Day Deorbits Post Ludum

The world setting is named "Singular Heroes" and its about a society on the verge of attaining Superhumanity.  However, the FF believes this process will tear society apart because of the lack of trust, and result in A)Eat the rich B)Biobomb the poor C) A&B with quick elevator ride back to the Dark Ages.  Therefore they are determined to rebuild trust by creating an ethic of superheroes.

Some bad guys are sucked into their mythos, and become villains.  Others offer an alternative mythos--Lets all become Olympian gods, and "Just do it!" as Nike would say.  However, that route leads pretty assuredly to one of the bad futures.

The hero of FF btw is inspired by Buddha.  He's a rich young guy, with all the cool friends, and positions of influence, who gives almost all of it away, takes Ascension, and starts FF.  Cool, Flare, and Doc Brain are people who got enthused by his vision.

Re: Day Deorbits Post Ludum

Definately a cool world.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.  It certainly fulfilled everything I was looking for.  I'm curious to know exactly what Ascension does and if I was able to keep it.  The data on the Verse and a few other toys I picked up there are quite cool.  I know how to fly a shuttle, but the singular MOST cool thing I picked up there was those Sky equations...

I HAVE also learned to 'cheat' at combat whenever possible from now on...ie....20 million soldiers to kill an Orc....it might not be 'fun' but I get my fun in the game from other things. :)  Very curious to see the next world :)

Re: Day Deorbits Post Ludum

Thanks.  Ascension is supposed to be the beginning of becoming post-human.  Potentially becoming some sort of 1000 IQ, tens of thousands of years old super-being.

This was a world, which I rather expect you know, that was about Transhumanism.  I think the current Transhumanist movement has a number of very dangerous flaws and would be too tempted by the Olympians, but the basic idea has merit.

You seemed to have a very good grasp of the issues raised in this world.

The next world is less...intellectual.  More fighting, more versers.

Re: Day Deorbits Post Ludum

Yes, it was particularly interesting since it combined Transhumanism, Budism and Superheroism...and just a dash of Psychomathematics.
