, and then its on you, ripping, and biting, pressing down its heavy weight on your chest, the sour stink of its bristly hide in your nose, and the sharp jabs of its feet in your stomach, and something ripping at you...

You press your gun into its side, and boom, it shudders, and roars in rage, and bites your gun arm clean to the bone so that you shriek in agony, probably drawing all manner of critters...

Its now hanging on to your arm, and shaking you..

OoC: see my OoC comments....evil....gahhh

I said I was on my stomach, does that mean it is on my back??? assuming it is on my back then:

I pull out my sword with my other hand and jab it into the creature repeated times at different angles, while shooting at it with my pistol emptying the remaining rounds into it as fast as possible.

if on my back:

I grab the gun with my other hand and pull the trigger as fast as possible, so that all the remaining rounds empty within 1.5 seconds...2 tops, then hope its dead and if not attempt to get my sword and thrust upwards.

OoC: Can I learn blind fighting in here?

Re: Avahur moves on

OOC: I missed that you flipped to your stomach. Oops.  OK, its on your back.

IC:  Its a struggle of attrition.  Unlike the pair of mega-spiders, this beast seems very hard to kill.  But then so are you.

You jab and jab, and it bites and bites.  You empty rounds into it,a nd it pounds on your back with its hooves.

Finally, you put your last bullets in it in a state of near panic, and find that its only moving because you have been moving it.  Somewhere in that last frenzy, you got it, and kept trying to kill it.  But then, considering how much damage you suffered, how badly you feel, you can only dredge up sympathy for your wasted bullets.

Now the questions of the day are several, but among them are 1)Will your noise and struggle scare off other predators, or will it draw them? Or both?  2)How many bullets did you start with, roughly?

PT
OOC: I'd say you've already developed basic blind-fighting.  Call it 1@2 which is low amateur.

OoC: Thats a bit hard to understand, are you saying that it is only attacking me, because I am moving? Is it dead or still alive? Smg-5 clips, Pistol 4 clips (I used 2 and now have 2 left) Sniper 7 clips (I excelled in it and we were going on a mission, I assume I would have quite a bit.  25 shurikens.

I assume it is still alive.

IC:

I figure that I will stay still for a moment, and see if it continues attacking, meanwhile I will attempt to concentrate and heal my wounds.  If it stops attacking I will give it a few seconds to get off, should it continue attacking, I will do likewise but attempt to roll to shove it off of me and then get into a crouching poition and do a quick thrust into the center of it (center of where I percieve it would be considering it fell off of me, (assuming it fell off)).

Its dead but it kept moving because you kept jabbing it, and shooting it, thus imparting kinetic energy to it.

Of course, this whole thing occurs in a few seconds, but in a roaring gun battle you don't neccessrily realize instantly that your enemy is no longer a threat.

By the light of the laptop you can see that you fought something that looks like a fifty pound pig, but with an extra long nose divided into flaps almost like fingers.

Its very dead.

You hear something coming, and wait.  A giant caterpillar comes into the light, and rises itself up a full three feet, and then waves back and forth for a while.  It then starts to approach the pig body.

The caterpillar eats almost all the pig, only spitting out bone and gristle.  And then baseball sized insects swarm up, and attack the bone.  Soon you hear cracking and crunching noises as the bones are splintered to get to the marrow inside.

Its gross and disgusting, but your stomach is of two minds.  After all, it is food.

The caterpillar leaves, and the hard-shelled bone crunchers are still at work.

I decide to to take the next right, so I cross over to th other side of the hall walkeing facing behind me, feeling for it with my left hand and when I do find it, I continue to follow along but stay far out enough so I can still touch the wall with the tip of my fingers but also leaving enough room so that I can take out my sword without worrying about scraping my entire hand on the wall to get to it, only the tips of my fingers...

You travel through the dark, occasionally meeting a small creature, and if it does not scurry off, slaying it.  You're not sure how long this is, but you can tell you feel like you're in the groove with this blind-fighting.  But even still, you get little bumps, and stumble over skeleton bits, or slide on mud...

You get into one more serious fight with something that after you turn your light on, looks like an animated cactus...sort-of.  You pull quills out of your left arm and stomach, and even your fingers tingle as the anesthetic in the quills leaves you wobbling on your feet.

By this time, you're thirsty, and tired, and your wounds are bothering you.

Soon you find yourself falling down.  You rise, and continue.  A creature dies beneath your blade, and you don't bother to turn th elight on.  You continue.  And then you vaguely remember tripping over a bone...
